We went with this company for the 'lifetime warranty' on the products and installation and they are now not honoring the warranty. We've been given the run around for almost a year now and had multiple inspectors from the flooring manufacturer (Mannington) out to our home, only for them to lie and say the flooring experienced excessive moisture for prolonged periods and that is why it failed. In the midst of our research of local shops we landed in the Floors for Living on 518 near Pearland Parkway on October 6th. Joel, the store manager, spoke with us about some options, gave us a rough estimate based on the information we provided, and then took our information to follow up with us over the next week. When he called to follow up several days later, we informed him that Floors for Living was still one of our top contenders, but that we were waiting for some additional estimates. We went back to the store again that Friday, October 11th (Joel was not there) and spoke with a helpful salesperson to help us narrow down flooring options and ask some additional questions. This gentleman was extremely helpful, and we even heard him working with another couple and clarify to them that in coming out to measure their home, they were in no way wasting anyone's time and that it was a complimentary service and not a commitment to move forward with Floors for Living. We then returned to speak with Joel that Sunday (10/13) after deciding on the exact product we wanted and get pricing based on this. Joel said he could get pricing on the product and offered to set an appointment to come out and measure to ensure his numbers were accurate - we set up for him to come out that Tuesday (10/15) after we got home from work. Joel came to our home and measured. After he was finished, we went over the numbers and I asked him what the next steps were if we decide to move forward. He looked a bit bewildered and held out the form and indicated that I sign the form. I reminded him that we were still waiting on one additional quote from a company my in-laws have used for over 20 years, but that we would have a decision for him in the next day or so. The look that came across Joel's face was that of utter disgust. He then stated that this was "not what he understood" and then pretty much got out of our house as quickly as he could. On that Thursday, he text my husband about updated pricing. My husband and I reviewed the two companies we were deciding between (still including Joel's quote despite his attitude at our home). We decided upon the other company, but that we would likely use Floors for Living to replace our carpeting in our four bedrooms during the first half of next year. My husband responded informing Joel of our decision, to which he received the response (typo's and all) "I do not appreciate you telling me you were good with the price on the phone. You are a liar. If you really want carpet then you measure it and walk in my fromt door with you credit card in hand". Well, needless to say we will not be using Floors for Living ever and have also shared the information with all of our friends and family about the horrid way that Joel treated us. Of course, it is okay to be disappointed when you don't close a sale, but to be hostile to folks who invested just as much time to make the appropriate decision on a reputable company? This absolutely blows my mind. I attempted to reach out to their corporate number and left a message but have yet to receive any response. I guess that speaks to the integrity of the company itself. Rudy sold his services as a General Contractor but didn't do anything to actually manage the project other than organize some subcontractors. I had to PM most of it myself. He passed on his subcontractors' pricing without ever questioning it. He brought down his quotes several thousand dollars after I called different things into question. He did nothing to educate me on things that needed to be done such as sealing the marble tiles on the shower floor. I spent $25k on a bathroom renovation and the shower floor looks like crap after just a few weeks. Spare yourself and hire a different contractor! Who knows what it'll cost me now to fix it, but it won't be with Rudy.

When I told them that we had already removed the carpets and staples, they still did not adjust the price. They came back and just said that the original quote was already "discounted". They never mentioned which one was discounted from the previous quote. We asked them about it and nothing specific was being said about which item was actually "discounted". Again, a flaw in the communication chain. On the day of installation, even though the installers did a good job, it would've helped a lot of one of them can actually speak and understand English. They had the radio blaring. I had asked them to turn it down but I don't think they even understood what I'm saying. My husband works from home and is having conference calls all day and I'm homeschooling my kids while I'm working on my desk. And these guys doesn't seem to mind talking loudly to each other and crank up their radio. To the owner, please look into this as not all the residents you service are Spanish-speaking. I didn't want to ruffle feathers and didn't want them to take it out on me and do a poor job if I call them out, so I sent my kids outside. It's a hassle, to say the least.
