Y'all !!! I don't even know where to begin. First off I love all the Covid precautions, can we keep the "wait in your car till you have a table" thing even when things calm back down. The food was amazing. I got the pulled pork sandwich and baked potato which was amazing. My boys loved all the meat and variety that came with the "Taste of Kansas City" meal. But . . . My husband wanted to come here for his birthday and really enjoyed it. We had great service and the food was good. The Bloody Mary was by far his favorite, and we both liked the sweet tea. I really loved the brisket but neither of us really cared for the sauce. I personally used ketchup instead but was still satisfied. Jack Stack is alright with me! I went here with a group of about 10 people. They were very attentive and the service was fast since there were 2 dedicated servers for our table. I didn't think I'd be able to find anything to eat on the menu since I'm pescaterian (vegetarian who eats seafood), but was pleasantly surprised. They have a good variety on their menu that included fish and shrimp. . I ordered the smoked salmon dip for an appetizer and the ruby red trout for my entree. The food came out pretty fast and GOOD! My fish came with fries, but I was given the option to exchange for a different side. I was also pleased at the BBQ sauce selection. They offered a hot and a spicy sauce in addition to the original. Everyone liked their food and the manager came by to make sure everything was good. 1 person's salmon was undercooked, so they took his plate and replaced it quickly. Really nice atmosphere and decor is the first thing that comes to mind when you walk in. The second thing is the smell, vice versa if your nose works better than your eyes. Leather seating and beautiful dark wooden furniture. Prices are reasonable and the kids menu had a lot of options to keep those picky eaters satisfied. The sweet tea is tasty and the sauce is delish. Altogether it did not disappoint for Kansas City BBQ. Everything had a delicious smokey flavor. I'll definitely be back when I come around these parts again. Jack Stack provided the catering for our son and his new brides rehearsal dinner. Everything was spectacular from the brisket to the sides of beans, cheese corn, slaw and potato salad. Servers were very nice. They did a great job of setting up and taking down. I always stop somewhere different for BBQ when in KC, and this was a fantastic experience. I honestly can't find anything to complain about, setting aside personal preference. The staff was really great- our wait time was shorter than quoted, the waitstaff was really nice and professional, and refills were always on time. The atmosphere is classy and clean with a laid back feel, maybe a little too upscale for BBQ, but still nice. The food was all great. We had brisket, ribs, burnt ends, pulled pork, fries, slaw, beans, and pork sandwiches for the kids. Tender and smoky meats, crispy and hot fries of deliciousness, tangy rich beans, fresh slaw, smooth ice tea...all great. Portion sizes are solid and fairly priced.The $7 kids meals are practically adult size which is fair for the price. The 4 meat and 3 side plate we split for two stuffed us and was $31, so good deal. I have been a fan of Jack Stack Barbecue since my husband's parents moved back to Kansas City 38 years ago and his parents took us to the Martin City location. Every time I go to Kansas City since I must stop at Jack Stack! This was my first time to go to this location and it was very nice. With Covid, it was not crowded at all, and they were using Covid precautions well. And the food was just as good as I remembered, if not a bit better. We are on a Friday evening and made reservations for 11. They promptly sat us at our reservation time. We did not use the waiting area but it was placed and organized. The hostess was pilot and welcomed everyone warmly. Two waitress were assigned to help keep things moving. The wait staff made great suggestions for our dinner selections. Good came in about 15-20 minutes. The kids food came out first which is a must for families. Each kid had crayons and a activity set to keep them busy until the food arrived. I was surprised that table was not served bread. Food was great. I definitely will be going back. It was family friendly, good for groups and dates. Great outside seating was available too. Being a KC native, I love BBQ. I mean how can you not? I usually go to the Plaza or Metcalf locations but since we live closer to this one, we decided to go here. We reserved a table because Saturday night, we knew the wait would be long. We got there a little before our reservation time and still had to wait about 25 minutes. No worries. Our wait staff was very nice and attentive. The three stars I gave was for the food. I ordered the burnt ends and the chicken (KC combo) and hubs had the chicken. The chicken was fatty. I don't think I've ever had fatty chicken. Very chewy. They chicken was grilled fine but it wasn't the crispy skin and non fat I was used to. Hubs chicken wasn't fresh and was barely warm. Mine was hot-ish. My burnt ends were good. I was very disappointed in the chicken and so was hubs. My beans were great and the fries are fries. I really just wished the chicken wasn't fatty. Hubs also had the carrot cake which was tasty. I didn't realize how hot it would be and burned my tongue but that was clearly my fault. Maybe it was off night for chicken. read more

Practically all the meat taste like it was boiled prior to grilling. All of the meat except the pork burnt ends lacked seasoning. We got The baked beans, potato salad and cheese corn.
