When I would get off work in the mornings, I came here once a week. I came to this location because of the GM Deangelo. He always made sure my order was fresh, correct and was extremely friendly. I just learned he was let go. I don't really care why. I know he ran a good ship every morning I encountered him. Quality food with quality service. I should have taken it back for a refund but was already undressed and ready for bed. So I'm leaving this review to express my anger that I was lied to right to my face! I don't recommend this location for it, if they will lie to me about that what else do they lie about? If they knew that they didn't have bacon, they should have told me and not charge me for it! As they should have said they didn't have bacon and only charged me for the regular ultimate cheeseburger instead they charged me for bacon that they didn't have. Update from 05/30/22 After my last experience, last fall, I made a formal complaint and was contacted by the District MGR, Tonya Holland. She of course, profusely apologized for my encounter with the vulgar, unprofessional manager at this location. She told me to come back and get whatever I wanted from the menu. I explained that I live in GA and that I am only in IL once or twice a year. She then told me that no matter when it is that I return, to go to the O'Fallon location and make them aware that she told me I could be made whole & my order would be fully comp'd. When I went to the O'Fallon location and began explaining my situation to the cashier, she actually remembered the conversation that I had with Tonya because Tonya shared it with the staff. So the cashier proceeded to tell the manager about my situation and this rude, unprofessional manager said well if she had the problem with the Swansea store, she has to go there. I then explained that these were not Tonya's instructions. The rude O'Fallon manager then calls Tonya and she tell me that Tonya said I need to go to the Swansea store. I asked for Tonya Holland's number and called her. I reminded her who I was and she said I needed to travel to the store she was at. I reminded her that she specifically told me to go to the O'FALLON store because my previous experience was so horrible. She then tells me that because my issue was so long ago, she doesn't have any record of the encounter and would be limited in what she could do. Went to order through the drive through only for the guy to tell me they are not taking drive through orders and the restaurant was closed to go inside. Be ready to spend 20 minutes waiting for your food even if you order ahead. Kind of defeats the purpose of "fast food" if you can't get it fast. Would not recommend, stay away for sure. Placed an order through the app, only for it to be missing... pretty much everything besides dipping sauce. My sauce and loaded triple fries only had cheese and bacon. Fries filling half the box. My burger did not come with ketchup and lettuce, as I had asked. My munchie madness box, along with 2 hash browns are no where to be seen. My jumbo breakfast platter doesn't have syrup for the pancakes. I asked for utensils, only gave napkins. I had called the restaurant like 10+ times to finally get told that the delivery driver forgotten my munchie box and hash browns. Said to come over to get it or go through the app to get a refund. Trusting their word, but found out it isn't as easy to get a refund as I thought. Lesson Learned: NEVER HAVE A BIG ORDER ON BELLEVILLE, ILLINOIS. A common issue with delivery drivers in Belleville is that they forget items. They are in a hurry. Grab one bag and go. Not carrying to check if it's accurate. The order was $57. Which sounds dumb for a fast food place, but this was to feed my partners family and I do no have Jack in the box in Chicago. I am visiting around here and used to love having Jack in the box once every time I visit. But I will no longer be doing that anymore. As a fast food employee, I get things can be stressful. Difficult. You feel rushed. But this is ridiculous. This place has no standards and I wish the last location did not close down. That one at least had standards. Seems that is doesn't matter what store I purchase from They are all basically terrible. I ordered a Deluxe Croissant Combo which totalled $8.48. Not a biggie until you eat this sandwich. It has one egg, and what amounts to one super thinly sliced bacon. But is supposed one thin slice of ham that might as well been paper. The cheese that it suppose to be there was melted/disintegrated into cheese residue. The hash brown was grease soaked. That too seems to be no matter where u get it from, They are all oil ladened. Most of this food went in the trash.. JnB needs to get it together as a company. You ask for almost $9:00 for food that is substandard? It must be the case that the last time I went to Jack in the Box I was young and very drunk or maybe even under the influence of other things. I say that because I had a memory deep in my head that it was hot, tasty buttery and bad for you in all the right but wrong ways bad for you can be. I even have (maybe false) memory that the service was good. The commercials used to be good, not Carl's Junior good, but sort of funny in the odd way that a guy in a giant Golfball head [not sure I get that] and a suit has to be. Okay enough nostalgia... We went on a late afternoon, like almost 1400. There was no one else around. There were "workers" [only in the figurative sense], camping out on the sidewalk. They went in when we did. I hope they washed their hands, at least a little bit. Anyway we ordered and then many, many, many minutes later. Our food was bagged and shoved at us...and out the door we went. It just wasn't that good. It wasn't buttery, it wasn't greasy. It wasn't fresh (how that happened I have no clue). It was as if your 70 year old aunt had made you fast food. We submitted an order through DoorDash and are regular Dash users with the Pandemic and all...I understand it's late, but that doesn't mean give people the wrong order. They did not follow requests to remove condiments, and we were given the wrong sides in place of what we actually ordered. The Large curly fry that we ordered was not even had filled with fries. Anyone complaining about the quality of the food on here is being ridiculous; it's Jack in the Box; you know exactly what you're getting. However, at this establishment, more often then not you only know what you're TRYING to get. 75% of my trips to this location end with me not being able to place an order. System updates have turned me away more times than I can count. Once I was turned away around midnight for an update... came back 4 hours later and that system was still "updating." When the system isn't miraculously updating anytime between midnight and 4 am then the fryer is down. Either the employees are just kickin back all night or they desperately need a new system and a back up fryer. read more

As a night shift worker in the ER, I typically avoid eating fast food. However, it's seemed like it's been Halloween all week long...every night and we all agreed a high-fat, fried bag of treats was in order. So...we created a list, checked it twice and sent our fast food picking up tribute out to get the goods. Awful. Awful. Awful...and that still doesn't even come close to describing how awful the whole experience actually ended up being. Our fast food picker-upper went through the drive thru, in the pouring rain, which wasn't as big of an issue as the stupidity and sheer laziness he encountered as his truck received an unintentional interior car wash. Our pick up guy was told that they had no egg rolls or tacos because...they were frozen. Seriously? It's a fast food restaurant. If you were cranking out fresh (vs. frozen) tacos and egg rolls I'd need an EKG and my cardiac enzymes checked. Apparently, they were crap out of unsweetened ice tea and spicy curly fries too because those were absent when the order made it back as well. Two people out of the FIVE who'd sent out an order for food actually got food. That food wasn't even good by bad fast food standards. Our pick up dude tried to split the bill and was told that "they couldn't do that." Except they could and they did because when he rolled up to the window (to make the pain stop), he discovered that they HAD split the bill up. In half...to which our driver told them thanks but no thanks and paid for the whole disaster out of his wallet. The story doesn't end there, unfortunately. Upon returning to the ER, there were many cranky and grease craving individuals who learned they weren't getting squat to tide them over until dawn. This spawned a phone call to this establishment (notice the absence of the word fine??) which was also disappointing. The bottom line was it would be "two hours" before any of the items we were unable to order would finally be able to travel from the freezer to the oil vat. Maybe the distance was too far for these purportedly frozen items to travel without an escort...or a passport? We have an expression for that in the ER too...DSP day shift problem. So, a big fat thanks for letting down your local ER staff. You can be sure we'll never return the favor. Additionally, none of us will EVER visit this particular establishment again. Ever. read more

This just in.... 9/1/15. The Jack in the Box in Swansea officially SUCKS. I've been eating here for years and never had a problem. Great food,rarely if ever was there a mistake on my order and always prompt,friendly service. No more. In the last 6 months or so EVERYTHING about this place went straight into the toilet. I've had 5 meals there in the last 2 months and every damn order either had a mistake or took more than 5 minutes to arrive,not to mention the food tasted like it had been sitting under a lamp for a while. I even went inside to eat to make sure it wasn't just the drive thru. Wrong. The inside is filthy and the workers don't seem to care about much of anything. I wasn't the only annoyed customer either. On one trip in after a messed up drive thru meal I was 3rd in line behind 2 other people with screwed up orders. I'm done. Jack in the box is way too expensive for such a crappy experience. We went through drive thru for breakfast this morning. I think it would of taken less time for me to go to store buy ingredients and make the breakfast for amount of time we waited in line. There was a sign that said you order a large combo you get a free cardinal bobble head so we got hubby's combo large. We asked for it at window and she stared at us blankly and said we don't get bobble head with breakfast combos. Not once, but TWICE today our order was wrong. The first time today I spent over 20 min in the drive through only for our order to be wrong and missing items. I'm not sure if we were charged for said items or not as I was not even given a receipt-for a debit card purchase mind you. Went this evening on my way home from work as this is one of very few fast food places(or ANY food place) still open at that time of night-spent OVER 10 min in drive through before order was even taken. And and even longer waiting to pay. I was behind ONE car mind you. Guess what. The order was wrong. AGAIN. My debit card was dropped when I handed it to the girl at the window and ended up under my car. All of the condiments requested were missing. Order was wrong.
