We had a really good experience framing our large format photo (30 x 45). Jack is a personable guy and gave good advice on the frame and border size that might work well with our photo. However, when we did arrive and chose our frame, after a couple of weeks, we were told that it wasn't available. I don't blame Jack because this could be due to supply chain issues, but it was disappointing not to get our initial selection. When we returned to make our next selection, he did give us a discount due to our inconvenience, so that was nice. Despite this hiccup, I would definitely go again. He definitely charges less than the big box retailers, like Michaels or Hobby Lobby, even when they have a big sale. Also, when we asked how much it would be to attach hooks to another picture we owned, he did it for free. That was a nice perk. Thanks again for the great service. read more

Jack was so easy to work with. Brought in two papyrus scrolls I bought from Egypt and had no idea what I wanted to do with them but I knew I wanted them framed. I asked Jack to please help as I had no idea and that's when all his years of expertise came in. He suggested what colors for the frame with background paper and edging size. He was not pushy and wanted me to be 100% satisfied with my choices . He never rushed me as I went back and forth with frames and paper color. He explained why he would recommend this over that which I appreciated as I had no idea what I exactly wanted. When it came to price I felt he was very fair as we negotiated the final price. We had searched for a custom art store here on yelp (for our souvenir/travel art we picked up in Hong Kong) before we coincidentally ended up near a big name store that offers custom framing as well. We agreed, "This place is right here, so we might as well get a quote." After an unexpectedly high quote, we headed to Jack's. We were shocked that the first quote was more than three times what Jack quoted us for the SAME custom specifications. Not only did he finish the order in a week, but he also replaced the original matting which he deemed "a little dirty" at no extra charge. This place has fair pricing, we completed ours 90x90 with customized frames to be around $300. One suggestion to this place is that Jack needs to really make the store more presentable. I have met with the owner three days ago to give him all the measurements, in which he personally measured for me and spent 40 minutes to discuss about the mat. I have selected a ivory colored mat, which is a common color that they seem to have in stock. I have come back 3 days after to pick up my order. The owner Jack informed me that he did not have my order ready. I asked him when my order will be ready for me to come back and pick up, but he told me he did not know. It seemed very unprofessional for treating its customers with little care. If he did not want to make the frame mat for a small order, he can reject me in the beginning so that I will not have to waste time in the first place. I chose this place since it is relatively close to where I live, which was convenient for me. He gave me a price that was very common in other places as well.
