My family and I have been to several eye doctor or eye organizations such as Lenscrafters in the past. We wish we would have discovered her practice a while ago. What a wonderful experience ! Who could say that at any Dr.'s office. LOL. My daughter broke her glasses at soccer practice the night before and she needs to use them all day. I searched the internet and was looking for the best ratings in making my decision. I choose three to call. The first one could not get her in for an appointment until next week, The second said they would try to get her in and still a day later I have yet to receive a call, and the third was Jackman Optometry . I was greeted on the other end of the phone by Carissa who was so warm and welcoming on the phone. She did share that they too were booked up but she would see what she could do and call me back. Ten minutes later she called me at work and said they would move things around and work through there normal lunch schedule to make it happen. So grateful and impressed. I immediately left work , picked my daughter up from school and headed right over. At the reception was another fantastic young lady Christina. She took us in and assisted with the preliminary tests before we say the doctor. Very kind and I was impressed with the extensive and different eye tests my daughter was given at the time of service. Our passed optometrist never did these things. Then we met Dr. Jackman, she was patient , took more tests, answered all my questions and too had a great demeanor. I was able to see where her staff got it from. After making a selection from there many choices of frames we wound up getting 2 pairs. One for daily use and sports glasses for her soccer practices and games. Only down fall was it would take about 10-14 days to get back because of our insurance. Carissa listened to my concerns and saw that I was upset trying to figure how my daughter would be able to see or go to school without them for almost two weeks. I felt bad because there was other work she could have been doing. On her own without me asking, She literally went one by one on every frame they had in-house and was able to find a match that we could use with her current lenses so she would not be without until the new glasses came in. WOW! It says a lot about her character to be so kind and compassionate about others needs. What topped it off was later that evening after we left I received a follow up call from Dr. Jackman after she had closed the office about our visit and she just wanted to reconfirm my email so she could send me links to different options we discussed during our consultation. Again, very impressed with the service and the attention to details. I highly recommend Jackman Optometry to anyone and will be sure to send all my family and friends! Last night Jackman Optometry saved my life... ok a bit dramatic but they saved me from being very uncomfortable! I didn't have my hard contact lens remover tool and my lens was really starting to irritate my right eye but I couldn't remove the lens with my fingers. I called around to at least 7 different pharmacies, 3 Costcos, and 6 optometry offices and finally found 2 offices that had these tools in stock. Dr. Jackman's office assured me that they had the tools in stock, offered it to me at a very reasonable price, and even stayed a few minutes after closing time to wait for me to drive 15 minutes to the office! read more

I was due for a new prescription and needed a real change in style for a while (though I didn't know it). I was fortunate enough to find Dr Jackman through a networking group, and with her help, I can now see better and look cool at the same time! I've even updated my hairstyle, which really helps on an occupational level. I like the cozy, single operator, feel of her business also. I got my last pair of glasses at Costco; they totally lack the personal touch. Since starting my business, I'd noticed that my current prescription was making me more and more tired the more hours I spent in front of my computer. Worse, I was having difficulty reading for more than 30 minutes, sometimes even experiencing double vision. Even though I'd been going to an optometrist for years, Dr. Jackman took the additional time in my exams to identify other vision problems that my previous optometrist had missed. Dr. Jackman's extensive experience in vision therapy and non-standard vision problems was a huge help and comfort to me. In addition to my exam testing, she tested me for vision therapy benefits and equipped me with a few training solutions. We come here for our annual eye exam and have been very satisfied with their services. This was my daughters 1st eye exam and I was amazed how Christina and Shannon handled a kid and gave all the attention, time & warmth that a kid would expect. -Locating this office: For 1st timers it could be tricky to locate this office in the Town & country office complex. If you are coming from Eastbound 22 Fwy then this office is towards the back (Building F, # 890). -This location is great with the ponds & ducks and while waiting for my appointment it's always very nice to look outside at the pond of water & the ducks. -Cleanliness of the office: Office is very clean and their newly renovated extra sitting space is just awesome. Previous I went to Costco optometry but ever since I got eye insurance through my employee I wanted to go somewhere that accepted my insurance. So I looked on Yelp and I picked Jackman because she had openings for this week. I read the reviews and the good ones are true. I feel never knew optometry because I always went to Costco. What a difference! Here are a couple of good points I want to say: Thorough: There were a number of tests that tested depth perception and color blindness that I didn't get at Costco. Also there were many more of them and the instrumentation looked very new. For $55 I got two additional tests not covered by my insurance that checked for eye pigmentation to check for risk of macular degeneration and another that takes a cross section image of your eye so you can see for yourself what's wrong. Lot of the tests I had not heard before and I felt like it was much more thorough than I had been used to. Personal: The assistance the Dr. Jackman herself were very nice, took their time, and careful. I think the fact that they didn't rush anything and the fact that they were very willing to explain anything i didn't understand made it a very pleasant experience. State-of-the-art: Ah the wow factor. So there's a machine connected to a PC that measures eye pigmentation which was really cool. It checks for early-signs of macular degeneration and looked very new. And then the eye charts are completely digital and are read off a brand-new iMac! I thought that was cool. I seem to always remember the letters on those charts and having it digital I was able to tell her to change up the letters every so often to keep me honest. Finally the image of your eye is so cool and psychadelic when you take it. It flashes blue and green lights and creates an HD image of your eye so you can see right there for yourself your veins, the interior of your eye, and the retina itself. Overall a great experience and I am quite pleased. read more

When I ordered a year supply of contacts and I qualified for a rebate, I got it mailed to me with most of it filled out including my name and address! Talk about good service. Dr. Jackman was very nice and polite. Office parking is convenient. However, the reason I gave 3 stars is the two fold. First, I felt they were pushing a lot of extras on me. After coming in and getting my copay and cost figured out, there were suddenly add ons for extra imaging and testing and a treatment for eyelash soap they I would have to buy from their office and the charges racked up. The other and more important issue was the office staff. Very hard to get a hold of anyone to get my test results. After doing the 3D pictures of my retina which the Dr. recommended, I was told she'd review the results and give me call to let me know. I never got a call. When I called, several times, each time I was told she would review the test and call me later. No call back until the fourth time I insisted on speaking to her. Overall, I think the pushy nature of the upswell and the disorganized care made it feel more like a used car lot then an optometrists office. read more

This review is loooooooooong overdue! My husband and I found Dr. Jackman on Yelp, as we just moved to Orange and needed a new eye doctor. I am 30 now and have been wearing glasses since 4 years old. I have been to MANY eye doctors and none have ever been as thorough as Dr. Jackman's office. I even had some tests done that I have never had before! And everyone knows the test they do when they blow the puff of air in your eye?! Well, no puff! I loved it! haha But in all seriousness, I have the worst eyes with astigmatism. I have been wearing contacts since the age of 12 and for the first time ever, I have found a Dr. who was able to match my vision to some comfortable lenses! They don't get dry and they're not too thick! I love them! And speaking of contacts, my husband was attempting contacts for the first time. We are both very active people so we can't stand wearing our glasses when we're not at home. My husband is not a fan at sticking his fingers in his eyes, but the assistants were so patient and so helpful in teaching him different techniques. He now puts them in and takes them out without any problems. :-) Not to mention the staff is so friendly and is always checking in on you even when you're just waiting patiently in the waiting room. One evening, I came in with my husband when he had his follow up for his contacts (my appt wasn't until the next day), when he was done, Dr. Jackman said "come on Heidi, lets get you in so you don't have to come back tomorrow." It's the end of her day and she brings me in without an appt. We definitely would highly recommend Dr. Jackman's office to anyone. Best. Optometrist. Ever. I didn't realize I would ever feel so passionate about an eye doctor. I mean really, what is the big deal, right? They shine a light in your eyes and then give you a prescription for glasses. That is it, right? Well, apparently, not all optometrists are that lame. My last one was, but thank goodness I found Dr. Jackman (nice job, Yelpers!). Christina at the front desk was more than friendly and she did a great pre-exam - even offering additional tests (at an extra cost) if I wanted them. It was nice to have that option. Dr. Jackman was exceptionally thorough - WAY better than any other optometrist I have been to. In fact, she was able to quickly diagnose an eye question/issue I had - my last optometrist had no clue. Both my husband and I got glasses and both turned out perfect - no issues at all. They explained our insurance coverage to me - apparently, I didn't even have a clear understanding of what was covered because my last optometrist didn't explain it well. Turns out that our insurance covers way more than I thought - I wish I had known that years ago. Jackman Optometry is seriously the best. I had lasik surgery 6 years ago, and needed to get my eyes checked annually, so I decided to give Dr. Jackman a try. I was very impressed on how comprehensive the eye exam was, the entire procedure took almost 2 hours and there was no wait! Comparing to other optometrists I've been to, they usually only take 30min for the exam including dilation of pupils. Dr. Jackman took the time to exam and explain to me about the cause for my dry eyes, and how often times oil glands get clogged, she suggested remedies for improving this condition. After dilating my eyes, she also found a "freckle" in my left eye, which non of my other optometrists ever mentioned before. So, she insisted on doing more tests, without charging me extra out of pocket! I would definitely recommend Dr. Jackman to anyone who needs an eye exam. The only con is that the office is difficult to find. If memory serves me right, it's located in building F, in the back side of the building. read more

To start off, I was greeted by an incredibly hospitable and kind office staff, Carissa. I felt very welcomed and safe with all of the cautions the office is taking with Covid (masks provided, temperature and O2 levels taken, hand sanitizer, etc). I had been experiencing red eyes with my contacts that I figured was expected. Dr. Jackman noticed and mentioned that many optometrists put everyone in the standard size - I didn't even realize that there were different contact sizes! I was measured and am in less concave contacts now with no red circles around my eyes. They are incredibly comfortable. If you are looking to get fitted for contacts, Jackman Optometry is the place to go! The glasses selection is amazing and I'm very happy with the glasses I bought - I get compliments all the time! Dr. Jackman performs a very through exam and helps you feel comfortable about all of the tests that are performed. I especially think she did a great job of explaining the various options that are available to me based on my prescription: glasses, contacts and even laser surgery. I've been going to this optometrist for 3 years now. I truly love everyone in the office. They are very professional and dedicated to their patients. They always have a smile on their face.
