Can't say I have been to winery quite like Sunny Slope! Very hospital and comfortable, with a chill hangout vibe unlike the more "traditional" wineries. Known for their wine slushies, they do not dissapoint! Very sweet and smooth while still able to have the wine recognizable. What a unique place! My wife and I sort of stumbled upon this place on a Saturday night in August. I say sort of stumbled upon it, because we did research wineries in the area ahead of time, but we didn't know anything about it until we pulled in. We were surprised to find a winery in a former old gas station on a state route in the middle of nowhere! There was an outdoor area, with tents covering the seating, and a food truck, but along with most people, we rushed inside because of the storm that night. I was pleasantly surprised! It was more of a rural bar feel, but definitely a focus on wine, instead of your run of the mill watering hole with beer and liquor. There was a sandwich deli inside also with dessserts. The wine was pretty good, not terribly memorable (but I am writing this nearly a year later), but what I do remember is how it felt to go in and hang out here. And I want to return! On the particular Saturday night we were there, there was a live rock band playing. The staff was really great to recommend food and drink and help us out, the other people in the place were a good/nice crowd, and the place was unlike any I'd been to. Very friendly staff. There was an adorable Taylor Swift event that attracted the younger female crowd. Not quite what we expected at a winery but enjoyable to see the event. The weather cooperated and we were able to sit outside on one of the many picnic tables. There was a stage in the area so I suspect they must have an occasional band. They also had a food truck. If you are visiting Mohican State Park this is a great place to stop for a few drinks and even a bite to eat at their deli. Prices are great for wine tastings and food. My date and I got paninis for 5 bucks each. For $8 you can pair them with a soda and chips or a cookie. We ended up trying all of the wines we could. They also had some slushies and other drinks that were pretty tasty. Be warned, they mostly specialize in sweeter wines, so if you're a connoisseur looking for some deep and rich merlots and cabernet sauvignon, you will likely not be impressed. But if you want some tasty alcoholic juice, this place definitely hits the mark. Live music was available while we were there, but it was inside instead of at their outdoor stage. That was a little disappointing, but we enjoyed our food and drinks on a chilly night outside anyway. We ended up leaving with a case of delicious, albeit sweet, wine that we've only finished half of as of yet. We're working on it. read more

Super cute place with a welcoming staff! My family and I rented a home in Big Prairie for the weekend, and stopped here on a whim, and Sunny Slope did not disappoint! Not quite a general store....more a deli/wine counter, but we enjoyed our visit. Plenty of seating. We ordered samples, and wine slushees, along with a meat/cheese box, which was more than enough for the 6 of us. The Slap wine flavor did not disappoint, we all enjoyed the samples and also had slushees in the same flavor. My favorite wine, which I also purchased by the bottle, was the Mango flavor....it was delicious! This could be 5 star if this were truly a general store. I would have loved to see some Amish goodies, such as jams/jellies etc., for purchase. I would absolutely return to this quaint place! read more

As long as you don't expect a Napa valley winery experience, you'll have a great time! The building is a general store, and tastings are available at the large bar counter. Each tasting is a steal at 50 cents, so we ended up tasting all of the wines and ending with a glass of our favorite. Again, don't expect the best wines you've ever tasted- most of the wines are fruit wines, and the traditional wines are made skin imported grapes. Our favorites were the apple (small batch/seasonal) and the elderberry. The only thing we really didn't like was the honey mead which smelled like baby wipes. The lady behind the counter also gave us kettle corn while we were tasting which was definitely necessary given how much we ended up drinking! Overall, would definitely recommend coming here if you're in the area. Ps. They also have wine slushees if that's more your style! read more

This was a great winery. I was first introduced to this winery via Instagram. It came up as a place to check out. For the past 6 months, I've been wanting to check this winery out. We had planned a trip and finally got to check it out this past weekend. It lived up to my expectations. The winery owners were very charming. She explained the history of the winery, and what new wines they were going to be releasing soon. I've met a lot of nice owners, but this place is unique. She was probably one of nicest, if not the nicest owners I've met during our wine adventures all over the US. I prefer dry - semi-dry wines. I normally do not try sweet wines that often. However, all of their wines were good. The Cabernet Franc and elderberry were my two favorites. I look forward to stopping here again when we are in the area. Oh, and the band was a one-man band. This guy I think was Rolando Pizana. He was very awesome! I highly recommend visiting this place. It will be worth your while. read more

I love the review that starts with "as long as you're not expecting a Napa Valley experience..." Such a great description and great way to start the review because it's so true. Just a small road side winery in the country. They've only been open a couple of years and there is so much potential for growth here. The wines are good; not amazing but I'd say from good to great. I love their wine descriptions and stories behind the names. I'd love to see this place give up on the 'convenient store' mind set that the family has been involved with for many years and go full fledged winery. Although the thought of ordering a pound and a half of bologna while enjoying a quick glass of pino while they slice my lunch meat is kinda cool and comical at the same time. So many things you could use this space and meat counter for. I love the Millersburg/Berlin area so I will 100% be back and I'd like to come back and check this place out again. Oh heck......that sounded like the end of review and in my mind, it was. Came across this winery while camping for 4th of July. We sampled 13 different wines and didn't find one we didn't like. They also had 4 different flavored wine slushes to sample which were really good so I ordered a full size of the peach. They also offer to go mason jars of the slushes and sangria.
