The Mavis location at 300 N. Queen Street in Lancaster, PA is amazing. A "model" for other Mavis locations. We had an emergency tire need while in Lancaster on vacation. We stopped by this Mavis location to repair our tire with a screw in it, and they treated us like family! Professional, friendly and empathic to our need while very far from home. Sebastian in particular was incredibly nice and had our tire fixed in no time! We highly recommend this location and will always remember the kindness they showed us. read more

Great service - addressed my issue same day - explained the issue and gave me options - I went with their recommendation which was not high pressure at all read more

Not a good company. I've had issues at 2 different locations. No one pays attention when you talk to them and they are rude.

Took my old minivan in and told them I didn't wanna spend a lot of money on it for the inspection. They called me. They were super nice. They were super honest. It was a little bit more than I wanted, but everything that they did made the car drive like it was brand new and I feel like it was worth even more than what I paid Highly recommend this business. Since that inspection drove the car all the way to the bottom of North Carolina in the Outer Banks and up to Chicago without a worry in the world drove better than it had in 10 years. read more

Going on vacation I must've damaged my front tire as it was loosing air. Of course I didn't notice this until about 6pm on Thursday 8/24/2023. I was in a small town in PA, I couldn't find any service centers that were open. I Googled and found JACK WILLIAMS and found that they were open until 8.30pm!! This place was 30 minutes away but I made it there and I was taken care of within 15 minutes of arrival. They had my tire size in stock, ended up buying 2 new front tires and got the TPMS fixed and sensors calibrated. All within 1 hour of arrival. Excellent service, will recommend anytime. read more

Two years ago I found the best deal on four tires for my vehicle at this location. Today March 26 I found that a tire had a small nail and was leaking. I arrived at Jack Williams at 2:30 pm and they took the car in very soon after. The repair was completed in 45 minutes but the best part is that the service person said there was no charge!! Then he told me I had purchased the warranty at the time of purchase and I had completely forgot about it. I highly recommend the Jack Williams store at North Queen and Walnut streets for your next purchase. read more

Make sure when you get a quote on the phone for them to send it email. After they installed my tires my charge was $70.00 more and then deny the price they quoted!!!!! You won't see this on their website because there is no where to add it. read more

Friendly and knowledgable staff with affordable prices. Oil changes are fast and easy. You cant go wrong here!!!

I blew out my front passenger on 20 minutes before close and a couple of miles from the shop. The kind folks in shop stayed after hours to put on a new tire and get me back on the road. I would highly recommend if you're looking for or in need of fast, quality service read more

Used to be very fair and customer centric in the past. Now that they have changed ownership, seems that they look to add services and parts not needed. What is worse, the verbal estimates are very vague and not accurate. For example, I was told I needed new brakes, ok.. but they also replaced the rotors without telling me... the explanation was that this was normal practice when replacing brakes. For me, regardless, this should have been spelled out.. especially when it adds $800 to my bill. My trust and confidence in this place has gone to zero. read more

Very smoothly run operation, especially for being in the city limits. Kind and professional staff that mean to serve their customers well, and they succeed. One of the best values for quality vs price Ive ever found in a auto shop. read more

I've had some pretty negative experiences at the Queen Street, Lancaster location but I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt because it's close to my work and convenient. Customer service is fine and the people are very courteous, but the actual work performed is below par. My tires (that I bought from them) were losing air every week or 2 and the light would come on. I went to them 3 times before they found a nail in one tire, then was told I'd used up all of my free service and would have to pay the next time. Even the front desk person said he didn't know how they missed the nail the first 2 times. This wasn't a dealbreaker though. We took my husband's truck in for inspection and my husband warned me he'd probably need new brakes. However, they said the truck inspected fine and had no issues. So my husband asked his neighbor (who works on cars) about the grinding noise and he suggested we stop driving immediately. My husband replaced the brakes himself and found a pile of metal shavings under the brakes where the caliper was grinding against the rotor. We think they were too lazy to pull off the wheels and check since it's kind of a hassle. Again, not a dealbreaker, but not wonderful. The real issue was the check engine light coming on in my Prius. They replaced the thermostat first but it came back on soon after, so they replaced the 3-way control valve. Then it came on intermittently for the next 6 months. In that time they tried bleeding the system for air bubbles. Eventually they replaced the valve again under warranty. Then I took the car home and lost heat within a week. They bled it for air bubbles again and it worked for 5 days. Then they suggested taking it to the dealer because it might be a computer issue. My husband looked at it hoping he could bleed it again and saw that the valve wasn't attached properly--one of the bolts was loose and another was possibly busted. The Toyota dealer said the valve was an aftermarket part from China and a pin test showed 2 pins at 24.0 ohm when they should be .04k ohm. They also said the installation was very shabby: the valve was not bolted down in the car (just hanging from hoses), the wires were pinched, and bolts were missing. It took them an extra day to fix it. Toyota charged me $95 for labor and $95 for the OEM valve. Jack Williams had charged $165 for the aftermarket valve and $277 for labor. read more

Just had my tires replaced at their Queen Street location. Staff was informed, efficient and courteous. It too about a half hour longer tan than expected, but the results were very good. The price is competitive with other vendors. read more

Literally asked the office assistant to make sure that my maintenance reminder was reset as I was paying my bill. He assured me that it had been taken care of as he handed me the keys. Two minutes down the road, I looked, and sure enough, it was missed causing me to spend the time to research how to do it myself. Not a huge deal but just an example of poor customer service. read more

We walked in to purchase a set of tires, In the middle of waiting on us the phone rang and instead of putting the person on hold, the sale girl let us wait 10 minutes til we walked out she was still on the phone Worst customer service Sales clerk was clueless on how to give good customer service read more

if i could I would give minus 5 stars. they should be out of business. take your car in for inspection and oil change and was told total bill was $54 and change. but, when I picked up my car they charged me $142.49. way too much for what I had done. why would anybody miss quote balance due ? stay away from this garage, plus every time you go in there are different people working there, there is no consistancey to the work force. have dealt with this garage for almost 20 years, but no longer! stay away from JACK WILLIAMS they will over charge you. read more

Stay away from this very dishonest business. They ripped me off big time on an inspection, and I've heard many similar reports.

If I could give no stars, I would. We recently went to Jack Williams and they said they fixed the belt and ball joint of our vehicle. It had been making this horrible screeching sound. Not even a day later, the noise continued. Therefore, we decided to take our car to another place. They said whomever worked on your car did not fix the ball joint, nor did they fix the belt. They just stretched it until it was super thin. This is not the first time we've left Jack Williams and still had issues with our vehicles. We wasted over $400 on this transaction. Please do your research. This is not a good company to have anything done. read more

I ran over a curb pretty hard yesterday-- so hard in fact that my car was shaking and wobbling afterwards. I thought I had really F'd something up, so I called these guys first thing this morning. They told me to bring my car right in and they had the work done (including an oil change that I requested) in a couple of hours. Turns out the right front tire just needed to be rebalanced. They really could have trumped up the whole thing but they did not - they were honest about what needed to be done and it cost a total of $87 for the tire rebalance and a high-mileage oil change. I was very pleased with the entire experience! read more

I had a terrible experience buying tires at Jack Williams and I have no doubt you will too. Recently I bought tires there and made a very specific request about how I wanted the tires installed. They said they'd have to check. Half-hour later they came back, and said it wasn't "store policy" to install the tires they way I wanted. What's more, instead of checking back with me, they went ahead and installed the tires the wrong way without asking. The employees at this location are complete idiots. If you buy tires here, you will feel like an unwanted interruption in their day rather than a valued customer. Also they spent a lot of time trying to "upsell" me on additional maintenance services, which was annoying at best. read more

I have gone to this location due to it's convenience since it was Lebzelters, and the last year I always felt like I was being upsold but this experience was the worst. I took my car to fix a flat and then they did a check and told me I needed new sway bar links on one side, breaks, and an oil change. They told me my breaks and the links should be addressed soon. I called the next week to see a quote for replacing both links and they quoted me $278. I scheduled it for this week and when I dropped it off, I was quoted again at $288 and I gladly signed off on it. I told them I was waiting until next pay day to fix anything else. I got a call and they then told me my breaks were perfect and the original quote was wrong and then gave me 6 other items that needed to be fixed. I questioned why my breaks were bad one week and two weeks later were "really good" and they said they wrote down the wrong numbers. I went in to get my car and they raised the price again for about $330 some dollars. I asked why it went up and it took 3 people to tell me why it did. Eventually, they blamed it on shop fees and I didn't get a clear answer of why it's on there? Shouldn't that be labor? It was a super awkward situation, but I feel as though if it's going to be a quote it should be transparent of everything. I'm also concerned that I didn't even need sway links and it was just a set up to up sell. I tried contacting customer support via email and phone and got no response. I'm really disappointed and upset and feel like I'm ripped off. I would proceed with caution and get a second opinion. read more

Don't go here. Went for an inspection and failed. Guys tried to charge me for my back calibers and recommend my brakes when I find out from a second mechanic that my tires were rusted to the car and there was no way they could see the state of my brakes or callibars without taking the wheels off. Almost spent 800$. Tried taking it back and they wouldn't pass my car. Took it to a third that can do state inspections and they passed her. Place is a rip off. read more

My daughter took her car here for inspection. They told her in order to pass she needed her back brakes done and to get her door latched fixed. It would be $600. We decided for her to get a second opinion. She came home and went to my mechanic. The door only needed a screw tightened. The brakes were fine. Total for inspection was $47. Please beware of this place! read more

My wife took the car to get inspected. Unfortunately, They tried to tell her she needed to replace a working fog light and said it would be $250 plus labor. The car is a 2009 Mazda. I could buy two brand new old stock fog lights for $59.50. They didn't pass the inspection so we went to another garage and they passed it with no issue. I would not recommend a garage that tries to rip you off. I hope this helps. read more
