Scammers! And disappointed. The filet steak was over priced and very gristly. My boyfriend ordered at sirloin and was up charged for a ribeye. We were also charged more for the filet mignon than the menu price. They were out of the dessert we wanted. Me and my husband stopped on our way back from Del Rio. The Food. Ok. Maybe I ordered wrong and should have ordered a steak but I wasn't feeling steak. I ordered the jack pepper cheese steak. Here's the photo and yes that's a piece of melted cheese. It was awful. Absolutely awful. I kept thinking maybe they dropped it or something else but then I noticed the table beside me had the same item and they looked identical. It was almost like a double cheeseburger with no bun but the meat with not shaped like a patty. It's was salty and the not very tasty. If you noticed the baked potato, you would be correct to say it was more than likely a hold over from lunch, (we ate at about 6 pm) yellow and somewhat sour. All this for $18. My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs. He said it was fine. No problem but definitely not memorable. The service was really good. The food came out quick our server was nice so there's that. Though the food was flavorful and pretty good the service sucks. I went the first time with a party of 3 and it took awhile to get our food. Granted we all ordered steaks but it shouldn't take 30-45 mins for our food to come out after the order. My second visit, my crew and I walked in and we could tell a family of three had been waiting for sometime as the father was a bit agitated, we got in and waited 15 mins for acknowledgement and even then they asked for a name for the party (5 guests). Crazy thing is, that weren't packed AT ALL. We waited another 15 mins or so and neither the family or us were seated, not to mention two other couples showed up and hadn't been acknowledged. We drove 2 hours to eat here because I recall how wonderful their chicken fried steak was. Well it hasn't changed! The prices have but where haven't they changed. Either way it was well worth it. The chicken fried steak was tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes are real not boxed and their Caesar salad is great too. My husband had the sirloin and he loved it. It was so tender and juicy. Our waiter was great too. We never ran out of their sweet tea. I recommend you try this place. I got jacks spicy burger with fries, to go. It took about 20 minutes. I showed up at the counter and the lady was kinda rude. I did see reviews on Yelp before I went about unfriendly staff and was like: whatever I'm just picking it up! It shouldn't affect a Yelp rating. Well In this instance, it should. It made me feel uneasy to inconvenience the staff to ask for something small like ketchup and Mayo. The front lady was literally doing nothing as I tried to talk to her after waiting a bit in silence. No greeting. She Said one second (acting like i was annoying her for existing) and made me wait while I just stayed quiet and stared at the floor. For no reason bc she wasn't doing anything. lol it would be a funny scene in a movie though. That little bit of mustard in the pic was the only condiment. Good thing the food was good! Prices on Yelp are much lower and I was shocked when my burger turned out to be $4 more. My meal cost $16! I will think twice about coming here just bc of the staff and pricing. Burger meat was great! Not actually spicy. There ended up being no need for condiments. Fries had a bit of crunch on the outside, good flavoring, soft inside. The bun was a bit sweet and soft! Buttery "crunch" on the outside, soft on inside. I will probably try another place the next time. Billy bobs is a good option so check those prices out read more

I had driven by multiple times and finally decided to stop in. We both ordered the ribeye steak and while mine was ok, my wife's steak tasted like it was bad or going bad. The waiter was very nice about the whole thing and took the steak away and they did remove it from our bill. Unfortunately my wife was no longer hungry and we just took my steak to go. According to the manager, they had just switched to a new meat provider so they would be checking on the meats. It was our first time there and, unfortunately, probably our last. Food is plentiful even when ordering the Chico Plates. Love their warm bread & cinnamon spread! Food is hot and served fairly quick. Friendly staff. Waitress checked with my group several times to make sure that everything was okay and that we needed nothing more. Prices are a little high but so is every other place. Would highly recommend. My group eats there several times during the year and for the most part are pleased with food and service. Don't use a credit card as the wait staff must pay the card fee out of their pocket. Have had work in the Uvalde area for many years and have never stopped to review it so thought today would be good. First off the service at Jacks is always a bit slow. I know finding good workers and servers is difficult but even pre pandemic the service has always been a bit slow. Now for the food. Today I had the jacks ribeye which you can see by the picture is only about a 1/4 inch thick and probably the lowest quality beef available. The taste was ok and not anything flavorful in and some cases will require A1 sauce or Heinz's which is always conveniently on the table. The sweet potato was good but super small compared to other restaurants I have visited and for the $36 price, you would expect a bit more. The California blend on veggies were not very good and as you can see I placed some A1 sauce to give it some flavor. They veggies appeared to be sitting there because they were like warm at best and dry. This was part of a dinner party, and the rest had a similar experience with their food. I would say if you are in the Uvalde area, there are other probably better choices Iile Oasis which always consistent and good and even Lunkers which is a bit less expensive. Despite the review I give it 3 stars because I know the rest of my party had the burger and it was good and another has the salmon and it was about 3 stars worthy. So I believe 3 stars is the benefit of the doubt but more of a 2.5 star restaurant. read more

Townhouse Restaurant: The food we ordered tasted excellent and cooked to perfection by the cook, Walter. I had fried Chicken tenders plate and my husband had the liver and onions special, which he said was some of the best liver he has ever had. The grilled squash on my plate was also cooked perfectly without too much oil. The waiter was attentive and nice and took my credit card and phone with my MyRoyaltyRewards promo code and returned with my receipt. I looked over my receipt and saw I did not receive the MyRoyaltyRewards promotion of $5 off my meal, nor double points for my purchase. I went to the cashier and told her I did not receive the $5 off or double points. The waiter had already closed out the transaction so the cashier gave me $5 cash out of register and gave me points but only 25 points, not double. She also did not return my paper receipt to me. So, I would say that the employees need to be better trained on the MyRoyaltyRewards program and how to enter it in the system. If you like smothered chicken, I really recommend the southwestern broccoli chicken as it's very similar. Chicken breasts were tender and seasoned perfectly. A vendor brought lunch to my office today. The food rated a zero. It was cold. The vegetables were poured straight out of a bag and not cooked. The mashed potatoes had no favor. They tasted like there were instant potatoes with a few fresh cut up in them. The favor of the chicken was poor and almost not done. This is a restaurant that charges $$$$ for the food I have eaten there in the past and was not impressed with the staff and the food at that time.
