The food itself wasn't bad, but the quality and presentation wasn't there. I ordered an 8oz steak and while it was tasty, it was tough and hard to cut. It came with some soggy, over-cooked broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were good, definitely not instant, but I'm guessing it was originally a baked potato. Overall, it was good, but not worth the expense. Think expensive cafeteria food. On the plus side, the iced tea I ordered was excellent. Next time I'll order a salad. read more

So, we decided to give Applebee's even though it didn't have good reviews (mostly from years ago). I'd say it was a bit disappointing but I think it's only fair I list the things I liked and didn't like. Drinks- I had the Bahama Mama and it was delicious. My husband had water and he thought it was splendid, as well. Bathrooms- They were clean and were well stocked with toilet paper and soap. The paper towel dispenser didn't work but they did have the roll sitting on the sink for you to use. Food- I ordered the broccoli chicken Alfredo. It was dry and hardly had any sauce. It was disappointing. My husband had the ribs and he did like it. Ranch- Ok. The ranch they served me was warm. I did ask the waitress if I could have a cold ranch. She advised me that it would take a few mins to get (not sure why). Then after waiting for 10 mins and with only 1 reminder, we got our cold ranch. I'll give it 3 stars read more

Ok where do I start , I ordered chicken parm and wow not a good wow but wow the pasta sauce screamed tomatoes paste !!!! Not a good choice of sauce . I know this is not Olive Garden but common really guys , build your own sauce put something in it that says home made not straight out of a can !!!! Well my husband ordered sirloin steak , he said it was perfectly cooked but the baked potatoes was not at all , they did switch it for fries. Absolute worse experience I have encountered in a restaurant. From the hostess to the food being horrible. It started with queso dip being cold. Absolute garbage.. I travel for work and eaten at a lot of applebees ..I've been to this one 4 times and every time horable service horrible food! The meat cuts are . Your salad should not come out 20 min after your main meal!! every time!!! Don't plan on getting drinks ether. While even siting are the bar.. your glad will be empty for a long time untell you actually have to get up to find the bar tender for another on.. and if you plan on eating here on Veterans Day for your free meal. Please don't . I come here often and every time it gives me another reason not to go back. We went yesterday and it was dead. We were sat down very quickly but it took our waitress about 15 minutes to even greet us and to take our drink orders. Once we gave the orders, it was another 20 minutes until we got our drinks. Luckily we were in all good moods and talking during the very very long wait. Our waitress came over and told us "oh I have been meaning to tell you.." And then she said nevermind and took off. Very odd. Our food took very long to make and all we ordered were appetizers. Our drinks were finished and the waitress never checked up on us. No one around to even call on. We were done with our food and had an issue with the bill and the waitress never came back when we mentioned it. Very bad customer service. Very slow service. Will never be back again. Took host 10 plus minutes to seat us.. she was bussing tables so we saw they were short staffed, cool. Not a busy day, week day around 8/9pm. Got seated then about 3 minutes the server asks for our drinks and we go ahead and put in our appetizers and meal with it. We never saw her at our table until we had to leave. We asked another server for utensils and got some 15 minutes after waiting and our food was cold. We needed refills and put the cups by the edge of the table so our waiter can see and help us. A family of 3 sat down in front of us with the same server and got their meal, drinks and she went back twice after. I saw no server or any workers by the tables more then half of the time i was there. I asked the host for our check and a togo box and she brought the box out and said she was telling our server we were ready for our bill. She comes 10minutes later and we ask for togo drinks. Didn't tip much because the customer service was awful! The whole restaurant was awful and it wasn't a good experience. read more

The wait for a server to take orders has always been under 5-10 minutes, most of the time it's constant throughout one visit. The staff is great with time management, the food is cooked to perfection, and the selection of options is diverse. I would definitely recommend this location, you won't be disappointed! read more

This is by far the worst Applebee's I have ever been to! The manager is not professional when listening to customers. The manager actually got into my face and forced me to leave when I complained about another customer double parked in the front of the restaurant. I have had several confrontations with this same manager as the service at this location is horrible. The food would be undercooked, the noodles in the chicken enchilada soup were mushy because it sat for over 30 minutes on the counter before getting to my table, the mixed drinks from the bar were improperly made and was mostly water. The manager never understood where we were coming from as the customer. If you want Applebee's please go to Del Rio, as this location has been receiving Uvalde customers more and more with each complaint. read more

Applebees in Uvalde is at it again. Let me begin by saying that the wait staff is good and the food is ok sometimes and good sometimes. My complaint is their wishy washy drink policy. Whether it's a 12oz or a tall boy, there is a five drink limit...sometimes. I get that they have had a couple of fights break out a year or two ago but that has never been us. My issue isn't the drinks, I can do that anywhere or at home. My issue is being judged on the actions of others. Judge me on how I act, not how the hooligans that you have to call the cops on act. I try to be positive in these reviews and I'm trying to be here. The floor in the dining room was filthy, like 4 year olds had gone crazy everywhere. The booth was filthy from the last group. The keg was stale or the lines had not been cleaned. i had to switch to bottled beer for my own safety. The food came out wrong. The steak was overcooked and tough as leather. The shrimp were like old leftovers, slimy with the breading falling off. The loaded mashed potatoes had no flavor at all. The baked potato tasted like it had lemon juice on it. But, the steamed broccoli was perfect. And the waitress...bless her heart...she was having a difficult time. We passed on dessert. Very disappointing dining experience. I visit Uvalde often. I always enjoyed coming to this location on my way home to San Antonio. I've given this location 3 chances in which all have been bad. I will never return. Service is invisible. Food is lacking. Environment is dirty and lackluster. Food: I've tried it all, ribs and steak are dry. Chicken tenders were under a heat lamp for a obvious long time. Fries made a thud when dropped. Grilled chicken was grilled, too long. Kids burgers had burned buns and dry patties. Seriously! The food was amazing at one point, what happened?! Service: we waited about 5 minutes for a host to appear. As we walked down the isles, trash was everywhere. Got seated on a table layered with grime. Waited 3 minutes to get our water and 5 minutes to get straws. I don't understand. Drinks: I asked for a "frozen" margarita. I heard a blender! I got my "frozen" rita to the table. It was a watered down mess. I asked if I could get it on the rocks instead because frozen is different from blended. The waitress argued how the drink IS frozen. No, it's crushed ice w mix. My mother and I ate lunch here Monday after running some errands nearby. We had eaten here a long time ago and their food was too salty for Mom, and was mediocre in general, so I was surprised that she wanted to give them another try. This time the waitstaff was prompt and the food was good. I asked them to substitute a portobello mushroom for a beef burger and it came out perfect and was very good. Went to the restaurant and my wife ordered the same alcoholic beverage she always does and they made it wrong. We kindly request the waitress if she could change it for a different one because it was not made right and we not be charged for it. She said sure but shortly returned and told me her manager PETE could not give us the refund they initially messed up on due to us ordering it. Mind you my wife only took a sip. So overall the waitress Katelyn was really good but the manager PETE has terrible customer service. I'm a local and they just lost business after I've been going there for a long time. read more

This was my first experience at Applebee's and I must say some dishes were excellent! While others didn't meet the mark . I got the shrimp Siracha and it was delicious! The chicken and ribs might have been good except they were dropped in BBQ sauce. The fiesta lemon chicken was like a party in your mouth I would highly recommend it. The waitress: well mediocre at best, it might be that they are busy but should never be an excuse. Overall, Applebee's reminded me of Chilis so it was alright. read more

Very disappointed. I put in an order to go online. Their selections had bottled water and I was traveling so I needed s couple bottles for my hotel room. Went in to pick up order was met with a female that asked what I was needing and I told her my name and had put in a to go order. The girl took a bag that was hanging on wall and handed it to me and then proceeded to ask for payment. I told her it was prepaid. She said, oh ok, then thank you and was about to leave the take out area. It was obvious the bag didn't include my water so I asked, she looked at ticket and said, oh we don't have bottled water, I said well I paid for it, she said, I can give you a cup of water. I said no I'd like a credit. She went to talk to someone else and came back with cash. I got to my hotel and there was no dressing for my salad, (I checked ticket and it was on there), the chips that came with the spinach dip were stale, and the sour cream for the dip that I paid extra for was also not there, again I checked ticket and it was there and charged extra for. The soup was great but seeing how I couldn't eat my salad and the chips were awful (hard in some areas and chewy in others like old oil was used) my meal was ruined. I will try it again when I'm back in town, but will check the food before leaving since they don't double check anything there. They should have told me 1st thing that they were sorry but they don't have bottled water when I picked up rather than me asking where it was, she was just going to let me walk out the door without my full order when "someone" had to have put order together and had to have notice water was there but no note on bag?
