We decided to stop here after a quick pick up order from the mall. The servers were ok...not really unpleasant but not excited to be working either. I ordered the Merry Meal Deal. My chicken nuggets were way too hard. Part of my burger bun was hard as well so I didn't eat it. My teeth couldn't take anymore torture. I've eaten here before through the drive-thru and it has been better. But as with most fast food places now, consistency is rare and depends on who is working that shift. The first thing people will wonder when reading a not so favorable review is if I spoke to someone on staff so they can make it right. My response: I shouldn't have to. The preparers felt that hard bun. They knew those nuggets had been sitting up for a while. They knew all of this, and STILL decided to serve it in an effort to not waste their product. I haven't had Jack's in a while, and I was wanting a good burger and fries. Jack's is a staple in southern fast food in my opinion. The vibe is a casual family fast food chain. I came by this location, and decided to go through the drive thru to get a quick bite to eat. I waited in line for less than 2 minutes and viewed the menu quickly. I ordered the Double Cheese combo, which is a double cheeseburger, fries, and a drink (I got sweet tea). I also asked for ranch and honey mustard. I did not have to wait long before I go to the window and was handed my food. They did not forget anything, including the sauces. The food was hot and flavorful. Their ranch and honey mustard always add such a good extra flavor to everything. The price of the meal is only $7 plus tax, so I think it is a great price for everything you get. This is the most I've been to Jack's in my lifetime! My mom and I came here out of convenience and to satisfy our milkshake craving. Yes, another milkshake craving!! It was around lunchtime , so the drive thru was very crowded. We spent a long time in line before we reached the window to pay. When we finally made it to the window , the young lady who helped us was really courteous and friendly. The strawberry shakes are delicious!! I needed to do some shopping in the area then had a bit of a drive on my hands and decided a snack/drink were in order. If you are heading towards 459 from Highway 11, then this place is a piece of cake to access. If you are heading away from 459 you may need to rething, especially if you are here around going to work, lunch, or going home traffic. Highway 11 gets really congested/backed up during those times making it virtually impossible to get in here. I was here for only the drive through, so can't speak to what the dine in experience is like. The drive through is well managed. Polite staff do a good job of taking your order/repeating in back/give you a price - really all you need from a good drive through. Service was quick and the wait was short (only a couple cars in front of me). The tea was sweet, just how I like it and the fries were fresh out of the fryer and seasoned perfect! Aside from the possible traffic issues, not too much they could do better from the drive through perspective. read more

We stopped by here one day just to finally give them a try. I had grown up with a Jacks in my hometown, but my wife had never been to one. We took a minute to decide what to get / sample, then went through the drive-through. The employees were friendly and they got our food out quickly. The food was decent, but nothing great. The chicken fingers I got definitely were on the scrawnier side. They had the typical fried taste, but no special seasoning. The mac and cheese was decent. Overall, it was decent, and I might consider coming here again, especially to try their breakfast, but I don't think I'd go out of my way as other restaurants either do it better or do it cheaper, or in some cases, both. read more

Food is edible... barely. The chicken fingers are like tiny strips of breaded leather, the fries are limp and tasteless and the staff didn't offer any sauce, they just threw a handful of ketchup packets into the bag. The Coke was about the only thing worth ingesting at this sorry excuse for a Jack's. The staff have no concept of customer service. At the drive-thru you're greeted with a "hold on a minute" and after a few moments a "thanks for choosing Jack's" in a tone that tells me that they are not, in fact grateful that I chose Jack's. While ordering you can hear them talking either with one another or with another customer, so you can't be sure they are even hearing you. As it turns out, half the time they haven't, so be ready to repeat yourself. Once you're able to complete your order, there is no "that'll be $17.83, please pull forward," or even a "we'll have your total at the window." If you're lucky they *might* repeat your order back to you. So you just sit there looking dumbly at the speaker for a minute or so waiting for confirmation that they have, in fact, received your order, but... *crickets.* So you just drive up and hope for the best. Once you've payed, if you ordered anything fried, expect to be asked to pull forward and wait. And wait. And wait. Apparently they have to kill and pluck the emaciated excuse for a chicken before overcooking it into oblivion and serving it without even the decency of providing some friggin' comeback sauce to help it slide down the gullet. Ten or fifteen minutes later, a disgruntled teenager will hand you a greasy bag of subpar "food" without an apology for the wait or a "thank you" for choosing to eat at their garbage establishment. Jack's is definitely All about the South as far as offering reasonable food special that you'll see advertising on tv. Waffle House don't have anything on Jack's when it comes to breakfast since I be seeing customers (mostly elderly) dining inside every time I passed by there on my way to work. As for the food, I ended up getting there special for $3.99 which includes a double cheeseburger, fries and pie. It was enough to filled me up and they have some good strawberry cream cheese pie which I would highly recommend if you never had one before. Went to new location in Huffman ordered the breakfast special same as always. Sausage with double grits no gravy got to work gravy was on the plate. I called and spoke with Ashley she apologized and advised me to ask for her the next time I came in and she would make it right. So I tried again this morning explained the issue and what I should have rec'd verses what I received. They took my order and that was that. Well when I got to work I had Bacon instead of sausage. So I called again had to wait a hour for someone to finally pick up so I asked to speak with Ashley she got on the phone and I explained my issue once again and she stated she actually remade the breakfast special but they didn't inform her of the meat so she put bacon. If they didn't tell you which type of meat why wouldn't you inquire? Why would you assume to put bacon when I clearly specified sausage. I went through drive through at 918 pm. I ordered Chicken sandwich meal and 2 large fries and 2 cookies. I pull forward the fries were old. The man in the window states they were closing and they were sitting under light. I asked for fresh fries he told me to pull forward. They brought out two large fries and I told him I had 3 he asked for my receipt and walked back in. I waited a couple of minutes then backed up to the window and he gave me old fries I ask for refund on those and asked for my receipt he told me to pull forward again and I did. I then waited till 945 to back up to the window again to get my receipt I was ignored then was told that it was a stupid refund and that they were calling the police on me this is crazy I will push the issue bc this behavior should never be tolerated read more

Ordered a side of egg. Waited 20 mins to get to the window and was told the card machine was currently down. My order was $2.19, After looking in my car, I told her I only had $1.55 in cash. She waited another 3-4 mins before saying, our card machine is not working still. I asked if she would take the 1.55 for the order since I have waited 20 mins. She said no, it's $2.19. I drove off with no food after waiting 20+ mins because of .80 cents. I just stop by this jacks locations drive-through. when I opened the box and looked at my order the french fries were cold and soggy, the biscuit was hard as a brick the coleslaw tasted like it was soured and I would not have used the word chicken fingers for the small little pieces of chicken I received. I went back into the store and asked for a refund and the store was absolutely filthy with the grease dripping everywhere, dirt every place you looked. The manager smartly replied that I obviously didn't understand what it was like to have new employees. She had drank it down about halfway and gagged on something, when she spit it out it was styrofoam. 3/27/2021. They have the WORST manager staffing there. I watched the older Caucasian manager demean two back line workers until the point they walked out. She wasn't discreet in her disrespect at all. I understand how overwhelming the transition from breakfast to lunch can be, especially at Jack's but how she handled the two young men was disgusting and they were not disrespectful to her at all. My food was incorrect. I ordered a Big Bacon but instead I was given a Big Bacon Breakfast sandwich. Mistake was understood because they were transitioning from breakfast but when I notified the manager it was wrong she told me that it was correct. I proceeded to open the sand which and show her that it was incorrect but she proceeds to tell me that that was what I ordered when she didn't even take my order. Finally after going back and forth she takes my bag and yells to the backbone about a mistake THEY made with a condescending attitude as if it was my fault. She gives me my sand which but continues to ignore me when I asked for condiments and my drink. I had to reach behind the counter to grab my condiments because she refused to acknowledge me. None of them had name badges and several of them were not displaying proper covid-19 preventatives as in wearing a mask. I This store continues to disappoint me but my dumb ass keeps going back because the company as a whole I love but THIS Jack's, store #167 I hate it. I asked for a bacon and cheese biscuit, and when I got to the window the employee handed me 2 receipts, saying she forgot to add the cheese and had to charge my card again. Terrible service they are so SLOW! I can never stop here unless i know i have 30 mins to waste sitting in the drive thru line. They never have any sense of urgency in the mornings. I'm NEVER told my total at the speaker so i have to dig for money and waste time at the window. Got in line at 8:45 didn't get to the window until 9:10. The line is always out to the street so i hardly can ever stop by for that reason as well. My receipt says i gave $5.00 when i gave exact change. The food is wonderful always hot and fresh but the employees running that place ruin the experience every single time. I always dread having to stop at this jacks if much rather go to different locations. It's like the owners or managers don't care the service is the EXACT SAME month after month. You'd think they'd be worried about time management and not allow employees to drag their feet but no it apparently is acceptable. I went to do a review on the website and it won't even let you. Do better Jacks! And the managers need to step up and teach employees to be QUICK it's called fast food for a reason. read more

The food isn't that bad. I usually get the same thing, and the only thing that changes are the fries. They are either really good and hot, or really cold. I gave this store 2 stars because of the customer service. I am more picky about having great customer service than I am having great food. Do not get me wrong I love great food, but if you have terrible customer service then I will not be back even if the food is great. It seems like the employees really do not want to be there with their bad attitudes. I understand that they may be short staffed, and they are over worked. However, I have worked in the restaurant business for over 16 years and no matter how you are feeling you need to suck it up, and still smile and have a great attitude. My complaint is about this location refusing to honor advertised prices. I dined here on Feb. 6 for lunch and had the Southern Meal Deal 2 piece fried chicken and was charged the advertised price of $4.99 plus tax. It was so good I went back on Feb. 7 and ordered the same meal and was told it was almost $7.00 including the tax. When I questioned the price and asked about the ad (both the print and TV versions) they said it was only good after 5PM. I told them there was no mention of the prices only being good after 5PM to which they replied, "we don't have the ability to override the price." I have been dining at this location at least once per week for a couple of years, but this experience will make me choose other options. My email to Jack's corporate office has gone unanswered, so apparently no one in this company cares about customer service. read more

I'm not a fast food fan but I will say that if I'm in need of a good, drive-thru breakfast, this is always my first choice. The breakfast platter with eggs, bacon, grits and biscuit is consistently good without spending a lot. It's hard apparently to buy grits made properly and not have to doctor them to where you need them but Jack's is good at it all the times that I've had them. Right amount of salt and butter! Also, Jack's has underrated fried chicken. Great place to pick up a box for the family or just a lunch snack. They season it well with a touch of spice and it's always hot and crispy. read more

We were passing through and spent the night at a hotel near a Jack's so my wife could have a burger from her childhood. We walked over to this Jack's and found it was open for drive through only. Jack's employee Terrel R was just getting off his shift and told us we could use the drive through and we explained we walked over from the hotel. Terrel offered to take our order and take my card inside to swipe even though he was off shift. Terrel took our order and swiped my card inside. While we were waiting on our food we told Terrel my wife was from Birmingham and she Jack's burgers were a favorite from her childhood. Terrel's face lite up with a huge smile when he realized he made our day. What a nice young man with a great attitude who provided outstanding customer service for two people from out of town after he finished his shift!!! Thank you Terrel R!!! Got here at 9:30 and was treated like crap, the staff was very rude and messed up both of our orders, first only sauce and given everything on the burger then no tomato and of couRe there was a tomato, not to mention we were the only customers so I'm sure the 6 staff members could've gotten our food out faster than fifteen minutes. From a former jacks employee this was awful service. Even when I was an immature 16 year old that didn't care for anyone else or their service I still did a better job. I had an early morning business function on my way into Birmingham and needed 30 assorted biscuits. I called at 6:15am to give them an hour heads up and to avoid a long wait. The phone was promptly answered by Akeem who was very professional and courteous. He took down my order and read it back to me. I arrived at 7:15am and they were assembling my order. A young lady with the name badge "War Eagle" (& obviously an Auburn fan) waited on me. She was cheery and courteous as well. In fact the entire staff here seemed friendly and to function like a team from what I observed. I was out the door in a matter of minutes. I also found out that Akeem was the manager of this team.
