Well I have pretty much given up on my hair- to style it or take care of it. I am asian but do not have asian silky straight hair. Mine is thin, frizzy and puffs in all directions. I put some oil in it and then it looks greasy. That's why I just tie it up in a ponytail and don't deal with it. Through the years since I just tie it up in a ponytail anyways, I was cutting my own hair- learned from youtube! I tried to dye it naturally with henna- so my hair had traces of red, brown, and grey by the time Donald got to me! My hair was all lengths with half bangs and split ends. When Donald said he could cut my hair I was hesitant. Most hair dressers don't understand my hair thinking it is straight and silky naturally, then I get big puffs after and end up putting it back up in a ponytail. He really knows hair. He is very honest with what he can do once he understand what you want and what is going on with your hair! I didn't know this but because I had used henna, I possibly had metallic in my hair from the natural dye. So for that reason he said it would not be a good idea to dye it with the icy blonde on black, which was what I originally wanted. So he promised he would do all that BUT my hair needed recovery time from the mess I had created! I completely agreed to that and was on board with his hair expertise. So he tripled shined and conditioned my hair while using a black color that was oil based and actually good for my hair. My hair must have really liked it because it soaked it all in and then some! He finished my hair with cute beachy waves and long bangs that dangles on the sides- I felt like a Charlie's Angel! It was finally all one color and one length. He showed me all the products to rehab my hair to keep it shiny and fresh daily. As I told him "you helped me have a relationship with my hair again! Thank you!" My first SIP hair appointment! I am impressed. They have this whole thing down. I felt super safe. You wait outside until your stylist is ready for ya. At that time your temperature is checked. You fill out a quick form that you're system free and in ya go. Everyone has masks on. Your chair is cleaned before you sit in it. The shampoo bowls/seats are cleaned in between clients. Stylists weren't on top of one another. They really have it set up right. I see Julianna. First off, she's so kind and really listens to what I want to do with my hair. Secondly, the color. Man she's great with color. I appreciate that she talks with me about what to do with mY hair. She gets exactly what I want and executes it!!! I recently moved to Danville and could not justify the hours of commuting to the city to continue getting my hair done. I looked up another salon to go to and they completely ruined my hair, truly I had a mullet. I was complaining to my friends and someone recommended Vicky at Jack Thomas Salon.
