Beautiful light display, holiday tunes, and merchants selling wares for last minute shopping. Nice to have another Winter Season event option here in our Biggest Little City. Great to have a suite for holiday parties and a room to retreat to when exploring all the festivities at the field.

The playground has three different play structures all located in the playground area. There is a toddler playground. There are toddler swings. There are not any swings for the bigger kids. There is a dome to climb on. There is soft padding underneath the playground. There are several picnic tables throughout the park. There are two covered eating areas with several picnic tables. Nice use of the old stadium property…read more Since the new Ace's ballpark was built downtown, this spot has been converted to soccer fields. The space actually looks much improved- well maintained grass, new fencing and elimination of deteriorating buildings. This sight has a regulation adult field and two junior fields. Plenty of easy parking on both the east and west sides of the fields. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, lawn chairs, and your own shade. There are no trees for blocks and only grass to sit on. How many days did I spend in that…read morehot sun waiting for a good game to break out between the Reno team and whoever was in town, I will never know. But now, it's been turned over to the more exciting and captivating sport of soccer. Yes I LOVE baseball, but soccer has grabbed my attention. The immediacy of each touch and second makes it a nail biter even when it's a scoreless game. So we were here for a UNR women's game against St. Mary. The UNR women were dominated the whole first half but were able to make the right substitutions and bring the game home 2-1. It was a good game....but it would have been better to watch at Mackay where everyone can see. These fields are better suited for the family size games where it only get's "one deep" on the sidelines. Of course the advantage here is that you are REALLY close to the action, as opposed to having the action across the track and on the field at Mackay. As I said in my tip, the grass is pretty nice too. Parking was plentiful when I was there, but it may be horrible when the family goes down there for the youth soccer weekend games. Our daughter is on bigger fields, bigger fields that aren't as nice. You can tell this whole space is still in a slow process of re-purposing with the empty foundations and the now oddly placed park structures all about. But the park is really coming along and we look forward to more improvements in the future!

The bathrooms were locked when I was there, but there were portable toilets available. The park is mostly clean. There was some graffiti and some trash on the ground. The playground is basic. There are several different parks in Sparks which feature the same playground. There is not a toddler playground. There are swings but no toddler swings. Wood chips are located underneath the playground. There is a covered eating area with a few picnic tables underneath. There is a baseball field. There is a large grassy area. In the fall there is often football practices here on this field. There is a tennis court at this park. There is a skate park at this park. The skate park appears to be a separate park, so I won't be reviewing it. But I will add a photo of the skate park. Pyramid is a very busy street. Cars tend to drive fast in this area. The playground is far from the busy road but the grassy area is not. There are plenty of good food and coffee options which you can easily walk to from Burgess Park. Have fun out there. - Dadzone

What a great neighborhood park and secret Reno gem! We will be back for sure! If located in 89509 this is a must go to. Lots of friendly dogs too and great walking trails!

My son has been with the scorpions organization for about 7 months. They offer a great facility,…read moreamazing staff and a welcoming environment. Vince is knowledgable and really puts the time in with the kids, he's firm when needed and keeps my 8 year old in check when his attitude or body language needs adjusted, but allows his personality to shine at the same time ( I have one of those passionate but goofball type kids). No screaming nor dirt kicking tantrums from these coaches. Pat is always informative and loves to have a good time with the players. They have recently added the hittrax system into the training facility, and the players thrive on it. The kids love watching their stats and how they compare with others their age across that participating facilities. You can expect a few fundraisers such as the poker night, and other things to bring the parents together, but nothing strenuous or too overwhelming. I couldnt be more pleased with the development and sportsmanship my son has gained. Thanks scorps!
