After a long long walk, we decided it would be lunch time. And this is next on our list of burger crawl. We heard Cali love their sourdough breads and that it's found in many restaurants. Did you know Jack in the Box features a burger on sourdough? That sound cool and delicious. We this would be a perfect chance to try the burger here. Large spacious restaurants with the front register areas looking like a bank teller with the plastic covering. Do people come in robbing burgers? Why the need for it? Or perhaps because it's located in a dangerous neighborhood? Everywhere on the streets look worn out. The plastic window casing made it somewhat difficult to hear the staff and for them to hear our order. We had ro repeat a few times. After a bit of a wait, we eagerly took a bite of the burger. I do enjoy the sourdough bun... very unique/interesting to the burger world. Ot wasnt what I expected, so I think it was surprising good. I think I like the bun more than I expected. I agree with a previous comment about the staff needing better training on customer service because I have never encountered such ignorance and rudeness from any establishment worker before the way I have experienced it tonight. The problem started with my payment. Apparently this worker did not know how to use the machine and couldn't input the correct amount for me to pay with my EBT card which forced me to use my debit card, kind of contradicting that they "take EBT" if they don't even know how to input the amount to charge the card. Then I was given a chicken sandwich instead of my order of tacos. The lady took back the sandwich (which in all previous situations where the worker messes up on a order, they let the customer keep what was given on top of what they ordered, because what are they gonna do give it to the next person after I handled it or either throw it away. It's just the most ethical way to handle the situation) then I wasn't given a receipt so I couldn't see what I was charged. I go inside and ask to speak to a manager to my surprise. It was the lady at the window. so hard to believe that this was the manager of the establishment. She was giving me attitude and not an ounce of professionalism. When I spoke to her about my receipt, she started lying and said that she gave it to me after I asked for it at the window which I never did, and she kept repeating that she doesn't see the problem and waved her hand at my face and walk away. Last night I drove to get lunch for me and my wife. We drive here after work or for lunch at least once a week. Upon pulling up to the drive thru speaker I automatically got attitude through the speaker as I was asked for my order. As I was ordering my second combo, I got cut off by the employee as she kept asking "soda, soda!". I replied and continue to order. I thought to myself, maybe they've had a long day, they might be stressed out. I won't say anything. I pulled up to the window and decided I wouldn't say anything. The employee suddenly was "nice". I am now watching my order get ready and be put into the paper bag, when I see that the employee is getting my fries and decides to remove the fries hanging from the side with her bare hand! I was shocked. She comes to the window and hands me the food. I then ask her if she can switch my fries because I saw her touch them with her bare hand. Her response was "well, what did you want me to use? They are only fries" and rolls her eyes. In disbelief I said, "you can put on gloves and touch the food or with the tongs that are hanging right there." So at that moment I point out that at the speaker she was rude by raising her voice and cutting me off as I'm ordering. She rolls her eyes again. And I I tell her that I'm asking politely and in no way am I being disruptive and rude or treating her with disrespect. She then sarcastically says "I'm sorry I touched your food" and I tell her, that I don't want an apology that sounds forceful. That I wanted to have a heart to heart interaction with her. She disregards what I said and proceeds to ask for the fries back. I ask her if I can talk to the manager, she replies saying that she's the person that's running the floor. I give her the bag back, calls out another employee to get her fries. The window to the drive thru is left open and i can hear everything she's saying to her coworkers through the head set including the things she's calling me. The second employee walks from the back to get the fries ready and so I notice that she is wearing gloves as the person helping someone at register. In my head I'm wondering why wasn't she wearing her gloves specially if she's working with food. My fries are now ready and the employee that took my order and touched my fries with her bare hands is now throwing my fries into the bag. She comes back and gives my order and says "have a nice day" I looked at her and I said, "I myself work in customer service, I myself run the floor and I myself manage a team, i understand that days can be tough with customers, however the type of service you are giving me is unacceptable. I've been nothing but patient and respectful with you. This is the worst service I've ever receives, there's no reason for you to throw my food into the bag" she cuts me off and says "ok ok have a nice day goodbye" and shuts the window on me. I drove out and as I'm driving out of the drive thru- all the employees are looking at me as you can distinctively see that she's on her head set going off. This was truly an upsetting experience. Forget the attitude part. The fact that she felt comfortable touching my food with her bare hands was the part for me that leaves me in shock. The way she talked back to me about it when I brought it up. This was my usual JIB. Unfortunately I do not recommend this location. And I highly suggest to management that they go over their policies with their employees. I now wonder what else happens when we aren't looking? Are they practicing food safety? Is she the only one doing that? She's running the floor and this is someone that's supposed to lead a team? Unacceptable. So if you come upon Griselda C at this location, be careful with your food. I was reading reviews as I sat in the drive thru and I was debating leaving. But I thought, what the heck, as long as I don't have to channel my inner Joe Pesci, the drive thru is perfect as far as I'm concerned. I drove up and someone answered quickly. As one of those people that isn't fond of tomato syrup (ketchup), I need to ask to have my burger made 2001 style with only the onion-mayo sauce. The fries where 99% fresh, a few duds made it in there, but they were busy, it happens. The bacon Jack was was close to perfect as I've had in years. I had such high hopes for this place. I'd been here a couple of times prior to 'renovations'. This location was closed for several weeks and has now reopened. My first drive thru experience post renovation was just okay. I got the food I requested, albeit not particularly piping hot. When you order an Ultimate Breakfast sandwich, you sort of expect it will be warm enough to melt the cheese (or cheese-like product). Sadly, visit #1 did not accomplish that. However, I would not be deterred. It takes me almost an hour to drive to work, and sometimes I'm crazy hungry by the time I reach the 3/4 mark, and it's either the drive thru Starbucks, or this place. Today, I opted for a second chance at this place. I ordered my Ultimate Breakfast combo again, accepted my bag from the window, and made my sketchy left-hand turn onto Highland for the last little bit of my commute. How incredibly sad to open the bag at my desk only to find a broken up hash brown and AN EMPTY CROISSANT. The Ultimate Breakfast sandwich isn't even served on a croissant. This is my down the street Jack In The Box and I like it! Service is fast and friendly! I had so many awful experiences before in the past with jacks but this one is hardly packed and they are fast. The staff is friendly and they always get my order right. I have never gone inside , I just go and order through drive thru and I bring it home. It's a very small restaurant but it works. My main order and craving is usually tacos they are cheap and delicious especially with the hot sauce. It serves as a snack for me. One time I needed ice and they gave me a cup of ice which was nice and it avoided me going back to the store. They always give you a lot of sauce if you ask for it, it's not like Mc Donald's when you ask for ketchup and they only give you 2 lol. read more
