Nick's work is among the most top notch. We recently hired Nick to replace our front door and let me tell you I couldn't be happier. We replaced a wood door with a beautiful iron and glass door. The iron door was much heavier, requiring 3 men to lift it, and the project required trim, stucco and paint work. I don't take the time to do reviews often but this experience requires that I share it so others can avoid my mistake. First I will start with positives, the counter top work and carpet work turned out fine. The crews worked efficiently and quickly while here. The quality is as expected. Nick has always been willing to correct errors and address concerns. He still is but I will no longer allow the disruption in my life due to his inability to plan and oversee his crews and ensure quality and timely delivery. I went against my gut and hired Petra to do a large remodel on my house that is 5,600 sq ft. I required painting on all walls and ceilings and molding, carpet, countertops, wood refinishing of stairs. It is was an extensive job along with other handyman type repairs included. They did not appear to be staffed appropriately to handle this size of a job and in hindsight they clearly were not. Nor did they ever do anything to remedy that situation by hiring anyone else. Nick would sneak other jobs in the middle of the execution of my paint work and wouldn't even call me. The paint crew just wouldn't show up. They arrived late and left early often to buy paint and other errands necessary to do the work. It was absolutely rare for the paint crew to even manage a 40 hour week working in my home. They just didn't have enough people. Therefore, my job that should have taken 2 months took 5 months and there are still quality issues with some of the work. I have decided to repair them myself as opposed to having them disrupt my life any further. I feel like if they could have done better, they would have by now. It's sad. Nick is a nice man but beware of him telling you he can do anything outside of his lane - he can do minor repairs and minor paint jobs, counter tops and carpet and floors. Hire him for more at your own peril. He doesn't manage to a schedule - he manages day to day. That just doesn't cut it. I have attached pictures of just a few of the failures/sloppiness already showing up with just 2 months since completion of the project. Regardless of the value of your home, this is unacceptable to say the least. Consider yourself warned. read more

We had our carpet replaced with vinyl flooring. Petra was professional and did an amazing job. They were by far the most fairly priced and the job was originally supposed to take 3 days, but was done in 1 day and they came back on day 2 for an hour to finish up the trim. Highly recommend Sam and his team. They did an amazing job on a full remodel in my master bath, installing hard wood stairs, repairing some of my current wood flooring, and last redid my fireplace with beautiful stone. I shopped around for about a week and got many quotes. Sam told me day 1 his pricing wouldn't be beat for the quality of work. Well after a weeks worth of quotes he was right. He beat everyone's pricing and the craftsmanship is top tier. The only job he didn't do was the glass install on the shower but the company I hired to do it was blown away by how level the tile work was. They ended up asking me for his info, that's how impressed they were. Do yourself a favor and call Sam or visit their store when pricing jobs and getting quotes. I had a large tile job done with Petra that has not yet been finished. The installers did not know how to use the grout which I paid an extra $600 for. There is currently a film of grout on the tile which is very noticeable. The tile was also laid unevenly in several places and the grout depth is uneven. Sam promised to make it right and I want to believe him. I am waiting on them to come back and finish the job. At that time I will update my review and post pictures of their work. As of this time I would withhold any recommendation. January 2018 To update, the owner stepped in and sent a better crew to fix the issue. They spent a few hours trying to clean off the film. However, there is still a grout film that is very obvious when sunny outside. A professional commercial flooring company owner inspected the job and confirmed what I thought. The installers did not apply the grout properly. Although I was charged $600 extra for this grout due to the complexity of the installation, it was not done according to manufacturers specifications. So now I have nice tile with ugly film. I was overcharged for this project because it was not done properly. I either have to clean it myself or pay someone to do it. Not the result I was expecting after spending this much money. read more

They have a store near Greenway Plaza where you can see options, but they can customize to what you want as well (we knew little about wood and he taught me a lot). We had minor installation problems with the Hunter Douglass PowerView shades, but Sam promptly took care of it to our satisfaction. In addition, we purchased tile through Sam and had it promptly delivered with no issues. Best of all, their prices are very competitive, you'll get a great deal, great quality and great service. We had our entire hardwood floor replaced which can cause some obvious stress in the system. Nick from Petra Flooring & Blinds went out of his way to ensure we have the correct information on hand to make a decision. As a result, we actually split our floor into two area, i.e. hardwood floor and another area which was tiled. We ordered motorized Hunter Douglas shades and Sunland Poly Shutters from Petra. The process could not be any smoother. First, Sam is very knowledgeable. He is most willing to answer all of your questions and give you advice on what to do. On top of the shades and shutters I ordered, we wanted to do some new flooring. We have a newly built house and there was an area that had new carpet, but we wanted wood floors instead. Sam actually advised us to use the carpet for now since it's new and do the wood floors down the road when the carpet looks a bit old. Who in this time gives advice that would actually make him lose business!!! This showed me that Sam only tells you what he thinks is right, no matter if it causes him to lose your business.
