Second trip here and the food is still tasty! The spicy blue cheese fries are divine!

This was just the Folsom Location. Horrible experience with Jacks Urban Eats! And if you want a manager - Good luck finding one! I told the kid who doesn't bathe that was making my salad I was allergic to mint, he put it in my salad anyway! Epic fail. As I was eating my throat was closing!!! Just awful!!! Tried for months to contact a manager - via phone, online and by a letter. All dead ends! Never could get in touch with anyone! Then we figured out their marketing strategy - you can never get complaints if people can never find a manager! Very smart marketing technique Jacks, but you can't stop me from posting it everywhere. Quality is going down; the dressings are more watery now. So was the soup, except it had a lot of salt too! ;-) Service is getting worse too; the staff is getting curter. Quantity was the last straw on the camel's back that led to this review: the soup bowl was so small, it felt like a cup of soup elsewhere. (A side of veggies was even smaller...) Jack's USED TO BE my go to place for a build your own salad. Not anymore!!! Went there today, waited on by a girl that had no customer service skills, was told there is only one size salad, she starts building my salad (6 choices), I ask for the marinated tofu, she put's 3 pieces of tofu, really!!!, so asked her to add another tofu, same with the marinated mushrooms (again had to have her add more), a sprinkle of blue cheese, and tomatoes. There goes my 6 choices. Had it to go, $8.99, got to my office and what a disappointment, There hardly was any lettuce, they are using the small bowls to measure the lettuce (same bowls they used when you used to order the half salad). Need to find a new place for my salads....... read more

My favorite restaurant in the tri-county area! If have never tried the urban fries, you must! I love the grilled chibata bread with my turkey club sandwich. They make awesome salads too! You will pay a bit more than other places but it's sooooo worth it!!! read more

It seems like most reviews that are less than great on here are due to the seating situation or how busy the restaurant is.... Am I missing something? Congrats on being a successful restaurant and always having a line! I have never had a bad experience here. Of course finding a seat is difficult at times, but I am not going to fault the restaurant for that. This is one of my favorite business lunch spots in Folsom. Don't order Jacks through DoorDash. They don't let them pre-order and just pick up at the counter and the DoorDash driver actually has to wait in line and place your order, unlike most other restaurants. Our order took FOREVER! read more

This was my first visit to Jack's. The food was excellent. The only complaint is that the bus people that clear off the tables, stand in the back and slam dishes into the cart. It is very annoying and disruptive to a meal that you pay quite a bit for. The dishes should be taken to the back to make all that noise. Otherwise it was a great time. read more

Not one of the better Jack's Urban Eats I've been to but okay I guess. Young girls don't pay enough attention to service and just talk amongst each other a lot. Lunch rush is too busy. They can't handle it. Personally, I prefer fountains Roseville anytime but especially for a date but this one in folsom is okay for a late lunch/early dinner with some family or a local friend. read more

I will never eat at jacks in Folsom again. Every time I've come here the employees don't seem like they care about their job. I come and spend no less than $20 every time for 2 items. When I go out to eat the once in awhile I do, I like to come across friendly people to help make my experience nice. It may just be the people in Folsom, snooty. I only go to this location because other locations close to Folsom are to far for a $10 salad. I drove across town for this salad to get home and find a hair in it. Drove back across town and the manager offered to make me a new but by that time I had lost my appetite, I did get refunded . As a person that works customer service and I do my absolute best to provide the best, I have a lot of expectations when going out to eat. If you don't enjoy your customer service job, get out of the industry, let the people that want and are friendly have the job have a chance. Glad I'll be moving back to Elk Grove where the employees actually greet you when you walk in. read more

Worst jacks I have ever been to. Service sucks. Everyone here has an attitude. They got on of my entrees wrong which I waited for for 15 minutes and still had to give it back. Doesn't make sense considering they write everything down. Maybe they don't know how to read. My sandwich roll looks like it was ripped in half by hand instead of being cut. Yesterday I had my 2nd experience with Jack's. The first time wasn't so good but I thought I would give them a 2nd try. Unfortunately like last time, this time wasn't any better. I ordered a club sandwich but basically wanted to make it a BLT so I told them to hold the Turkey and Chicken from their regular Club Sandwich and to keep all else the same except hold the onions. The bacon was very cold and chewy and it was overly slathered with Avocado and Aioli mayonnaise. It was almost like they were using an excessive amount so I wouldn't notice the poor quality with the rest of the sandwich. You could say, this sounds like a one-time thing but my previous experience I got about the same thing. I ordered a Philly in which they use Tri-tip. The Tri-tip was cold and chewy as well! I think there is something going on in their kitchen process where they keep meat out too long and it's not fresh anymore. I don't even know if they are keeping a correct temperature. It doesn't seem like it. I don't expect the meat in any sandwich to be blazing hot but at least warm would be nice. I can say the fries were good though, but not enough to bring me back to this place. read more

January 14th, 2018, Noonish...Very busy, this use to be one of our favorite places, we always stopped to eat when we were in the area. Not any more after today, have always loved the mash potatoes, and turkey club, pesto chicken sandwich, but now I don't know if it's new staff new owners or what, but the food was not good. The potatoes were gritty, like the potatoes hadn't been washed, the bread on both sandwiches were burned, and my club didn't have one piece of white meat on it, the Turkey must have been cut from the drumstick, it was dry hard couldn't even bite through it. I love this place overall and the food is great! It's fresh and tasty. I'm obsessed with their Spicy Buffalo Chicken salad! And their tri tip sandwich is so good!! I'm sitting here as I'm typing this. The service is terrible, the kids working here are more concerned about their game of slap and tickle than their jobs! The girl who made my salad had to remake it several times although I'm not sure why. She just said "omg I'm like sooo sorry I totally had to remake your salad like 3 times". Even with all of her remakes it still wasn't correct and was drowning in dressing. The cucumber is mushy and old tasting, the spinach is disgusting and I'm not sure the chicken is even cooked properly. She took forever to ask if I had anything else to order when I ordered my daughter's salad I asked for the steak well done....it came out crispy like charcoal. We waited 10 minutes for my daughters salad she finally went in and asked where it was and it was sitting on the counter no one had brought it out to us!!! Management here needs to really step it up, this place is terrible! I love the Jack's in Roseville I go there all the time but this location is terrible and I won't be back! read more

I actually made this yelp account in order to place a review for the folsom Jacks. We were in folsom, and decided to stop by. What a mistake! Food was decent (better at other locations). The staff is incredibly rude! The restaurant was completely empty, and nobody was in line. We went to the front of the line where three employees were standing. Two of them were having a conversation and decided to move away from us so they could continue their conversation. The other girl stood there staring at us. We waited for a greeting, it never came. We said "Can we order?". She replied "yea, what do you want?". My wife and I were surprised at the attitude but we went ahead and ordered the food anyways. Then, she said rudely, ' we will serve you your food at the table'. Later at the table when she came with our food, she literally slammed the drinks glasses on our table. We were so shocked and just looked at each other. My wife got really mad at their attitude, so we decided we would file the complaint but ironically they didn't have any comment card. I wonder why? ;-) Will NEVER go back to this Jack's location, and would advise everyone to avoid this place at all costs. read more

Like the food and urban fries, but every time I go, the service gets worse. No eye contact...bring out entrees separately. Not one thank you from anyone and very unhelpful. I was asked my name for my order by two different people and then my husband was asked again for his name for our single order? Asked twice if it was for here or to go and rushed through and handed a ticket. I think they should have given the ticket to their person at the register and not the customer. Searched for a manager, when we finally saw her come out, we saw her picking out food from the sides and eating it in full view. Gross. Sorry, Sellands is much better. I used to like this place, but after going in today, my opinion has changed. I went in after the lunch rush and only had one person in front of me. I observed the carver using a filthy rag to repeatedly wipe the cutting board after cross contaminating it with beef and chicken. To my further dismay, she kept wiping her nose on her sleeve while her long hair fell all over the cutting board. I made a quick exit! I am usually a huge fan of Jack's.... but not today! The salad that is usually packed was minimal, especially the little bit of turkey. When I was placing my order I asked for the urban fries first so they could get that going. I was told that she doesn't take those orders and to give it to the "person down there". Guess it was too much trouble for her to let the "person down there" to start those fries. I have my salad order and proceeded to the cashier as there was no "person down there" to take my fry order. I told the cashier that I also wanted urban fries. I was promptly told that I was supposed to give that order to the other person down there.... I said that the salad girl told me to give my fry order down here..... geez. Soooo, my fry finally went in annnnnnddddd 20 MINUTES LATER. I FINALLY get my order. Ridiculous. All the time that I was waiting, I watched the staff bunching up in groups just chitchatting while the line would grow longer and people waiting for their food. read more

Jack's is a great place to eat when you're just not sure what you want. We have loved Jack's from their first location and worked are way up the hill toward us. We still go to the others and downtown is probably our favorite. The urban fries are a meal in them self and when I order them with something else I think " what was I thinking, I can't reheat these tomorrow." My family has pretty much covered the menu and my favorite is the steak and blue salad. I get the cheese bread and don't know why. It's usually cool and the cheese is just a layer on the top. But still this is our go to place. read more

I go through withdrawals if I dont have a Jack's custom built salad a couple of times a month. This is the perfect place to go if you have a quick lunch break from work. You choose your lettuce, dressing, and 6 toppings and can add on steak or chicken for $2 extra. If your not in the mood to go the "healthy route", I would definitely recommend the urban fries or a side of their garlic mashed potatoes with gravy. Although the line to the counter is frequently long, their service is fast! Casual atmosphere but better salads than I've had at many expensive restaurants. read more

Second time coming here was disappointing. I really had orthodontic work done and couldn't eat anything crunchy. Their turkey looked fantastic so I was of course excited to see Turkey and Asparagus soup on the menu. I go to order and it was $5 freaking dollars for a tiny bowl of soup.....Ok well it's all I can have so I order it. The rest of my group orders food and drinks. Here's where it must've gotten tricky for the young and very dumb girl behind the counter. I order water, my husband orders iced tea, and my mother in law orders iced tea. She hands iced tea to my mother in law, and then stands there staring at us like, 'ummm please leave so I can pick my nose.' We ask for our other iced tea and water. She then quite emphatically tells us she already gave it to us. Literally, 15 seconds had passed since she handed one iced tea to MIL who was still standing there with us. We look at her bewildered without anything in our hands and tell her 'um no you gave us one iced tea, we still need one more, plus a water.' I got a little snarky, which I do sometimes, I mean who doesn't when they're hungry and questioned on simple mathematics. So I quite rudely wanted to tell her "Ok, there are three of us. We each ordered a drink. One of us has their drink, how many does that leave? Ok....one (as I point to myself) , (two as I point to my husband)...Oh right two left! We need two more drinks!" She stared at us since we wouldn't leave. We finally just said we need a water and an iced tea loudly enough to attract attention of the other workers and a few constituents so she was embarrassed enough but slammed the drinks down. Wow...dramatic. Anyway, I won't ever choose to go back there. If its a group decision and that's where we end up, I'll be sure to dumb down my order enough so that it can be processed by the unsupervised air heads that work there. read more

Decent food, but small portions (5 strips of steak on mu salad) and horrible service. There were no less than 12 teenagers "working" yet no real adult supervision. First, someone should tell the staff that it is extremely rude to grab and start counting money from the tip jar in front of a line of people. Second, we were extremely disappointed when the table of 4 workers (whether on break or not) didn't even bat an eyelash when my son accidentally spilled an entire glass of water all over the place. In fact, my holler would've alerted everyone in the restaurant some attention was needed, but not one worker cared. We even watched one worker walked over to see what happened just to walk back to the counter to do.nothing but chat with her friends. Typically I love Jacks! There salads are great and so are the Urban Fries. However this time around they are getting skimpy on their urban fries. There was hardly any ranch or cheese on them. Kinda bummed when I got them home. Another bummer tonight is the service. It wasn't busy at all but I stood there forever and was the only person in line with 5 or 6 people doing busy work in the back or flirting with each other. And the girl that finally helped me was not very nice, no smile and looked annoyed when I was ordering my salads like they were complicated. Which they were not. And I don't know what the dress code is there but I'm pretty sure your butt checks aren't supposed to be hanging out of your shorts. I will be honest and say the gentlemen behind the counter was very nice and greeted me and prepped my steak before I even ordered my salad. Overall not a great experience. Might take a break from this location and that makes me sad:( read more

Food is awesome but the service is SO BAD. No matter what time of day or day of the week we go, the employees are incredibly rude. It's not even a restaurant, it's pretty much a glorified fast food place. Employees never acknowledge customers coming in even when there is no one at the counter or in line. They act like they don't want to be there and be burdened with customers. Hello, you wouldn't have a job if it weren't for customers. I don't know if it's a management issue or what but they need some serious overhaul in the workforce department. I keep going back for the yummy food but always leave with a bad taste in my mouth because the employees are so awful. Bad, bad, bad attitudes! read more

I love jacks! But unfortunately the girl Melissa, was extremely rude. I have been to jacks many times. When I walked up she was engulfed in a conversation with another employee. He acknowledged me and she turned and looked annoyed. I was ordering just a sandwich and she referred to further down with a head nod and a turn. Then I went to order extra sides and she seemed to be annoyed. She told me the total, I handed her my card and after she ran it she then tossed it on the counter. After I received my food and I went to leave and noticed that I did not have any to go utensils... Wouldn't it be polite/smart to give or ask when someone does a to go order? I have been a hostess for many years and I know better than to treat customers like she did. I love the food but I would much rather go to the fair oaks or the downtown jacks than to Folsom to get such attitude. read more
