NEVER and I repeat NEVER use Jack's carpet for anything. David will speak to you in the most unacceptable way when it is their fault for any issues. They did not measure correctly not once but twice. The first round there was not enough pad or carpet. No apologies, just nasty attitude. The second time coming out to do the room there wasn't enough carpet for the first round, AGAIN, not enough carpet. No apologies again, just more disrespect coming from David, using the phrase "Do you want the carpet or not?" The installers are wonderful. They couldn't be nicer. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Jack's carpet and specifically David that manages it! read more

There are few things to say about Jacks Carpet! We have done business for years with David, Jack jr. And Jack sr. They have always provided service beyond request! Making sure that our customers are happy with their carpeting/cabinetry/tile & finished construction needs, they have also saved our butts on a few last minute jobs that needed to be done and handled. We build custom home theaters so the carpeting/cabinetry/staging has to be impressionable EVERY TIME! And David (who always answers the phone) big deal. Helped us with every modification, delay status (if any), sampling & whatever extra education was needed to get the job complete beyond what was expected. They've done runners for our clients as well as base boards and crown moulding, paint, and refinishing. The work speaks for itself. When it comes to Jacks Carpet...JUST SAY NO! The carpet was back ordered. They said 2-3 weeks, after 6+ we had to call and demand an update. After taking our deposit they apparently forgot about us. We had carpet replaced, wood stairs installed and stained, and new spindles/banister. Total time to do this was estimated at 5-7 days. Took 3 months. Every appointment made with them, they no called and no showed. Then every rescheduled appointment again another no call no show. When they did show, it was 3-4 hours later than scheduled. We had to basically harass them to finish the job and threaten to call our CC company/bank. And that was speaking to JACK himself! We were redirected to different people and each contractor showed not having been communicated to and therefore not knowing what they were doing and thus, neither prepared nor with the right supplies to do the job. I've had a variety of remodeling done in my house working with different contractors and companies and this, by far, was the worst experience of my life. Unfortunately my family and I were victims of the freeze which caused 10s of thousands of dollars to our home. So when it came to the flooring we shopped around at a few of the local flooring stores, and some of the big box stores but ultimately decided to go with Jack's Carpet. The service we got from David was great and he really helped in deciding all of the different types of flooring we where in need of. Once the floors where installed we couldn't believe how nice everything came out, we owe these guys a great debt of gratitude for completing everything so fast, and getting our family back to our cozy home! Jack's carpet did it a great job on our carpet. From the first time we walked in to the store we were met with professionalism and courtesy. Dave did a great job of explaining things to us, and had a remarkable amount of patience while we made our decision. Dave was very fourth coming with us about the delta to expect due to covid operations at the factory and kept us updated the throughout the entire process. Jack was extremely helpful during our measurement visit and complied to every request. The installers were extremely thorough, professional, and courteous. Man from the store came quickly and we picked out tile before Easter. Was told that installation would be 2 weeks out and we would get a call. Did not get a call so I called. Was told installation would be in 2 weeks on a Friday and would a call the day before. Did not get a call the day before so I called. Was told would be there on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Do one showed up. I called and was told they had an emergency in the family and would not be there until Monday. I had to change my scheduled electrician from coming on Monday until Tuesday. On Monday again a not show. I called again and was told he would be there at around 5 and he stayed until about 8:30 p.m. and had tile set. He said he would be back on Tuesday to put in the grout. He did not come back to put in grout until Thursday after many more calls. This is my 3rd job with Jack's. They in the past had always been reliable. This was a very bad experience and will probably be my last purchase with Jack's. I finally called the man from the store that came to my house and asked for a supervisor. He said that he would call Jack. That was how I finally got my small bathroom finished. This place is the absolute worst. Stay away at all cost. They are johnny on spot helpful when it comes to making a sale but God forbid you have a warranty issue. Today is 1 month since "our replacement carpet is in" and the 3rd day Ive taken off work and and moved everything out of the rooms in preparation. We called them several times yesterday to find out what time they would be here today with no call back. Following the Harvey flood, Jack's was recommended to us by our contractor. We placed an order for carpet and were told we would have the carpet installed within the next week. It's been 7 weeks now, and we've received several phone calls rescheduling our installation as the carpet we chose wasn't in stock at the store. Then it WAS in stock, and now it's not in stock because it was "returned to the warehouse", though we're sure the carpet hasn't even been ordered. While we fully understand that they have to be wildly busy following a hurricane, the lack of ethics shown by everyone we've spoken to at Jack's is just astounding. They'll quote you an installation date, but if you plan to place an order, be aware that you'll have to wait weeks, possibly months, longer than they quote. We've cancelled our order. read more

My elderly mother had water come into her house from Harvey. Around March 4th or 5th I took her shopping for carpet and she found a carpet that she liked at Jack's in Webster. Our salesman told us he could come out that following Monday to measure for the job and get the order placed. Once ordered it would take about 2 weeks for the carpet to arrive and they would call to set up installation. The salesman was there when he said he would be to measure and my mother paid half down on the order. About 3 weeks or so went by and we hadn't heard anything so I called the store. I was told I needed to talk to the installation department. Oh, yeah...we just need to schedule you. Why didn't they let us know anything without ME having to call them? We scheduled the installation originally for April 20 and 21st. I called back on the 19th to confirm that we were still on schedule for the install and eventually was told that the carpet didn't arrive on the truck from the mill in Georgia. It would arrive in Houston the following week. I was told it would be delivered the 25th so we set up installation for the 27th and 28th. I called once again before the install date to confirm that we were good to go. I was told that the carpet wasn't on the truck that they would have to find out what happened. I got a call back and was told that the mill cancelled the order because it was their policy to only hold the order open for a month. I called back to the store and spoke with our salesman. He said he would see what he could do for us. He called me back and said that he could get the exact same carpet from another company just like what we had originally ordered and it was more local so we wouldn't have to worry about the carpet coming from Georgia. We could have the carpet ready to install within a week or so. We set up installation for May 5th. I called on the 4th to confirm the installation and was told the carpet was on the truck in the yard but that they wouldn't get it unloaded in time for the next mornings installation. I was told that they could install the following weekend, May 12th but that wouldn't work as we already had prior commitments. We scheduled installation for Saturday the 19th. There was supposed to be a big enough crew to knock out the job in one day vs. the two days we were previously allowing. I called back on Friday, May 18th to confirm. The scheduler was talking in circles and I told her there weren't any more excuses. I was told the week prior that the carpet was on the truck so it better be here. The scheduler told me she would call me back. She did call back and told me that she had to do some "rearranging" to get a Saturday installer. Why would that be? We were supposed to be on the schedule already weeks before. I was told the installer would arrive between 8:00am and 10:00am. We received a call that the installer was on his way. Within a few minutes the installer arrived. I only saw the one man. He came in the house, looked at the job and said he was told the house was unoccupied....no furniture. I told him that was never the case. He went outside to call his boss and when I looked out the window he was GONE! I started calling back to the installation/service department and left a message. I did get a call back and a promise that a full crew would arrive Sunday morning to do the install. This crew didn't normally work for Jack's Carpet but they did a favor and came out. This 4 man crew was awesome! By the way...I did talk to the salesman on Saturday and he quit Jack's Carpet about a week before. His paychecks were bouncing and he didn't like what they were doing to customers. He said they were using current funds to pay for materials that they should have paid for months ago and the company is going bankrupt. I'm sooooo glad this ordeal is finally over and the carpet is installed. Please...do not get involved with this company. read more

I was a customer of Jack's carpet. I wanted to replace the carpet with flooring in my house.Jim, the guy I talked to came out to measure my house to make sure that they would have enough materials to complete the job.I had to pay half the cost of the materials up front. They scheduled the job to start on November 8,2018.I had to pay the rest on Wednesday the 7 before they started the job. They showed up at 9 a.m. and worked till 5 p.m. They did this on Friday and Saturday when they returned they did not stay as long to finish the job saying they were out of material to finish the job. They would have to order more.I thought they would return on Monday the 12 of November since they only had the kitchen and laundry room to do but they never showed up nor did they ever call to let me know anything. I waited a few says and called the office of the installers and she said because of the holidays and other jobs that they had scheduled they could do it on Monday the 10 of December. Well they never showed up or called to let me know anything. I called Jim and got no reply. I later called the office and said I would like to have the job done before Christmas. Two men showed up on Saturday the 22 of December and asked if they could only do the kitchen and I replied I would like to have the laundry room done also since its been since November 8 on getting my floors done. They said they were going to call their boss and they walked outside got into their van and left. I haven't heard from them or Jack's Carpet.I called Jim at Jack's carpet today Thursday the 27 of December and told him I wanted to get my floors done. He said he would call me back later. I paid in good faith and the service I have gotten is very poor. First of all I would like to thank Ben the store manager at the Jack's carpet of Pearland he was very helpful in the information of the products that he recommended in which we were able to research and backup what the manufacturers claims of their products. Ability to hold up to the chaos of our home which consists of two adults and three children and two dogs. Believe me I'd dreaded shopping for flooring because I know it can be just as bad as buying a car. As far as the pushy aggressive salesman that are only concerned about making a sale at any cost which in many cases leaves us with an inferior product in which we paid way too much. I believe that Ben understands that this is a very large purchase that will be with our family for many years to come with the information and education that he provided gave me the tools to research and feel confident of the purchase of our new mohawk smartstrand Carpet but not only does it look and feel better than the high-end carpet that we were being shown at other places for twice the price. Was told install would be about 2 weeks out from the time we purchased, and that I would receive a call to get in scheduled soon. Two weeks are almost up so I call, they say no, it's 4 weeks out, and would call me to schedule at that time. Again, no call so I call again. They say it's in but earliest they can install is 2 weeks out. Schedule it for Mar 2 (6 weeks from original purchase) again told I would get a call the day prior to give me a set time. Afternoon rolls around and no call, so AGAIN, I call. Was told they were working out the plan for tomorrow and would call me back. I get a voicemail from a different number asking how flexible I am with the schedule because they're not sure if they'll get to me or not. I call again and they assure me everything's fine and they'll get to me as scheduled, and can expect a call first thing in the morning. Surprise surprise, no call. After multiple calls to the scheduler throughout the day checking up (and wasting my entire day that both my husband and I took off work for) it's now 2:30pm and they're still not sure when the job they're at now will be done. Was told the owner just fired a bunch of people because they weren't good at their jobs, so only the best installers take their time to do the right thing, but that it's hard to get a set time from the installers "because the scheduler doesn't speak Spanish" wow. Ok, so clearly they're not coming today as it'll take 8+ hours to install my carpet. Reschedule for first job Saturday morning. 0930, would get a call before 0900. Nope. Call multiple times and finally get ahold of someone who says the installers are on their way. They show up at 11am. I will say, the installers did a great job, and the carpet looks great. PS- they did speak Spanish, they spoke clear English as well so not sure what that whole bs excuse was about.
