I went to 1285 with my husband and friends, and we had such a great experience! I really love their fruit wines, and they also have a wonderful cocktail menu. I've ordered pizza both times we've visited, and it was delicious each time. Their cheese curds are absolutely amazing! They have a beautiful outdoor area, and we had great servers on both visits. The service, food, drinks, and atmosphere have all been wonderful. I highly recommend paying 1285 a visit. We will definitely be going back! read more

My wife and I took mom out for a Sunday brunch. I'm usually not a big fan of 1285; however, today's visit was a totally different experience. Our waitress was more seasoned professional with a great personality than we've had here in the past. Our food was presented well and served relatively quickly. I enjoyed their grinder adding tater tots and pea salad, my wife their quiche, and mom tried their Montecristo with broccoli salad. All the dishes were delicious! My Manhattan was perfectly made and my mom enjoyed her adult blueberry lemonade. Looks like we'll have to come back again! read more

This review is about our dining experience at the 1285 Winery, and not The Blueberry Patch itself. The ambience was lovely, and we dined on the patio after lunch rush. Sadly, the staff and management proved to be dysfunctional. Our waitress was scarce even with plenty of empty tables. There were 5 of us total, and 3 of us had problems. One ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich and it came to the table without any meat in it (really ?!?!). Another at my table found a foil wrapped pat of butter in her broccoli-raisin salad (whaaat?!??). The restaurant's initial solution was to finger-point and to drag employees from the kitchen out to make apologies. The focus should have been on customer service (us), not employee training. When the bills came, everything was full price. The MC sandwich was not even priced as a grilled cheese. After much discussion and long wait periods, the waitress came back and compensated 40% of the two meals. And then there was my check for a meal that only cost approximately $28. They rang it up closer to $38 with a line item that was completely random. Could they simply remove the erroneous charge? No. They had already rung the full amount through my bank (I paid with debit card), then presumably ran a credit to offset it (not showing yet in my bank app), and then had to run a completely separate ticket for the correct amount for me to sign. All of this took way too much discussion and a very looong time, when I would have rather been enjoying The Blueberry Patch. It will take a few days for everything to settle at my bank, so fingers crossed I'll not have been price-gouged in the end. read more

This is a local staple in my hometown. Anytime I go visit family, this is likely where we are getting food. I haven't had a single meal from here I don't like! We started with an appetizer and a bottle of wine. They have a big assortment of fruit wines which I'm not too fond of but I know they are a local favorite. Give me the driest red on the menu. The new building is spectacular. It would be great for a wedding venue. I think there was a birthday party on the patio while we were there. Props to the Beilstein family for such a beautiful building. It was pretty busy so we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. We tried to get a reservation about a week ahead because it's always been busy in my experience, but I was told they no longer do reservations. Given that it was busy, our waitress, although very friendly, was slow. We eventually were asked if we would like our waters refilled when she brought out the check. And we watched the party of two sat and get their drinks and an appetizer before our bottle was brought to the table. I've been here many times, so I'll chalk the service up to them being busy and let it slide, given that I will more likely than not be back soon! read more

First, I love picking blueberries at The Blueberry Patch, so this review has nothing to do with The Blueberry Patch (or their wonderful pies and donuts!). My husband and I drove out to pick blueberries yesterday and decided to have lunch at the winery. First, we waited for at least 15 minutes before the hostess even appeared. She knew there were people there because the five people (two groups) in front of us had already put in their names. When she finally showed up, we were told it would be ten or fifteen minutes. It was 30. To be clear, the restaurant was not swamped with people. In fact, because it was raining, there were probably fewer people than usual. There seemed to be only two servers, and they were doing the best they could, I think, but everything was very slow. The menu isn't extensive, and it's not complicated food, so it was hard to figure out what was taking so long. When the food finally came, it was less than stellar. I had the chicken salad with blueberries and allegedly toasted pecans. It was overly dressed with an aggressively vinegary dressing. The pea salad on the side was strange. I think it had paprika in it, which is an odd choice in my opinion. The blueberry muffin was excellent though. Anyway, next time we pick blueberries, I think we'll find somewhere else to eat. read more

1285 Winery is located in the middle of a blueberry farm, so what kind of wine do you think they produce? If you guessed blueberry wine, give yourself a gold (or blue) star! I typically don't like Midwest wines at all because they are always very sweet. But I told the bartender that I wanted their most dry wine they had, and he gave me a sample of the dry blueberry wine. It was very good! It was actually dry, and just a smidgen sweet (instead of sweet and just a smidgen dry like many Midwest wines). I bought a bottle of their dry wine and shared it with family at Thanksgiving. We also got lunch at the winery, and the food was OK. They offer sandwiches and pastas and pizzas, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. What I would come back for is to try more wine. They also have a little gift shop and a bakery case with cake slices, muffins and other goodies. We sat indoors, which is beautiful, by the way, and it can be rented for parties and weddings and things. But 1285 Winery also has a patio that overlooks their blueberry patches, and it looks like a nice place to hang out when the weather is nice. read more

Not my favorite stop of our weekend. We came in for a wine tasting and were told to sit at the bar since we were just doing wine. The bartender seemed annoyed and/or agitated that she had to serve us. The space is beautiful and open. They offered a variety of wines to sample for a small fee. There was a pair of women who got their wines before we had ordered. We were glad to see this as the pours were definitely more than 1-2 oz. We each ordered a few wines to try. I really enjoyed the sweet Riesling and the mixtape. Overall, the service could have been a bit more friendly. Not sure I'd return. read more

I gave him my card, I literally watched him tap a tip option on the screen and when he handed it back to me the new total was $37.45. I am from out of state and didn't want to create a problem, so I just signed and left. And left a 20% tip on the fraudulent receipt too. Even though the pizzas are good I don't think I'll ever go back. Over the years our reviews have been mixed. When they first started serving wine many years ago, my husband and I went in and had a tasting. The owner was pouring and became a bit cocky when we did not find one we liked. There was a limited selection and the flavors just had not matured. We went back over the years and it was ok but nothing nothing special. Fast forward to this year. I had a corporate luncheon for work. I called a few weeks before to be sure they did the pizzas for lunch. The lady assured me they did. We were looking to do 6-7 pizzas. That morning when we called in the order..guess what they do not do pizzas. So we pulled up the menu they had online and everyone made their choices. As our employee was on the way to pick up the order, they had 2 sandwiches they no longer make but we're still on the menu And some employees did not get lunch. Overall it was a huge hassle and our company will not be orderI got again. We went to the restaurant a week or 2 after this and I did ask to speak with the owner about this if he was around. The son came out and all I can say is what a jerk. He apologized, but was never willing to do anything to make it right, other than make sure the people who answer the phone know they cannot do pizzas. When I told him about the rest of the hassles and explained how we often do lunches, he was just defensive and finally said well it seems like we are doing pretty well. Won't be back and I know from living in the area and word of mouth many businesses and people do not care for the arrogance and rudeness of the owners and some of the people they employee. read more

We were on our way to a winery and this winery popped up. My wife was hungry and wanted to get a bite to eat. She said this places looked nice. We stopped here to sample wine. Andrew the manager was our waiter. He came out and said it was 3 tastings at $11, which is a bit steep but okay. I had the Cab, Chardonnay and dry blueberry. All of these were very good. So smooth. My wife had the apple cider wine, it came with cinnamon around the top of the glass and it was amazing. We told Andrew how impressed we were. He told us more about the wine that they have. They get the apples from one of the best places in Ohio. In addition of where the juice comes from for the other wines. We purchased a case of wine. Andrew came back with a wine holder and two wine glasses for us. This was a complimentary gift for purchasing a case. He didn't have to do that. He is a very nice person and that was thoughtful. If I could give this place a negative rating, I would. We had an autistic adult with us and after seeing him and the children, we were told a 15-20 minute wait. I'm fine with waiting but you had open tables. We didn't get to eat here but honestly, it reminded me how glad I am that I no longer live there. You aren't a Boston or NYC establishment, you are in Lexington, Ohio, a place no one cares about and you snubbed customers. I've never had this happen to me at any other restaurant in my life. I hate to denigrate a local business, but lots of changes need to be made here. The positive points: the self-pick blueberries are a great pastime. The gift shop looked nice. On the other hand, for the restaurant specifically, there's not much good to say. The food was expensive and just this side of school cafeteria quality. No one in our party had anything good to say about their meal. Some felt a bit ill after eating. The service was extremely slow albeit friendly. Only a fraction of the available tables were occupied and people were walking away from the hostess stand after hearing it would be an hour wait. And it was easily that long - an hour from the time we sat down until our food came out. I heard a rumor that the servers were all new. The same must have been true for the cooks and whoever designed the menu as well. It was a regrettable visit. We were married at 1285 this past Saturday. The ceremony and the reception both on their new Patio. The setting was spectacular. The rolling blueberry fields, the pond, the pasture- all visible from the patio- were the perfect backdrop. Even the worst cellphone snapshot looked amazing! The rustic charm of the patio with its string lights and ferns in addition to the view were all the decor needed. The staff was incredible. Not one detail was missed. The food was amazing the and service was spectacular. What could have been a stressful day was flawless. Lisa and her staff took care of everything. She ensured that the day went smoothly and we were taken care of. The event exceeded our expectations and we've been told by everyone who attended that they also had an exceptional experience. My partner had a grinder and a broccoli salad, our daughter had (and loved) a bowl of chicken noodle soup and I had the chicken salad, pea salad, and gluten-free blueberry muffin. I felt the quality of the food was subpar or mediocre at best. I felt I was paying solely for the atmosphere which was nice. The service was decent also. I am not sure if the prices are always that high or if it was because of fathers day, and this also may reflect on the food. It almost felt as if the foods may have been packaged foods and sorta reheated. The price was definitely too high for what we got. My Philly steak sandwich was actually pretty pathetic, store bought hoagie bun with standard frozen chipped steak and cheez wiz, $21. That was outrageous! My wife's cheeseburger was okay, had a slightly off flavor, but literally had no seasoning, had to ask for salt. My Mom's chicken salad was nearly non existent, it was a croissant with a very small amount of chicken salad for $17! My Dad's Brisket was in my opinion the worst, it was dry, grizzly and over cooked. At $27 that was very disappointing. I guess the best thing on the table were my son's "bbq ribs", but I suspect those were a prepared food and just reheated... The sides were okay, just filler to try and justify the high prices, but I don' think we would have missed them if they weren't there. The portion size was okay though, no one was hungry at the end of the meal but then again no one was very satisfied either at the end of the meal... Will I be returning to eat, NO! I may come back to have a drink, or pick some blueberries or grab a donut, but I will not recommend your location for food... In fact if it hadn't been Father's day, if this wasn't a gift for my family and in-laws, I would have sent the food back. I spent over $200 on a very basic and flavorless meal. Wood fired pizzas (we got 3 for our group) were superb. 5/5 stars. Service was excellent (5/5). The only down- side was the fact that this place is a winery and they have suspended their wine flights (2/5). You either buy 3 or 4 glasses to determine what you like, or take a chance on a bottle. Our waiter capitulated to give us 2 tastes. We then purchased a split a glass to taste 2 wines using our previous glasses. Best scenario. Ostensibly this was because the establishment wants to reduce glassware use in times of COVID. It would be better to provide disposable clear plastic glasses for the tastes. I am the president of the Ohio Bacchus society, (www.FineRedWine.com, Columbus) and it poses real challenges when a winery doesn't provide tastings. Difficult to rate the wines. what to do on a beautiful Ohio fall day? stop and experience our wineries. We chose to experience Mansfield, Ohio and found this local winery at The Blueberry Patch. They get their fruit or the juices from other farms and they are a newer winery.. founded in 2014!. They have a big wood fire oven to make fired pizzas and offer cheese plates and other menu items and we will try another time as we had brunch at their blueberry patch cafe. The wines you can order a flight to share or by the glass or enjoy a bottle. Not surprising they have a blueberry bliss which is sweet.. and yet not too sweet and a dryer blueberry which was wonderful. The staff are attentive and really helpful which we appreciate anyone who wants to talk and share their craft. read more
