BROOKE IS THE BEST HAIR STYLIST!!! She has been my hair stylist now for a couple years and I will never go to anyone else!!! Before finding Brooke I had gone to two other local hair stylists and had really bad experiences (bleach burns, rude people, unflattering haircuts). I was worried maybe it was just my head shape or something but then I found Brooke and will be forever thankful! We have gone through all kinds of styles and colors and she absolutely knocks them all out of the park! Because I generally tone/ color my hair, it's not just a quick appointment, and I absolutely love just chatting with her. I found this place on yelp and booked an appointment with Patricia to tone my hair and bring my balayage darker. I was leaving to college the following week, so there weren't salons able to accommodate me since it was pretty last minute. Patricia squeezed me into her busy schedule two days after and even stayed a whole 2 hours after closing to do my hair. I felt so bad and she said that it was because she knew I was leaving to college and wanted me to have my hair done before going back (so sweet!!). We were talking and I told her that I didn't like how my hair was cut and she even trimmed a bit of the uneven parts without charging me extra for it. I've truly never felt so grateful and appreciative at the salon and she's the paragon of what a great hairstylist should be. You can tell she loves doing hair and she's passionate at what she does. When I showed her how I wanted to darken my hair, she told me she was excited to do it because it's "project hair" and it made me excited to see what she can do. They use quality redken products that make my bleached hair feel so healthy and glossy. My family and boyfriend gave so many compliments when they saw my hair. Definitely recommend this place!! The salon is full of friendly staff who strive to provide a good experience. They used to be in san Ramon but have move to Danville in late 2021. Now at 125 railroad ave suite E. Prices vary based on what you want so you have to call for that. Keep in mind this isn't the discount cut or barber place. So don't expect a ten dollar hair cut. The person who cut my hair might does not know how to cut hair. She cut nothing like the style I showed her. The worst part is she made me look like a clown. Both side are not even, the hair is extremely short at the back but super long in the front and some parts are not even align. The hair is worse than shaved it all off. I asked my husband to shave my hair and going to wear wig. That's an absolutely a nightmare for a woman who is a consultant. They still charged me and I just want to leave at that point as I was devastated of my look. One more thing to add. The hair is all over my clothes and underneath my shirt. Ericka started my first appointment an hour late, but half of that was because she was finishing up with a client and the other half she had a "this never happens" reason for, so I gave her another shot. For my second appointment, she contacted me about a week out to confirm, but on the day of the appointment didn't show up to the salon until 10 minutes after my appointment time. She spent 9 minutes with me (dry haircut/no style) and charged me $80. I'll be looking elsewhere for a more luxurious experience with someone who respects my time. read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. Based on Yelp reviews I came to this salon to get my long curly hair cut. They cut it uneven. One side of the front is considerably shorter than the other, about 2 inches. I didn't notice at first because it's curly. Today, 2 weeks later I blew it straight and noticed. I went back and the first thing they told me that it was like that because hair grows back unevenly. REALLY? Not in two weeks. They said they couldn't help me then but I could schedule an appointment on another day. I said it just needed to be evened out, it would take less than 5 minutes and I was willing to wait a while. She checked with the manager and told me no they couldn't help me. There were stylists standing there watching this exchange. Great. What a waste of time and money. Do not go here. New to East Bay & trying to find a go to men's hair stylist can be a challenge. Luckily for me I got it right with my first attempt. Read many reviews on yelp and other websites and made an appointment. I went to Blaine at Salon X & am happy with the results. Here was my experience:- Salon X is located at the Market place in San Ramon, in a strip mall around the corner from Vitality Bowls. There are plenty of parking spots available. My impression when I first walked in to Salon X was positive. Friendly staff at entrance and I was promptly greeted by hair stylist after sitting. I was taken to his booth, offered water, and was asked what I am interested in doing. After some discussion, we came up with a game plan. Hair was washed & massaged, and I literally was about to fall asleep, well done! Blaine explained what he is using and why he is using the type of products. In my 3 visits, he never pushed products on me, which is different from other salons I have been to. thumbs up! My second visit a modification was made to my hair style and a few weeks later I realized it did not suit me like the first cut. I went back with photos from the net of what I look I was interested in and he actually replicated what he saw! This was the first time anyone was able to do this since my hair is thick and curly. I am extremely happy with my cut and received many compliments. I highly recommend Blaine, he is a very talented & hard working hair stylist. I am known as being an "impulse buyer", so when I get the random idea to chop my hair off and put highlights in it, I read the Salon X reviews and have them a call. They happened to have one opening that was with Patty the owner which I took in a second without knowing anything about her other than reviews I've seen. I can honestly say I've had my hair done professionally 15 times tops in my whole life and not once has my hair came out exactly as I show the stylist. I have always been told that you can't go from dark brown to good blonde highlights in one sitting....wrong. Patty got my hairstyle, but cut and color down exactly how I wanted it. As soon as I sat down I felt at ease as she explained her plan. It took almost no time for my hair to get to blonde, usually I have to sit for hours and drip sweat under the dryer before I see any sort of blonde. Needless to say I am extremely happy with my hair. What was even better was as soon as I left, I picked up my daughter at her daycare and the daycare provider couldn't believe I had just gotten that done in one sitting. She said her daughter had gone 3 times to a salon and it was nothing like she wanted. She immediately took down Pattys name and the salon name, I sent her to picture I had shown Patty and she will be going there. I am so happy with this new style! I'm a fan. This is where I go and I'm kinda picky. There are reviews to find on specific stylists. I have two favorites that I've been to. Jenna and Blaine. Jenna gives a great layered look. Very mindful of what sort of energy you want to put into your do. She's great with color sense too. Blaine gave me a good manageable blunt bang cut which was a blast to change things up when my hair was longer. It's clean and full. They offer drinks and often have treats. Nice location and easy parking. read more

Both my husband and I have been getting our hair done by Blaine since before he graduated from cosmetology school. He's awesome! He's adventurous if you're up for it (ie. He put thick red streaks through my hair, chopped it short and styled it rocker-status) if not, he can be low key too. He is a great stylist and really knows his stuff. If you're looking to get your hair cut, colored or both, Blaine is the guy, and he's super up beat and easy to talk to so the time flies. So either he lied and says he was there but implied that he was just another potential client, or his mother used his account to post a review and lied. Either way, who does something like that? Horrible people. Someone by the name Dayyan Rizvi posted a negative review of Jenna Nation unfairly. If I were reviewing him he'd get minus stars. This person drew conclusions that were not based in fact and did not support the truth about the situation. He wasn't there for the exchange so I find it unconscionable that he would try to ruin someone's livelihood based on erroneous information. This should not be allowed on Yelp. Anyone reading his review needs to consider the source. And in this case the source is not credible. Jenna Nation is one of the most honest, hardworking, kind and professional woman I know. She has always stood behind her work and if I wasn't happy with something she corrected it with no questions asked. This is who she is. So for someone to just walk in the door and make false accusations with no information is not only unkind but should not be allowed to review anyone. Think about this for a second. You own a business and someone makes assumptions based on no information about a situation and posts horribly negative things about you. This person is cruel and not honest. Please consider the source. I've been going to Jenna for years. I walked into salon x not knowing anyone in San ramon and was referred to Jenna Nation. I had the worse experience with Blaire! not only I showed her a picture of what I want , I also showed her a lady who was there and I asked for the exact highlight for mine! it was a brunette base with caramelized highlights, at first Blaire made my whole hair black then she gave me a highlight with greenish and yellow and blond mixed hilights which it was not even looked close to what i asked !!! Then when I brought it to her attention that its not even close to what i want she told me to come back so she can fix it with attitude!!!! so after 3 attemped and almost spending $300 Without Tip!!!!The picture i am attaching below shows what i end up with and i am truly upset about it!!!!!!! my hair first was very coloful and now back to black with some shades of red!!!! read more

And i want to start by mentioning the 2 stars are for the courtesy and the efforts my stylist put in trying to fix my highlights the 2nd time. So i was really excited about getting my hair done before our anniversary and i booked an appointment with Roxanne.She is very nice and had some great reviews on yelp. But unfortunately she could not understand what i was looking for, despite me showing some pics to her.My highlights are not even visible and after spending 200$ i can't even make out that i did something with my hair. **Please note, this review reflects my experience with booking an appointment, not by actually going to Salon X for a hair cut.*** I had an appointment today at 9 am. I am a mother of a 2 year old and today my son woke up ill and I had to stay home. Although I confirmed my appoinment 2 days ago, as I didn't know my son would wake up ill today, I called the salon early this morning letting them know I was unable to come in. Apparently, I called the wrong number and they never received my message. I guess that' s what happens when you have a few hours of sleep, that was my mistake. For those of you that have young children, this place might not be the place to go. The receptionist seemed harder to work with this time around because I should of been a mind reader and known that my son was going to be so sick that I could not send him to daycare. I didn't hear a sympathetic tone from her, business must be booming; that truly annoyed me. I was not "encouraged" to reschedule as her tone was not polite and did not have a hint of "encouragement' in it, I felt she no longer wanted to work with me and my business was no longer important. By no means is a haircut more important than my son's health. Although the salon was recommended by a friend and the reviews all seem positive, I will not attempt to return, I do not feel welcomed. Her apt was same time as mine and she was sat right before me, so exactly on time. I heard your wife say she wants a dramatic look....from beginning to middle to end of her time there, she was very rude belittling and caused a scene. My opinion I think she was trying to get something for nothing...had her hair curled, make up 3/4 done and the salon didn't charge her anything because of the scene she caused. The stylist handled herself very professional and even apologized to others who were near by once your wife left. There were plenty more witness' who would side with the stylist. Being bald, I normally get my haircut at the local Fantastic Sam's or the less popular but less expensive Craptastic Pete's. Once I discovered Salon X, however, I reconsidered my old ways. I get my hair cut from Nicole, and am always made to feel comfortable and welcome. All of the girls there are friendly and talented and it seems like everyone there is having a good time. Salon X is a very high quality salon without the pretentious attitude you may find at other high-end salons. The girls strive to give you what you want and don't judge. So when I go in and ask for "The Rachel" I don't get any weird looks, even though my hairline has receeded to the point that I can only grow the back part of a mullett. Did I spell mullett right? Why is it underlined by the spell check thing? Oh well. That's how I spell it. Don't judge me, the Salon X girls wouldn't. read more

If it wasn't for me taking advice from an acquaintance, I would never have had the pleasure of meeting Darcy, the most talented Stylist in the greater Bay Area. Darcy has not only changed my confidence she has made going to the Salon a true joy. She is amazing with color. I go in never knowing exactly what I want and she always has a vision or idea that she feels will look great on me. I've always wanted to step outside the box along with fitting in well with the Corporate world and she captures this each and every time. Darcy is incredible when it comes to cut too. She has been the only Stylist to make me feel comfortable and sexy with either a short dramatic A-line or long silky locks. I receive compliments from every type of individual. From my long time girlfiriends to neighbors at the local grocery mart, the nurse at my physicians office to even a Stylist from a competitive local salon. This place was near my work, I am new to the area and desperately needed a hair cut. Since it was a simple cut I didn't do much research. I called on a Wednesday and had an appointment scheduled for the very next day on my lunch break! Perfect. I had an appointment with Christine. First off Christine is incredibly friendly and warm person- she was great! The salon is clean and Christine did a great job cutting my hair- no issues at all! THe only reason for the 3 stars is because of the confusing answer I got when I called for my appointment. First she nicely let me know that Christine only takes cash or check- okay no problem nice for them to let me know. But when I asked about price so that I could ensure I have enough cash with me she gave me a crazy range of 40-100$ and when I asked for more details she said it was up to the hairdresser. Maybe that's the norm for around here I just was looking for a range of maybe 15-20 dollars, not 60$. Overall great place though, I think I will be back for basic haircuts! read more

I needed a haircut after my baby was born and I decided to walk into Salon X. Of course they match me up with a new girl who completely messed up my hair. I have straight thick hair so you really can't go wrong with that. I had to go back 2xs before she had an experienced hair stylist go over my hair. My banks were uneven and so was the length of my hair. I was really annoyed. I told myself I would never go back. The one time I did was when they were providing $20 haircuts for Breast Cancer awareness and I decided to trim my bangs. Surprisingly they were able to get it right this time. The stylists aren't very welcoming. They seem hooked on their regulars and don't care about potential new clients. I don't like the vibe in here. read more
