Great vibe. Kind of divey and I love the atmosphere. Food was top-notch. We had bratwurst and hot dogs and corn and baked beans, which were all part of a Labor Day special. I qualify my rating of Morrie's Place by saying that I eat out 364 days a year. The only day I do not eat out is Christmas day. I have been to Morrie's twice in the last 4 days. I had the Pork Chop dinner each time. The chops were OUTSTANING! each night. They were grilled to the proper temperature both times. The chops were, I am guessing, between 12-16 ounces and served with your choice of 2 sides. In addition, the service was excellent and the price was quite reasonable! While I was there, I looked at the entire menu. They offer a great variety of foods from Burgers and salads to dinner entres. In addition, they have daily specials at extremely reasonable prices like a 1/2 pound burger on Sundays for $7.00!! If you have never been to Morrie's, I highly suggest you give them a try. Oh the pork chops! What a wonderful surprise to get not one but two incredible chops at a great price. Seasoned perfectly. Service was upbeat, pleasant and positive. Guy Fieri should do an episode of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on this place! Definitely a Jewel in Perry Height's crown. read more

As first time customers, I must compliment this place. My daughter bought a meal for each of us to go. We got 12 oz strip steaks, large baked potatoes with sour cream and butter, and a very nice side salad with tasty ranch dressing. The whole meal was only $20. I couldn't believe it! I ordered it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. The entire steak was perfect, with only the normal very thin edge of fat on one side. Not often do I get a steak which is entirely edible, as I am picky and don't Like any fat or grissle. I ate half and had the rest for lunch today. I can't wait to try some of their other choices. While dining here I witnessed a visibly ill employee, Brenda, harass customers. The customers told her the woman has an immune system disorder, and that they would rather get their own drinks at the bar. Brenda then told the customers to " go fu*k themselves ". Brenda then went to the bar, and told the bartender not to serve them. This is the worst customer service I have ever witnessed. I will be telling everyone I know about this event, and how Brenda harassed them. It's a shame, the food here is good, but service like that is disgusting in every way. read more

Not fancy by any stretch of the imagination, but good tavern food (they have a barbeque grill in the back) and different theme nights with their own dining specials. My husband, friends, and I go to Trivia Night on Thursdays, playing for "Morrie Bucks" you can use to pay for beer or food. $2.00 pints of draft beer on Thursdays. I can't remember all the theme nights, but I know there are NASCAR Sundays. If you're lonely or bored, it's a good place to meet people and have some good-natured competition. Love Morries Place. The people who work there are very nice and the food is great. I don't think I've ever had anything bad at Morries.

Had a lot of good takeout from Morrie's during the shutdown earlier this year. Maybe once every two weeks. Had never eaten inside the place so we decided to go for supper. Never again. We had the Monday special-Kebabs. It took almost 30 minutes to get our food. When it came it was obvious it had been sitting for awhile. It felt cold to the touch but was probably just a little less than room temperature. The meat itself tasted good but was stringy and tough to cut. The worst thing wasn't the food though. It was the snobby bartender that served our food. Her whole attitude was FU from the time we walked in until we left. Apparently John makes so much money he doesn't need new customers. She didn't clear the plates until we asked her to. She never came back to take payment. I guess we were interrupting her trips out side to talk. read more

Have eaten here many times, nice local bar with great food. Well, at least the food used to be great. Not sure if the kitchen staff has changed but the quality of the food has gone down significantly over the last several times we have eaten there, combined with raising the prices on several items. I understand costs go up and they have to make a profit to stay open, but you do not increase prices and decrease quality at the same time, at least not if you want to continue to grow your business. Bartenders can be spotty depending upon who is working and if they are too busy drinking with their friends rather than serving the rest of the bar, but you have that at most of the neighborhood bars, just something you deal with. Used to have killer hamburgers, not anymore. You can get a better burger from any number of other places in the area. Last burgers we got were dry (and mine was ordered medium), tasteless (a Cajun burger with no seasoning is just a McDonalds' burger) and generally unacceptable. I order a Cajun Blue burger with bacon, onion and tomato, cooked medium, wife wanted a mushroom swiss burger well-done (I know, well done kills anything). My burger ended up being cooked almost to medium-rare, no Cajun seasoning apparent on it, the bacon was crunchy, and the bun "old". The wife's mushroom swiss burger was ordered with sautéed onions, still was pink on the inside (a deal breaker for her at any time), had tasteless onions dumped on it, a few shrooms, and of course cheese. Both burgers had no seasoning at all (not even salt and pepper), were dry and tasteless. This is now the second time in a row that the burgers have been bad, the last steak I had from Morrie's was also not good, cooked wrong, way too much gristle ("value" cut of meat??). If Morrie's wants to continue to be a place people will want to come back to repeatedly (I used to get dinners from there 2 times a week), they need to get the cook they had there several months ago to come back (or if he is still there, show the others who work there how to cook), and concentrate on putting out good food at a reasonable cost. read more

I really struggled with this rating and review. Goes to say how one thing can really ruin everything else. To start- I would of liked to give it 5 stars based on the food alone. They have a grill out back where they cook all their pork chops and steaks! The pork chops are unbelievable big, juicy, and excellent price! The bar itself is nothing special- back home dive, with lots of regulars. I have no problem with that- those usually make the best ones! My problem and the reason for the low score.... the waitress brought my bottled beer and preceded to open it (right beside me at the table) with the inner portion of the LEG OF HER SHORTS . And then handed it to me like it was no problem. Seriously, did she not think how disgusting this was. I didn't even know her but even if I did I still would not want her inner thigh shorts wrapped around the top of my beer bottle or any part of her clothing. I asked for a new beer that I would open and received a look like she was clueless about it. Needless to say, I have not been back. read more

This place has great food, I'm not talking just burger and such, all though they are great too, but great steaks, fish, broiled scrod, specials, and 2" pork chops done just right. I've been going for years and have never had a bad meal. The beer prices are excellent too. read more
