Awesome cash register from the early 1900s.

Very cool setting. 1910s feel, though not a bar in that era. A sliver space that carries deep past a long bar with small circular booths at the side. Moody black and gray, cool lighting and retro fixtures. One bartender served the whole place. Fun drinks, but on the sweeter side. Any cocktail is possible, huge selection. Great place for a cozy conversation or a small group.

Small but well crafted cocktail list. Easy, cozy, and warm space. Attentive bartenders. The lighting is gorgeous. Dim and sexy, music is quiet enough to have conversation but you can also vibe if you're alone (which I was). I ordered a Jungle Bird and it was perfection.

The espresso martini is so amazing and it keeps us coming back. Jack's is a great place for a girlfriend chat or a date night. It's tiny- so I do not recommend going with a large group. The bartenders are delightful.

Recently opened in downtown Bham, Jack's has a cool speakeasy vibe that makes it the perfect spot for meeting up with a small group of friends. While its intentionally low-key entrance may make this spot harder to find, the mystique is a good introduction to the subdue lighting, dark colors, and mysterious cocktails to be found within. I've been to Jack's twice now - once as an after-party following a nearby Yelp event, and most recently I met up with a couple of friends for after-work cocktails and apps. Both times, I found Jack's to be comfortable, friendly, and the kind of place I could see myself sitting for hours. Which, of course, could get dangerous. On both trips I had beer (me and hard alcohol just aren't getting along these days), and I was relieved to find they had a small-but-great offering of beers on tap. For my first visit I enjoyed a local pilsner from Chucanut Brewing, and on my most recent visit I enjoyed an amber from Menace. The latter visit also included a foray into their happy hour app offerings. For $7 I got a pint and (first round) a German corn dog and (second round) a generous helping of bar snacks. The German corn dog was tasty and served in a really stylish manner (see my pic). The bar snacks were the perfect salty accompaniment to my second pint 'o brew. The service at Jack's is subdued but friendly - you order at the bar, as there's no table service. Luckily it's a pretty small place, so this isn't a problem. And speaking of small, seating here is more geared toward groups of 2-3 rather than large parties. It would be an excellent spot for a romantic date!

Irish coffee is to die for. Like out of this world. Like I don't understand how they made this so good.

Never been in prior to last night, but while walking by with my friends we decided to drop in and I'm so glad we did. It is by a huge margin the best bar I've ever been to. I'm not just saying in Bellingham, just anywhere in my travels. Starting out with the negatives. If you're coming in with a huge group of friends, the booths hold 4-5 people, maybe with chairs pulled up you could do 6-7 but you'd need to be good friends. That's the only issue though and it's also a strength. The bar is VERY intimate in a wonderful way. The bartender was simmering some spices (it was during the holidays) or something so as you walk in your hit with this incredible smell. The decor is impeccable, textured walls, beautiful wood, amazing leather, great lighting which all kept it feeling intimate. This is the type of bar you go with some close friends and drink and talk for hours on end which brings up the BEST part of this bar. The drinks, they're incredible. The bartender knew his craft, drinks didn't taste like anything I've ever had before. Everyones drink got handed around the table because whatever was ordered was the best version of that drink that we'd ever tasted. I can't say enough good stuff about this bar. It's amazing!

Spicy mezcal bartenders choice, old fashioned

Stopped by for a drink before dinner next door at Black Sheep. Excellent service and cocktails at good prices. Lovely outdoor area that seats 4 groups, all nicely spaced apart. I ordered a spicy mezcal drink and the bartender whipped up a nice one. Could have used a bit more heat but overall balanced and not sweet which is key for me! Husband ordered old fashioned less sugar and he said it was perfect. Server/bartender was great. We told him we were on wait list next door and almost up. There was a line at the counter but he took our order as we were standing and met us at the our table shortly with drinks. Definitely recommending stopping by this place when you're walking around downtown b ham.

Found this cute little speakeasy in downtown Bellingham. Great drinks & ambience. I really appreciate how the owner tried to keep the look of the place similar to how it was back in the day...you can tell by the old photos on the wall. You'll see antiques throughout this little bar, from the old school register that is actually used for cash, the rotary pay phone, and even the trash can in the bathroom. We really enjoyed this place. The only suggestion I would have is either having a bathroom attendant to keep with the theme...although there is no room for that...so instead having toilet seat covers since there is 1 bathroom for all!

Not only were the cocktails delicious and intriguing, the food delectable, and the atmosphere spectacular. The service was beyond words. Anna was a wonderful server as well as a different server who helped when I asked for something, but additionally I spoke to a bartender who provided great recommendations for my father. When the food and drinks were served, my expectations were exceeded. In addition to all of the positive experiences, once we had closed out a customized birthday card signed by the entire staff was delivered to my dad. It's been a long time since I've seen one this creative and extensive. If I wasn't worried about falling over, I probably would have ordered one of everything . I had the Song of the Siren, which was a perfect balance of sweet and tart without being too sweet. I especially loved the hint of white balsamic vinegar. It was surprisingly strong though, so one was plenty! My husband had Le Tigre, which had guava, passionfruit, pineapple, lime and Thai chili tincture. It had just a touch of spice and a really interesting combination of flavors. We both loved our drinks. For food, we started with the ribs and then ordered the pork belly bao buns and the hot noodle dish. The ribs were cooked really well and had a wonderful crispy/fried texture, but they were very lightly seasoned. If you really want to taste the meat, you'll probably love them. For us, they could have used a little something extra. A couple of fun dipping sauces, maybe something like a honey gochujang, would have made them amazing. Our waitress, who was extremely friendly, told us the hot noodles are one of their favorites. They weren't quite for us. There was definitely lots of flavor, but the sauce was pretty rich and dense and the dish had a good amount of spice. We each had about a bite and ended up packing the rest to take home. It sounds like it's a popular dish though, so I think this one is probably just personal preference. The absolute highlight was the pork belly bao buns. I was a little worried pork belly might mean a lot of heavy fat, but these were much more meat-forward, with the perfect crispness around the outside. The flavors were phenomenal and the bao itself was perfectly cooked. Definitely order these! Overall, really good food, wonderful service and one of the most interesting cocktail menus I've seen in a long time. We'll definitely be back.

The decor was fun, we took up the tables in the space themed room for a private party feel. There main room had wooden tables that had a vintage school vibe- great for smaller groups or couples. There's plenty of street parking but the stairs leading up to The Orion does make it less accessible to some folks. The night I came here, I only took shots that the best man of the wedding party bought for everyone - so not much to review there. The prices of their cocktails were a few dollars off from being cheap at $7-9. I did have a sip of the cucumber cocktail and the cucumber taste was very strong- I liked it! I was really surprised by the food options here! Without the food at The Orion, who knows what my hangover after a weekend of wedding drinking would've been?! They have various hot dogs, including vegan options! I got the trash dog and it is every drunk person's dream dog. They also had toppings to customize your dog- relish, mustards (all different types!), onions, ketchup, etc. The ratio of hotdog to bun was bread heavy and they had a water jug right next to the front door- greats points for the Orion on balancing out the negative affects of alcohol. The night we came in was a Sunday and the bartender was a one man show. He checked IDs, made food and drinks! Service was a little slow because of that, but overall a great experience at The Orion!

Wonderful food and drinks. I started with oyster shooters (Willapa Bay) along with a Lion's Tail cocktail. Sierra said the bourbon and lime complement each other. I wouldn't have thought so and thought it a bit of an odd choice. But she was right and I was wrong: it was fabulous. One of the most delicious drinks I've ever had, for my tastes. She gave me several recommendations for dinner. I picked the Jalapeño Chicken. It was luscious and flavorful, but the best part of it was my choice of Balsamic Brussels sprouts as my side--oh my! These were so delicious I ordered two more batches to have at home. Lovely espresso martini to end it all.

I was happy to see steamed clams on the menu. I grew up eating fresh steamed seafood for dinner, so battered fried seafood that is more common here hasn't really grown on me yet. To me fried seafood is a fancy version of chicken nuggets. I loved the clams, so light but bland. The sauce is full of umami flavor, drizzled with some fresh lemon juice, it was like a summery beachy afternoon in a bowl. I could easily dip a loaf of toast with it if I had one. The clams were fresh and meaty, nothing to complain about with this dish. My partner had the grilled cheese, and he said it was mid. He's vegetarian, and I don't like cheese, so I didn't bother to try any of his meal to do my own fact check. The staff were friendly too. Overall, this is a nice place to grab lunch when visiting Bellingham.
