There was one in Maine every bit as good. To be fair some states were just drive-through, but we tried coffee shops in all but 2 of those listed. This was a really great place. Quiet, brightly lit, nicely decorated. A quaint mix of old and new. Excellent coffee. Excellent pastries. Roomy enough on a weekday morning.

They have a private parking lot and a drive thru... however I recommend you dont drive thru. Nothing wrong with driving thru... its just the inside is so perfect and welcoming. They have friendly attentive staff and most of all, the way they present their baked goods and the quality of said baked goods is worth the steps inside. Everything is hand created there. Speaking of the food: The breakfast biscuit made on the herbed biscuit is a MUST get. If you don't get one and someone in your party does.. you "will" have food envy. Not even joking. It is that good. We surprised our friends at a dog show down the road ag the richland county fair with breakfast sandwiches and baked goods from Nickel and Bean and they multiple times brought up how good the sammie was. If you havent stopped in... go! Now!!!

We stopped in Sunday afternoon for some tasty ice cream! My father picked up the the bill for our…read morelarge group of 7 people. When I had placed my order, the lady in charge (owner or manager) had just (verbally) told off a man. I suppose that should have a clue about what we might experience. I chose 2 stars because the ice cream is really good. Everyone loved theirs order. My wife said the soft serve cone was one of the best she's ever had. However, the customer service deserves 0-1 stars. When she handed the cone to my brother in law for my 4-year old nephew, he said," I asked for a cup." She replied," You said cone." Try to imagine a very harsh tone here. After I finished my shake, I went to ask for water. I very gingerly asked if I could have a cup of ice water. She came back and said, ".25." I didn't have any money, so I said, "sorry, let me go see if I can find some." She said," you don't have any money?!." "No, I said. We just had a very larger order. We're sitting over there." She said, "I don't usually give out water for free. Do you know what goes into this cup." At that point, I said, "Sorry, if it's that big of a deal, don't worry about it." I guess I shouldn't have assumed I could get ice water with an order of ice cream. I hope the person finds happiness, or whatever was bothering her that day was just a short-term thing. It would be a shame to create a reputation of rude treatment when the ice cream is so good.

We have been traveling north to Lexington, Ohio from Columbus to this local butcher for about a…read moreyear. Its free standing white buidling set up on a sloped parking lot. Super cute, clean, has a nice case that offers a large variety of cuts. We like that the meat is locally sourced. We like how friendly the staff is. Usually the meat we get is excellent. However, the last trip wasn't perfect. we came up on June 2nd, purchased two large racks of beef ribs, 9 pounds of pork butt, 6 bacon burgers. and some beyond spicy jerky. Total cost 191.14. Kind of felt that was a bit high tbo but this was my husbands order so i just stood there observing. Now I expect some fat on ribs. When the man that handled our order he said "i took off some (meat) off the top before you came. Here they are". I thought.. "thats weird. Why would u trim off meat." But again said nothing. We will get to that in a bit.... We get home. Cooked the six bacon burgers which were crazy good. They grind bacon into the beef and form a patty for you. They were very nice. Would drive up get again. My son next cracks open the jerky. Spicy is an understatement. Its super duper crazy spicy. Now, I like spicy, so does half my family. Fair warning this may of been the spiciest Ive ever had. It was right at the edge of ohhhh this might be too spicy, but didn't quite cross that line. Make sure you like spicy. It was good. I think they make it themselves. Thats a plus in our eyes. But half the family wouldn't eat it -it was that spicy. Lol. (Whimps) The next night we have our BBQ. The pork was good. Nice marbling. Smoked up nicely but for this cut alone it wasn't really worth the miles and time up there as the price of it was a bit high. Now to the ribs.... This was the item that we were driving an hour to get. All the rest were add ons. These were to be the main feature of our BBQ. Total disappointment. Not sure what was trimmed off before we got there, but it must of been most of the meat... As what we went home with was almost mostly fat and bone The ribs also were what cost the most and wow... I am shocked that they sold us those and even more shocked my husband (who is a great BBQ guy) weirdly accepted them. My point with this review is, as a customer--check your slabs of ribs. If they are fatty... and your gut say too fatty-- speak up! as this shop usually sends you home with perfect meat. Im sure there are more in the back and if Im sure they are great at suggesting a plan B. This time they missed the mark with us, but again, I have faith that if we ever go back it should be a better experience, as the other two experiences were amazing. I want to emphasize-- This isnt a place that should be skipped cuz of the rib issue. There is always a line in the shop.its a good place. However, I would recommend as a customer--check the cuts that are presented without worrying about offending the clerk if you feel the meat needs to be swapped out - if you feel its fatty or not a great cut for price, advocate for your own purchase. I feel the rib disappointment was as much our fault for not advocating as theirs for presenting that flawed slab. Sometimes you just make a mistake. We both did that day. I know we will be back for the burgers. Those were crazy good. I dont even like hamburger and I really liked the flavor of them.
