We're visiting Boise for the first time and stumbled on this great shop. I'm so glad we wandered in. The owner, Dan, generously offered many samples and every single one was delicious. The Wild Lands mix did stand out (we bought 3 bags!). We also bought a bag of the BBQ peanuts. In addition to making a great product, Dan was friendly, took time to talk to us and offered us many great recommendations. (Side note: Dan, we did go see Shakey Graves and loved the show & venue. Thank you!)

Ok if anyone would have ever told me I'd be reviewing a peanut shop I'd probably tell them they were high or that I had lost all sense of why anyone writes these reviews. For REAL though these nuts are off the hook!! I mean look at the picture and tell me those peanuts aren't like the biggest roastiest looking snack bites you have ever seen? Apologies to anyone with a nut allergy. I stopped in to grab a quick bag to go for my husband as a thoughtful kind of gift. He gets a bit of low blood sugar so nuts are a good thing to have around. These peanuts though are not just a little bit to just pick you up. This is a peanut to savor! The salty, sweet, slight spice and big roasted crunch... mmmmm screams beer and grab another handful! Oh and sharing???? Ugh, yeah it's the right thing to do but definitely plan to buy extra.

I've been in here once several years ago. But this evening I was able to sample a few options and they were all fabulous. A variety of nuts and flavors and some brittle. The owner is a very community driven man that was given the idea by his dad telling him for 20 years to open a peanut shop. I'm glad he did.

I was strolling through the lovely streets of Boise, and I happened to notice a sign that said City Peanuts. I thought surely not. I had never seen a shop specialize in peanuts before. But sure enough, they did. I walked in and the smells had me in the feels! I looked at there shelves and cases wondering if my bank account would handle one of everything. Nope. There was just to many varieties to be had. After a few samples, which they eagerly hand out, I opted for the cinnamon almonds and the Ristler peanuts. The cinnamon almonds were seasoned perfectly, not to sweet, not to salty. The Rustler peanuts are roasted in dark beer and have the perfect amount of flavor. This was arguably one of the hardest decisions I have had to make. The choices are plentiful as they also have cashews and other nuts as well as peanut brittle and swag. So if you find yourself in Boise and jonesin' for a snack, stroll on in to the City Peanut Shop!

Super friendly knowledgable staff. Solid assortment of nuts, flavors, methods, old school candies, popcorn, retail, gifts etc. Sampling is encouraged. We left w a big bag of real cheddar fresh popped corn, cinnamon almonds, Virginia peanuts, brittle, & chocolate covered mixed nut treats! Great little find!

Lemon Pecans. A little sour. A little sweet. A little spicy kick at the end.

When you step into City Peanut Shop, your nose knows that it's totally nuts in here. Well, not totally. It's rarely ever all that busy or chaotic. Among other things, you'll find some chocolate things, some popcorn things, and some t-shirt things, too. Nuts, but not nuts. Know what I mean? Strictly s-pecan about nuts, you can grab a prefilled bag from the shelf or order from the counter. Personally, I lean toward the spicy-sweet flavors like Maple-Cayenne and Coconut-Curry. But if that's not your idea of fun, their variety is wide enough to soothe just about any nut-tooth. But don't let any of the flavors cashew off guard. The staff is knowledgeable and patient, and they'll gladly give you samples before you decide. Every once in a while they have new flavors, so that's a good raisin to return. By the way, do they even have raisins? Walnut just pay City Peanut Shop a visit and let me know... okay? And tell the roast of your friends while you're at it.

If you enjoys snacks that involve peanuts, pistachios and popcorn that have been made even more delicious, this is a stop for you. My two treats of the day was carmel popcorn with roasted peanuts and garlic pistachios. Everything is roasted in house which makes the store smell soooo good. I love when the smells are as good as the food! Each treat was very flavor full and yummy. I had a hard time steeping away from the bags. The employees and owner are super duper nice, and I don't think I can say any more to convey how awesome they are.

I stumbled across this place while exploring downtown and had to go in because of the name. I looked around and they had all kinds of delicious looking peanuts, mixed nuts, beers, snacks, and dessert products. What made my day was the service though. The gentleman helping me out gave me great suggestions on what products to buy based on my tastes and also gave me great suggestions on where to go while visiting Boise. I'm so happy I came across this place. I ended up getting the Wild Lands nut mix which has a unique and awesome combination of flavors and was delicious!! What all around great customer service too!

Two enterprising young women are owners of this gem of a popular West Bench neighborhood gathering…read morespot that they created in what was an old dump of a 1950's era strip mall space and funded in part with crowd sourcing. Being curious since they opened this in Fall'ish 2024 and finding myself in the neighborhood, this was a destination stop for my husband and me when we went in about 11:30 on a weekday for coffee and a nosh. Pride of ownership shines in the clean and funky feeling interior and it is clearly popular because it was full, almost every seat, of people that seemed from the neighborhood, including a number of parents with young children. They advertise this as coffee and market, but I honestly didn't notice the market part, in that things for sale didn't jump out at me. That may have been because I was just trying to navigate to a seat in and out in the crowded space. THE MO: Coffee and the limited menu for food is ordered at the counter, carry to your seat and bus your own when finished. Although we were the only people at the counter and there were two people in the kitchen, it took quite some time for someone to come to take the order, although once someone finally saw us, they were pleasant, if not welcoming, in taking the coffee order and then again when my hubby went back to order pastries to go with it. MENU: Coffee, other beverages and a very small option of eats is listed behind the counter and on a paper menu there. Options included soup of the day and Gaston's bakery pastries. There were some breakfast sandwiches by local provider Poppyseed Bakery in the fridge section, we weren't told about them but seeing them when passing by the fridge on a trip to the loo, asked if they could be heated and were told they could be. We chose a couple of pastries ($5.50 each) and were reminded why we seldom buy Gaston's products for being too buttery and one note. The cortado ($4) were good. I noticed a woman at the table across from us who was sipping a beverage and eating what looked like a sandwich she had carried in. I don't know if that is part of allowable stuff or not. The pottery used for all of their coffee service, ours and the mugs at other tables, is great. AMBIANCE: They did an admirable job here of making this light and bright and just funky enough with pride of ownership and loving care in maintenance sparkling through. Seating includes a few level in, not step up, booths along one wall, a sofa and chairs near the front and many standard height tables and chairs (maybe too many when all full as getting to seat is tough) and a play area for kids in the corner. It had far less comfortable 'breathing room' space than I anticipated from photos. But I didn't take interior photos to post because I think it is rude to do that when lots of people are going to be in them who maybe don't want to be. ;-) LOO: There are two and both are uni and sparkling clean with great murals on the wall and good plumbing fixtures. My husband even pointed out the "cool" sink. Both are ADA compliant so kudos to them for that. (Yes, it is law and code but you'd be astounded by how many ignore both.) ACCESSIBILITY: One ADA parking spot right outside the door. (There are too few spots for the parking lot but that is not the coffee shop owners' failure. That is the lot owner's issue.) Level in the door. All on one floor. The tables would probably work for a wheelchair user to roll under. But it would be near impossible, based on my experience yesterday (I have had multiple sclerosis since age 20 and sometimes use a wheelchair) for a wheelchair user to get between tables and chairs for a clear path of travel to get to seating or the loo.

So it was delightful when The Sturiale Place reopened last month (May 2018) as warm and wonderful as ever for ambiance in the lovingly restored old house, hospitality, service and food. With a revised and bit expanded menu and a new young Chef in the kitchen, formerly Executive Chef at a Portland area McMenamins, this was a unique little gem before and the changes have polished it even brighter. Our first lunch after re-opening was as delightful as the others we enjoyed here last year (see my previous review for details). This time we enjoyed being able to try new menu items like green salad with Delicata squash and herbed goat cheese (half order $7.50), house made pappardelle with braised lamb Bolognese ($18) and mushroom Marsala on polenta ($13). As a great new surprise on the wine menu, manager Gina Sturiale (daughter of Rita) has added a really good white and red wine by the glass, like the nice Negroamaro my husband enjoyed, for as little as $5! The menu spans options from soup through appetizers and starter or main course sized salads through entrees to desserts. Prices range from $6 to $18.
