This is a long review, but I felt compelled to explain how wonderful our experience has been with Carlos. Simply put, In and Out Remodeling, is the very best... They exemplify the important requirements when seeking a good contractor: * Quality * Customer Service * Value/Cost * Time My wife and I moved our family to the Houston area, purchased a home, and wanted to perform a complete overhaul/remodel of the interior. I engaged the market and was fortunate to find Carlos with In and Out Remodeling. We had met with and received estimates from several other contractors, however Carlos was able to start quickly, had reasonable prices, and he seemed very knowledgeable and professional, so we opted to go with Carlos. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!!!! The entire process was made easy by Carlos! Quality - This is probably the most important element to me. I am OCD when it comes to my house, everything needs to be perfect and correct. And while most people would say that nothing is ever "Perfect", those people clearly never met Carlos and his company. Carlos will ensure that what you ask for is what you get! He utilizes some of the best skilled talent that I have seen in regard to his employees. The folks who did the work on my house were professional, and highly skilled! I get the impression that Carlos has been in this business for a very long time, and was likely a tradesman himself prior to opening his business, because he knows how to do EVERYTHING!!! Just show him a picture of draw him a sketch of what you want, and he will create it. Doesn't matter if it is internal, external, kitchen, bath, custom game room, whatever - the sky (and your checkbook) is the limit. And he truly stands behind his work. If there are any concerns or issues with his services, he works diligently to correct them, and does not stop until you are satisfied. Customer Service - Carlos understands the meaning of providing good service. He is extremely reliable and is very accommodating. I have never experienced any issues when trying to get a hold of him, and if he is busy, he always returns my call. He also is very trustworthy. He does not make promises that he can't keep and does well at explaining any and all issues related with a project (he does not try to sugar-coat stuff - I respect Carlos for this). Value/Cost - Carlos' prices are very reasonable, and usually slightly lower than his competition. But the value he provides for the money - well, I just don't know how anybody could provide more value! Even if Carlos' prices are higher than other bids you are receiving (which I would be shocked to see), I would still go with Carlos, because the level of quality and service he provides can't be beat! Time - As much as I wish this doesn't matter, we all know it does! Time is money, and when projects take too long, or they delay due to lack of planning, it ends up being a problem. Once again, Carlos shines - he started working within days of giving him the deposit. His competition was telling me they were 2-6 weeks out. Carlos is likely able to offer faster timeframes because he has a solid crew, he has excellent resources for materials and supplies, and he is well connected in the industry. We finished the project ahead of schedule, and that was after I added more to the scope of work! Bottom-Line, you must at least give Carlos a chance, and I would be very surprised if you did and still went with his competition, he is that good! And for the record, this is not my first rodeo; my wife and I have purchased many homes and have performed many various remodels over the years. My only woe is that he won't come with me if I ever move away from Houston, because I utilize him for practically everything around my house now! #2 - Garage & Masonry We love Carlos and In and Out Remodeling so much, that there is no project performed around my house without consulting and receiving a bid from Carlos @ In and Out! We wanted to perform an addition to our house, specifically, we wanted to build a detached garage. But there is a caveat - I live in an exclusive neighborhood, and it had to meet stringent building and design requirements. Basically, it had to look exactly like the other garage.... No problem for In and Out. Carlos had his builders on site within one week and had materials there even sooner! Carlos took care of everything, and it looks amazing! Looks like it was built with the house! Lastly, at the conclusion of the garage project, we wanted to have some decorative masonry work done to the front of our house. Carlos built us some very nice custom columns to match our house and did some beautiful masonry work to my bridge and mailbox. AMAZING WORK!

Rudy sold his services as a General Contractor but didn't do anything to actually manage the project other than organize some subcontractors. I had to PM most of it myself. He passed on his subcontractors' pricing without ever questioning it. He brought down his quotes several thousand dollars after I called different things into question. He did nothing to educate me on things that needed to be done such as sealing the marble tiles on the shower floor. I spent $25k on a bathroom renovation and the shower floor looks like crap after just a few weeks. Spare yourself and hire a different contractor! Who knows what it'll cost me now to fix it, but it won't be with Rudy.

In any business, I expect complete transparency and they have fallen short on that. If my husband didn't pay attention to details, we wouldn't have known they had given us materials different from what we had actually ordered. If we didn't call them out on it, they probably would've never told us about it either. Another thing is, when they sent us a quote, it included removal of the carpets. When I told them that we had already removed the carpets and staples, they still did not adjust the price. They came back and just said that the original quote was already "discounted". They never mentioned which one was discounted from the previous quote. We asked them about it and nothing specific was being said about which item was actually "discounted". Again, a flaw in the communication chain. On the day of installation, even though the installers did a good job, it would've helped a lot of one of them can actually speak and understand English. They had the radio blaring. I had asked them to turn it down but I don't think they even understood what I'm saying. My husband works from home and is having conference calls all day and I'm homeschooling my kids while I'm working on my desk. And these guys doesn't seem to mind talking loudly to each other and crank up their radio. To the owner, please look into this as not all the residents you service are Spanish-speaking. I didn't want to ruffle feathers and didn't want them to take it out on me and do a poor job if I call them out, so I sent my kids outside. It's a hassle, to say the least. As much as I hate giving this kind of review and rating, I'm also obligated to speak out the truth as it is. And I hope positive changes will come out of this review.

I came in the store and asked for a quote for laminate flooring in 3 bedrooms. I picked out a flooring type and the lady said she would send me a quote. She sent me a quote for just a total of $5250.00 with no details. Just a texted total! I said can you send me a formal quote with type of flooring picked out, model, square footage included, trim needed and lead time to get started. I received a email with the body of the email typed out with the square footage and name brand of the flooring. No breakout or itemized quote just a total once again. I called the store and spoke with the owner and he said if "If I wanted to do business with them that I would come in person and they would "verbally" tell me everything but couldn't give a formal quote". This place is sketchy at best. Steer clear!

This email was sent twice in July and August. No response has been received…read more Mr. Wahbeh, Your company did my tile and wood floor installation in 2018. As you may recall, we made several complaints about the poor quality of work done. The grout was not applied properly and was streaking on the tile surface. The tile did not look clean and was smudged terribly. Leveling clips were not used, which caused our tile to be uneven. 12 x 24 tile is supposed t have leveling clips, but ours did not. We had over 40 loose tiles, many of which are cracked. Our tile professional is removing the tile and we discovered the following mistakes made. 1. The adhesive is not evenly applied. Tile of this size is supposed to be buttered on both sides to insure proper adhesion. See the attached photos. 2. No flexible substrate was used, even though we are on a pier and beam foundation. I was told that the backerboard would prevent movement when your company did the work. This was not correct; a flexible substrate should have been used according to tile professionals. 3. Flexible grout was not used. This is necessary with large format tile and specifically where installation is on pier and beam. The grout used was Fusion Pro which is specifically not to be used where there can be movement in the subfloor. Given the poor workmanship, we have now spent over $3,500 repairing and replacing tile. This is simply wrong on many fronts. I am hereby requesting reimbursement for $3,500 for our tile repair and replacement. I would like to hear from you by July 31st so that I can decide my next course of action. If you are unwilling to reimburse my cost of repairing the poor workmanship your company did, I will have to resort to a collection effort and advise others of our situation as appropriate.

Nick's work is among the most top notch. We recently hired Nick to replace our front door and let me tell you I couldn't be happier. We replaced a wood door with a beautiful iron and glass door. The iron door was much heavier, requiring 3 men to lift it, and the project required trim, stucco and paint work. Nick's team completed the work within my timeline and we couldn't be happier with the way the new door looks. The door looks like it's always been there. Very pleased!!
