Took almost three hours in total for someone to take our order, get our food, and get our check; definitely not the place to go if you're on a time crunch. That being said... this was one of the highlights of our trip to amsterdam. The potatoes were cooked to perfection and the topping and flavor combinations were DELICIOUS. I ate every bite and it was worth the wait. Vegan and vegetarian friendly as well!
A little different but oh so good. Nothing but baked potatoes and salad yet they don't recommend the salad since it comes with the baked potato. Too funny but not joking. The size of their baked potatoes is massive! Bring your appetite. See related photo for the massive size of these potatoes! Tip - there is a much more quiet and rustic downstairs area with tables. That is also where the bathrooms are. Wish i knew about that before we sat but upstairs does give you the street view and people watching. Oh, the potato was exceptional.
This place serves up gourmet baked potatoes. You can choose from a variety of toppings ranging from chicken salad to Thai green vegetable curry and everything in between. During my recent trip my friend ordered a vegetarian chili topped with copious amounts of cheese on her baked potato. I ordered A Thai green vegetable curry which was the coconut-based, topped with a ground nut mixture containing pistachio and spices. It was absolutely delicious. You can get a small size potato or a large sized potato, however their smaller one is more than enough for 1 person. We love coming here when we are in the mood for something different, and their baked potato combinations are not only tasty, but very filling. So the next time you are in Amsterdam and feel like eating something different and hearty, this is the place to go!
A pleasant change of pace if you eat many dinners in Amsterdam. If you're only in Amsterdam for 5 or 6 days, there are many other restaurants for you to visit. If you're in Amsterdam for an extended interval, Jacketz is a good change of pace. They serve liquor and the room is comfortable. There is also a dining room downstairs and outdoor seating. The potatoes are tasty, but not something that will really make you want to return.
One of the best places I visited while in Amsterdam. My friend got a potato to go and let us all try it...so we all went back the next day. I ordered the salmon potato with bacon and a side of tartar sauce. The potato is huge (and I got a medium) and has a nice side salad on the side - the presentation is impeccable. We dined in and enjoyed the cozy lower-level. One of the things that was memorable (besides the food) was the music. There were some nice hip-hop tunes that I "Shazaamed" and saved to my phone. Overall it was a great experience but the service is SLOW. We visited three times between takeout and dining in and each time it took an unreasonably long time for our food to be ready - longer than any restaurant that we visited while in Amsterdam.

All the filings & toppings blended so well & tasty amazing. Ambience: I would say ambience is nice & casual. I loved the vibe. Everybody in there seemed to love food, as much I did. Definitely recommended .
Popular little place. They have whole and half potatoes or greens as a base. You can then pick toppings (with some interesting options like fish stew and curry). The potatoes are pretty large. The inner part of the potato I think is taken out and mixed with creme fraiche and salt and pepper. It changed the texture from what I expected but not bad. Just a bit softer than a "normal" baked potato. The bacon bits were good and plentiful. I would have preferred cheddar cheese and maybe a dollop of sour cream on top but that's just me. They have beer and wine options. And some desserts. Service was okay. If you like baked potatoes, then give this place a try.
Jacketz, as suggested by the name, a pretty cool name might I add, offers jacket potatoes, which you might know as baked potatoes. I called here wanting to try this after great reviews and wanting to try a baked potato while in Amsterdam, this place does offer UberEATS but the prices cost a lot more, with one potato, in particular, costing around 5 euros before the 2.5 euro delivery fee. The staff here seemed quite nice/friendly, although I did only have interaction with one of them, there was a short wait for a seat as with many popular eateries in Amsterdam. The menu selection was interesting, with a 1 euro difference between a half and a large potato, but the portion sizes were huge, as I recall the potato was 340 grams. My main issue with the menu was the toppings, although they did have a selection, it would have been nice to have some "English" toppings such as tuna mayo, baked beans and coronation chicken (although they did offer a chicken salad) I decided to go for the pulled pork option, which has a charge of 7 euro, the topping amount was very generous but it wasn't great on a potato, the sauce was nice but it did get pretty boring quickly and the pork was slightly chewy at times. My friend ordered cheese and hummus (with the hummus on the side), the hummus tasted fresh and good quality and well worth the extra euro. The potato its-self was a very good quality one, it was seasoned well and didn't have lumps which many baked potatoes have. Inside, the decor is pretty small and compact, with a slightly open kitchen at the top. Decent quality food to warrant a three-star rating but for an improvement adding a better range of toppings and making UberEATS prices more general to the ones charged when dining in would be immediate and urgent starts.
Wow! Such a unique little spot in the middle of an alley filled with shops, restaurants, and even a little hotel. The food was incredible and there is a nice selection of local beer, a variety of wine, and other non-alcoholic drinks. I ordered the chili con carne and it was so nice and filling. My husband ordered one of the classics, the curry potato, which had incredible flavor. If you love potatos, this place is a must try when in Amsterdam!

Came to Jacketz as it was literally right around the corner from our hotel and I was in extremely high need of carbs as I had barely eaten all day. Didn't hurt that this was the closest thing to Dutch food that I've ever had outside of stroopwafels! Got the Full Jacketz (er, full potato) with traditionally stewed beef. Normally, I would never go for something like this because of it being so carb heavy. But man, this hit so hard that night! First off, the potato was baked perfectly. Like I don't even eat baked potatoes and I knew this was the right way to serve this. Potato skin was crispy, the inside was the right amount of soft, and was topped with heapings of beef. The beef was really well seasoned and went very well with the potato. Staff were fine, no complaints from me on this end. Like I said, not my cup of tea generally. But in a great time of need, Jacketz definitely came through! read more

My mouth is watering thinking about this baked potato. Everything about it was perfection: the crispy skin, the fluffy interior, the scrumptious topping. I ordered a half jacket which is very good for one person, but if you're starving or want leftovers, get a full! The music playlist is actually reason enough to go; my sister and I jammed out the entire time! Excellent change of pace and a completely unique restaurant. read more

My potato was amazing. I didn't even get a chance to take a before picture but I was able to capture the after lol and I think it speaks volumes. The staff was really nice and explained the menu very well. I'm pescatarian so I got the veggie chili option. read more

Really nice and cheap carb loaded food. Potatoes are much better source of carbs then bread, and it's hard to find filling food for cheap that meets my carb macros without having to eat bread. I got the half jacket with hot pulled pork and garlic sauce.my wife got half jacket with cold chicken salad. The sauce with hers was amazing, ask the waitress for recommendations. Got mint tea after and that was also awesome, they even went and got fresh mint for us. Total was €27. Awesome place, almost went back again. But so many new things to try. read more

Tiny little place tucked in a steeet but potatoes were amazing. This is my first time trying baked potatoes in such fancy avatar. Ordered with vegetarian chilli along with Gouda topping and it was goood. Perfectly baked potatoes with minimal seasoning. Even half potato is more than enough. read more

I have been to Amsterdam twice and I've come back to this restaurant for dinner once each of these trips. It is reasonably priced and has so many options. They are really nice and carb loaded ( beware if you are on a diet) and they are very filling. You can choose what size of potato you want, and what meat/filling, and if you want any toppings(cheese, sour cream, bacon, onions, sauces etc). The service is very fast. I would highly recommend making a reservation because this restaurant always seems to be crowded on weekends, especially in the evenings. Its off of the main street in an amazing location-close to train station, shops, and museums. The first time I went was on a Tuesday evening around 6pm. I walked in with my grandma and we didn't have a reservation. However, it wasn't super crowded and they were able to seat us at their downstairs seating area. I ordered a full potato(yes, this is very large) with the traditional stewed beef, and added cheese and bacon. I also got a side salad that came with it. I also got an elderflower cider to drink. The second time I came here I was a little disappointed. Only because I had loved the stewed beef so much I wanted it again-and they said they were out of it and of the carne. I ended up getting the pork. It was on the dry side but it was still pretty good. Overall, this restaurant is in an amazing area with very polite staff, and gives quick, efficient service. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Amsterdam! read more

Loved this sweet little restaurant! If you love jacket potatoes- you're in for a real treat. The food was excellent and quick (even though they were pretty busy) and the outdoor seating along the alley was really nice. The chicken salad potato was the winner for us. They have a nice variety of dishes though read more

Best baked potatoes..... maybe ever. It's not just a potato, not even just a loaded baked potato, these are just magical! Pick a full or half jacket and load it up with chili, salmon, chicken salad, veggies and so much more. Too hard to explain, you'll just have to try it. I promise, you won't be disappointed. read more
