I was really excited about the new carpet I was purchasing from Flooring Source in Dickinson, back in August 2020. It was the Mohawk SilkStrand carpet in color Ivory Luster. My salesperson, Michelle, pointed out that this carpet is resistant to stains and is also extremely durable. She recommended that I watch the video on YouTube of the Rhinoceros Challenge by Mohawk, depicting the SilkStrand carpet against a nylon carpet. It showed a rhinoceros basically living on both carpets for about a year. Then a professional carpet cleaner comes in to clean both sets of carpet. The result is the Mohawk SilkStrand coming out the winner, hands down, for stain resistance and durability. I was impressed, to say the least. I have two dogs that track in a lot of dirt, so I wanted a carpet that would be easy to keep clean, yet be soft on your feet and looking great year after year. Michelle also told me that even if the carpet gets flattened (matted down) in high traffic areas, it would look like new after a professional cleaning (she also recommended Clean As a Whistle carpet cleaners). When I went to order the carpet and padding, she recommended I use a specific pad to make sure not to void Mohawk's 25-year warranty. So I agreed to use her recommended padding as well. Within 9 months, the carpet was literally flattened and matted down in high-traffic areas. Even my old carpet, which was a contractor-grade carpet, held up better than that after 9 years of use. Also, my older dog started bleeding unexpectedly in July 2021, so I got several blood stains on the carpet in the living room, hallway, and master bedroom. Remembering what Michelle told me about using a certain professional carpet cleaner, I called Clean As a Whistle to come clean the stains and "fluff up" the matted down areas. The stains on the carpet did not come out, and the flattened, matted down areas did not fluff back up as Michelle told me when she was "selling" me the carpet. I called Michelle at the Flooring Source to ask her to come to my home to take a look at the carpet and to file a claim with Mohawk under their warranty. She told me not to worry about the claim--I did everything right, from using the recommended padding to not wearing shoes on the carpet, vacuuming regularly, and using Clean As a Whistle to clean the carpet. That was in July 2021. I immediately filed a dispute with Synchrony Home Credit (the credit company Michelle also recommended) because I still owed $3,135.00 toward the total cost of $5,3275.00, and I did not want to spend a single penny more for this carpet that did not perform as advertised in less than 9 months' time. Mohawk sent an "independent" inspector to look at the carpet (paid for and hired by Mohawk), but this inspector didn't even want to address the matted carpet when I tried to show it to him. All he seemed to be concerned with were the leftover blood stains that he seemed to be blaming on Clean As a Whistle. My dispute has been denied, twice. I have had to get the carpet cleaned professionally again within just 4 months of the first time I got it cleaned. Flooring Source manager Adam kept telling me he would come out and look at the carpet, but he never did. It seems he does not want to see for himself that this carpet does not live up to its claims by Mohawk and the claims of his salespeople. Bottom line: Mohawk does not stand by their 25-year warranty. And Flooring Source prefers to look the other way. I have since read other consumers' reviews with similar complaints about Mohawk SilkStrand carpet not performing as advertised, and how Mohawk will not honor their warranty. I will NEVER purchase anything again from Flooring Source, nor will I ever again purchase a Mohawk carpet of any kind. I am extremely disappointed. read more

I was shopping for tile to re-tile my fireplace & came across this local spot. I was promptly greeted & asked if I needed assistance which was wonderful as everyone seemed fairly occupied. The staff was great & exceptionally helpful. I was even offered samples (they loaded into my vehicle) to take home to help me with my indecisiveness. That actually proved invaluable. I returned a few days later to return the sample & place my order. I received the same great service as my initial visit. Here is where things begin to fall short. I noticed that my invoice showed the tile at a higher price than what was on the display board. It was about forty cents which would have amounted to about $10, so I never mentioned it. I have no doubts that they would have honored it, so that's on me. I was told my tile would be there in few days to pickup. I noticed a $25 freight charge on the invoice. No one at any point mentioned that. I believe that should be disclosed upfront. However, it was after the fact now & since they had mentioned it was coming from warehouse in Houston, I didn't question it. I was called letting me know my tile was ready to be picked up at their Friendswood location. Friendswood location?!? Not only didn't I know about that location but that I would have to travel there as well. I choose to shop locally for a reason. Plus what's the point in paying freight & I still have to drive to pick it up. Let me go to warehouse & save $25. This would have been a deal breaker for me had I known all of this up front. Now I was offered a couple of apologies & to pickup @Dickinson on a day I would be out of town & too late for my install schedule. Overall, the tile is beautiful & they have a ton great options at reasonable prices but some things should absolutely be communicated up front. read more

So pleased with our new floors from Flooring Source. Matt was so helpful and patient in helping us choose tile, carpet and wood laminate for our house make over. Usain and his team did an excellent job laying the laminate. He was friendly and so considerate while working in our home. Sergio and his partner did a great job on the tile install and kept the mess to a minimum. The carpet guys were in and finished so quickly we didn't even catch their names! Everything was installed so professionally and I would definitely use them again (if I had more floors to do!) and recommend them to everyone! read more

It was great and each item was installed by a professional for each service. After months of bickering with cabinet makers, I went back to Flooring Source for the counter top.
