Lovely little coffee shop with the cutest and coziest decor. Small parking with a drive thru. Swung by on our way to a nearby place and enjoyed the ambiance while we sipped on our coffees. Drinks came out quickly and the baristas were all very friendly. My vanilla lavender latte was a bit heavy on the lavender but it was decent. My family enjoyed their drinks as well and we would love to come back and try out some of their tasty looking food items next time we are in the area. Great little spot! read more

Nickel and Bean continues to amaze me and draw me to AND make me stop the quaint village of Lexington Ohio whenever I go thru it! Whelp yelp: Let me tell you... it is WORTH the stop. They have a private parking lot and a drive thru... however I recommend you dont drive thru. Nothing wrong with driving thru... its just the inside is so perfect and welcoming. They have friendly attentive staff and most of all, the way they present their baked goods and the quality of said baked goods is worth the steps inside. Everything is hand created there. Speaking of the food: The breakfast biscuit made on the herbed biscuit is a MUST get. If you don't get one and someone in your party does.. you "will" have food envy. Not even joking. It is that good. We surprised our friends at a dog show down the road ag the richland county fair with breakfast sandwiches and baked goods from Nickel and Bean and they multiple times brought up how good the sammie was. If you havent stopped in... go! Now!!! read more

Tied for the "Best coffee shop on our trip through Georgia-Kentucky-Tennessee-Ohio-Pennsylvania-New York-Canada-Vermont-New Hampshire-Maine-Maryland over 16 days in 2025". There was one in Maine every bit as good. To be fair some states were just drive-through, but we tried coffee shops in all but 2 of those listed. This was a really great place. Quiet, brightly lit, nicely decorated. A quaint mix of old and new. Excellent coffee. Excellent pastries. Roomy enough on a weekday morning. read more

The staff were very kind and have great recommendations for our drink orders. What a great gem of a coffee shop. I stopped in on a whim on my way from Columbus to OSU Mansfield for a work event. The prices are LOW, the quality is HIGH and the people are incredibly friendly. I had a large latte and their signature biscuit with their strawberry jam. The latte was on par with Starbucks. The signature biscuit made in house is amazing. If I'm ever back through here I'm coming just for that biscuit well done read more

I stepped into this cute coffee shop while visiting the area for a family reunion. The line was almost out the door, but I figured I would give the place a chance rather than drive around to look for a different coffee shop. I'm glad I waited! Even though they were clearly experiencing a rush of customers, the staff was amazing and the shop was spotlessly clean! I tried a Vanilla Latte, which was delicious. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area! read more

There breakfast sandwiches were delicious and the pastries were amazing. I had the handmade cinnamon roll. It was so big had to save it for later. The service was great. They were very busy but all the staff were super friendly and greeted everyone as they waked thru the door. The place had plenty of seating and the ambiance was perfect. Highly recommended. read more

Not far off I-71 between Columbus and Akron Nickel and Bean, a former general store, is a destination for coffee lovers and coffee shop explorers. The spacious rooms are sweet spots to kick back with a latte, be inspired, and build community that impacts the future: beams of light reflecting of exposed-brick walls, a community table salvaged from used local materials, hand crafted tables, modern lighting, cozy corners, and a community wall. And the walls do speak. Pictures of the past hang on the walls of the homey study room opposite the book-lined shelves telling the story of a former Lexington that inspires and informs the present. In the community room hangs the original door to the general store that once occupied this space and served the Lexington community. If that door could tell the story of the many members of Lexington who frequented the general store! Much more can be said about their wood-beamed ceiling, dedication to serving excellent coffee for all types of people, and love for all who visit. If you are a group of friends meeting up, a single looking for place to read a book or work on an assignment, a couple needing an intimate yet public space for conversation, someone wanting to enjoy a cold coffee on a sunny day on a patio then Nickel and Bean is the place. read more

In Lexington IN LEXINGTON! Bette Than Fox in the Snow. I grew up in this tiny strip of antique buildings and never expected to have a first rate coffee shop like this when I came home to visit. Bravo. The cheddar herbed biscuit is a perfect crust vs fluff and the handpies are what pop tarts dream to become when they grow up. Everything was delicious. They make it all here too. I had a blackberry latte and the zing took me by surprise. It goes really well with coffee and I have my first unique coffee flavor in some time. My husband got the pour over and the barista was watching weight and temp the whole time. We drank it black. We NEVER drink it black. This is our spot. We wish it were in Columbus, across the street. We wish. read more

I met up with a friend here and it was so nice to sit down on the little couch in the back and talk! I ordered a latte and they made it perfect. It's a beautiful little cafe and I've returned since. I just moved here from SO CAL & went down to Malabar Farms for the afternoon with my Husband, we we're looking for a place to grab a cup of coffee. I looked on YELP and Found this Gem. Although we are residing in Mansfield, It'll be worth the drive to go back! In fact, my friend is coming out in a couple of weeks for a visit and like me, she's a coffee junkie. N&B will be on our list of things to do. Thanks Guys! read more

"A coffee shop fit for a queen"! Nickel and Bean is quite the opposite of your traditional hipster coffee hangout. Think- white marble counters, elevated cake plates topped with sweets, coins adorning the counter wall. This sweet shop transitioned an older building into a eloquent, new-age, modern retreat. Simply lovely. The baristas were an added bonus- friendly, professional, and handsome! read more

It had never before struck me in this way, that the stretch of I 71 in between the city of Columbus and RT 30 might be anything other than the obvious insufferably boring; that it may in fact serve as a kind of fortunate avenue on my never ending exploration for all things memorable; but on this particular Ikea run, fortunate is exactly how it played itself out. I didn't drive it. That's the sole reason I ended up at Nickel and Bean. Another nondescript town, or so I thought. I was lost in the book I was listening to and wasn't paying a lot of attention to the sceneries passing me by. But it caught my eye all the same. A handsome brick building with an attractive blue door, timeless light globes in the window. And the graphics, what did they say? Was it coffee? It all looked so promising that I whipped the van around and in no time, I was asking the guys unpacking furniture outside if they were open. No they said. I'll just walk around and look in the windows I said. And then they were running to unlock the front door and pulling me in with a handshake and apparently I was some sort of special guest of some sort. The rest is history. They let me in and they weren't even open. They paused their training to make me a pour-over and they didn't even charge me. They gave me a guided tour of the place and I was only a stranger off the street. This is the experience I was looking for without even daring to hope. This is the kind of hospitality that makes me think more seriously about a career in journalism. Sprudge? Are you there? The world needs to hear about people like these. read more

Quite disappointing to find that after purchasing a $ 3.05 "large" ( standard decaf coffee / no added frills ) to pair with my cinnamon roll , to have an additional charge of 50 cents just to add a teaspoon of regular milk and one pack Of artificial sweetener to the coffee . I guess that I shall return to the Starbucks located in the Barnes & Noble bookstore in Ontario . Their cup size is larger , and the milk and sweetener are free . So much for my attempt at trying to patronize local merchants ! My total bill for one decaf coffee , one cinnamon roll and a tip Came to $ 9.50 ( I might add that the Nickle & bean "large size" coffee holds the same amount of coffee as Starbucks "medium " size ) read more

Really cool spot and super friendly staff! The coffee was great and the pastries were just as good. The interior is a really cool blend of old & new, I'd honestly go back just to have a cup of Joe inside the place. Nice crew. Very nice ambiance, clean and nice furnishings. Restored building with exposed hand hewn ceiling beams and some brick walls. Coffees are pre-brewed which helps keep the line and drive thru moving but pour over is available. I'm a tea drinker and there is a good selection of herbal and robust black teas. Nice selection of pastries along with some healthy stuff that doesn't interest me but it looked tempting. read more

Really love the decor and style of the shop! The food is also so so good (we usually get the breakfast sandwich without bacon, cookies, and cinnamon roll) and drinks are good too! So far we have tried the iced chai, iced caramel latte with almond and whole milk, iced tea, and bottled water which were all really good! The only reason I gave 4 stars is that sometimes my stomach hurts afterwards but everyone else I go with doesn't have that issue so maybe it's me! If your looking for a comfortable and friendly place to sit and do school work or relax, here is awesome! read more

If you want great coffee drinks, amazing pastry selections and friendly, personal service in a super clean, attractive setting, Nickel and Bean does not disappoint. Have been there 3 times this week and every experience kept me coming back. My Blackberry Vanilla Latte, Raspberry Vanilla Latte and latte with coconut milk were all tasty and spot on. There is a large selection of scones and muffins as well as a breakfast menu. The espresso is smooth and the baristas know what they are doing. There is ample space and the well designed interior provides several nooks for different sized coffee "dates." The drive thru service is convenient without feeling rushed. WOWZA! I love my little hometown of Lexington, but I have always said there needs to be a coffee shop. When I walked into Nickel & Bean for the first time my breath was taken away. It's a second home kind of feel. The people, the furniture, the decor, the coffee and the food would all receive tens in my book. Quality place.
