There is a whole lot more to this park than meets the eye. Driving by on Arlington, you may miss it altogether as it is tucked away between the Truckee River and the bluffs that rise up to the south. From Arlington, the green grass and basketball courts are what stand out. The lawn area has a few picnic tables and the basketball court has lots of bleachers for hanging out and watching a pick-up game. One of the many Reno murals grace the back wall of the court making what would be a depressing graffiti laden concrete block wall a work of art. As you head back along Island drive there are tennis courts - lots of tennis courts. There is a boat access ramp to the white water park on the Truckee and parking spots. Free parking spots. There are more picnic areas and a large playground area. The nicest thing about the park are the many mature trees that provide much needed shade on a hot summer day. For the most part, the grounds are well maintained, There are restrooms near the parking area. Great location, great park. It all makes Downtown a better place to live.

Nice park nestled within the bigger Wingfield park. It's next to the river creek so you get a nice view of the water. Basketball courts with a beautiful mural wall next to it. Bleacher seating so people can sit and chill and watch basketball. Tennis courts too. Further down there's a tubing kayak boat tour shack. Green grass looks well landscaped and watered. Overall a nice clean park with activities. Looked like high school middle school kids were playing basketball. I liked seeing that knowing these kids are staying active after school on a weekday.

Shady characters hanging around the basketball court, public bathrooms were horrendous, people clearly are doing drugs in there. Even though there are free public bathrooms here, I honestly don't think they're kid friendly at all. There's a playground here, just the vibe is so trashy and suspect I can't recommend you taking kids here. 2 star rating just because the basketball courts here are great, rim and net are actually ON the hoop. Everything else about this park is just so suspect, I'd recommend you keep it moving. If you're coming to use the bathrooms, I'd recommend you wait about 2-3 minutes prior to entering and just listening in and feeling it out.

Review #033 - 2018 This park is really pretty during the winter time. They have good lighting at night so you can feel safe while walking around and getting some pictures taken too. The kids like to come here and play basketball when we visit during the non-snowing months. I've never actually walked around here until our most recent visit so I can't really speak much for the park as a whole. Although, from what I've seen, it looks like a nice place that everyone in the family can enjoy. The bridge over the water is nice and romantic for couples who want to take a walk on a date. I guess it wouldn't hurt to pack a picnic basket to complete the date. There's also a few different art displays around the park so I'm sure you can find something you like.

Perfect place for either great environs for tennis, or stellar gorgeous stroll along Riverwalk/Riverside to Wingfield and Idyllwild parks. Love the expansive manicured stretch of mansions along the river,& the glorious trees. Stop by the Hub for some coffee to get a little bit of the good life.

Cigarette butts all over the graffiti filled playground area.

I frequently brought my oldest to this park and the Wilbur D May museum over the years for certain exhibitions. It was convenient since we were in NW Reno area. Tea parties and picnics by the playground and hikes up to the "N" during warmer spring and summer months. The playground is currently under construction and might be our favorite. I look forward to bringing my little when it's reopened. This past weekend my kids and I attended the great Reno balloon races and this event never disappoints. It's an annual tradition that I'm glad my oldest still partakes in for now. This was the largest turnout I've seen in all my years of attendance and living in Reno. The staff that organized/worked this event were well prepared and it was organized; thank you for your hard work and for all of the participants. Next year this event will run 4 days! I'm already looking forward to coming back. I look forward to returning when the playground is completed and visiting when I'm in old NW Reno.
