Firstly, scheduling with her is super easy - I DM'd her on Instagram (where she often posts pictures of her work) and we were able to figure out a time that worked for both of us, esp during the holidays when we were both extremely busy. I sent her a picture of what I wanted and she was upfront about the plausibility of it. Since my hair hasn't been dyed in over 2 years, it's pretty dark and I wasn't going to be able to get it to the ashy color I wanted. That said, she still tried to do something similar style and I love it all the same! She even gave me options once we saw what the lifted color (after foil and all) looked like and made adjustments accordingly, which ended up taking more time. However, she was still happy to spend the time to make it how I wanted it, so I really appreciate that. Lastly, I gave her really little direction on how I wanted my hair cut, but I did know I wanted to shed a fair amount of inches. With such little direction, she did what she thought would look great and it's the best haircut I've gotten in a while. I keep getting compliments on it! Let me tell you why I adore her so: * TIMELINESS- If there is one thing I'm stickler for, it's respecting my time. We've all had the experience before where you make an appointment for 3 and you don't get seen until 3:30 and then you're left with your head dangling in the shampoo bowl for another 45 minutes, because the stylist insists on overbooking. I've been going to No Curl Denied for over 2 years and she has NEVER been late or overbooked. If your appointment is at 1, you are in the chair at 1 (and actually before). * PERFECTIONIST - I must admit, Nica is a little OCD. She is going to make sure every single strand of hair on your head is laying perfectly before she lets you leave her chair. You will never have to stare at yourself in the salon mirror and then go "well could you bump it here, fix this, do that...", NEVER. She takes pride in her craft and holds herself to a standard of excellence which leads me to.... *PROFESSIONALISM - Nica is an all-around expert in her craft. She makes sure to educate you about your hair, help you achieve healthy hair goals, and just make you flourish all around. As such, Nica places great emphasis in continuing hair education and it seems like every month she's taking additional classes to learn about new hair techniques, styles, etc. She sends out monthly emails to all of her clients keeping you updated with all of the developments which I really look forward to reading each time. I would continue singing her praises, but honestly, this review is getting long and No Curl Denied is something you must experience. Do yourself a favor & go visit her.
