The brick building is impressive and very unique for a restaurant. As we entered, we noticed the tall ceiling and ambiance was warm and welcoming. Our waitress, Kellye, was genuinely very friendly. She was courteous and gave us a little background on the history of the place. She answered questions we had about the menu. I ordered the burger because I wanted comfort food after the last 2 days of airport food. He ordered the venison because that's not something common you find in Hawaii. I loved their Industry light lager beer. The burger itself tasted great, definitely from a nice cut of beef and not just ground beef that comes on styrofoam. I like the type of bun it came on, however, I think mine was toasted perhaps too long as it was a bit hard. The fingerling potatoes it came with were cooked perfectly - I enjoyed the crunchy bits from the skins too. His venison he ordered was cooked medium rare just as he requested. The pineapple risotto was really good, cooked well and the sauce was nice and creamy. He did not like the pineapple in it tho - didn't quite pair well with the pasta. He picked out the pineapple and finished the rest. We also shared the lobster bisque. OMG this was a total win. It had a generous amount of buttery lobster on top that melted in your mouth. The soup was amazing as well. We had no room for dessert and I actually had leftovers to take home. I couldn't eat it all. We are definitely going to come back at least one more time before our travels back home. Quite honestly, we had major difficulty choosing what plate we wanted because everything sounded delicious. The onigiri was ok, the rice wasn't light and crispy, more heavy and chewy. Halibut was so good, the mushroom risotto is to die, I would go back and just get a salad and the risotto. The beet salad was really good if not a tad overdressed. Loved the paving stones. Chickpea salad was too spicy for a salad, and I love spicy. Pistachio tiramisu was.... different. The bartender was snippy and rude. We ordered another round, then left. Saturday night we returned for drinks after dinner again (8:00PM), this time with 3 other couples (8 people). We arrived first, and while there weren't any seats, it didn't seem as crowded as the last time. However, I over heard one bartender say to the other bartender "I'm not putting up with this shit again", and then proceeded to lock the main door. As our full party had not arrived, we had no choice but to leave. I'm not certian, but I suspect locking the door may be against fire code. After dealing with rude bartenders, and being locked in because the bartenders don't want to deal with a crowd, we certianly won't be going back.
