First time coming here and unfortunately it was right after dinner but I will say the churros did not disappoint! I ordered churros, dulce de leche sauce on side, and vanilla ice cream as well. It was a great dessert and the service provided was also very good. They call your name when your order is ready over the intercom and it's self seating. We got there around 9:20pm and they close at 10 but was still very busy at the time. Can't wait to come back and update yall on how the other menu items are! No indoor seating and no music playing but they have nice lit up patio to enjoy your food in :) very clean establishment.
Not quite the experience I was hoping for. I ordered a taco, a quesotaco and consome. I have also ordered the OG Plate (Taco, Quesataco, Mulita, Quesadilla, Consome). Everything was fine, except fot the Mulita, which I did not care for. They have two different salsas, both of which are not very spicy (no salsa bar). Over all, the food is fine, but nothing I'm craving to try again. In addition, all the seating is outside and the service is not very friendly. I have been here on two separate visits, and both times, the service was cold and indifferent. Food service is a very tough job, so I know being friendly behind a counter isn't always easy, but would it hurt you to smile once in a while? Nevertheless, my overall experience was ok.
Living five mins from this place is honestly a little dangerous. Pretty sure this is the best birria I've had in LA, and the fact that it's basically around the corner from me means self control is constantly being tested. I've been here a few times now and it has never missed. The OG burrito with birria is massive and easily shareable between two people, though you might be tempted to keep it all to yourself. The OG plate is also an awesome deal. You get a taco, quesataco, mulita, and quesadilla, and they're very generous with the meat which I always appreciate. Everything is so flavorful, juicy, and the consumè is one of the best. The staff here are super friendly and service is always great. Safe to say this spot has officially become a regular stop for me... for better or worse.
I am SALIVATING as I'm writing this review thinking about the food that we had. Delicious and halal! Everything was so well seasoned, delicious, and reasonably sized. The churros were also super fresh and tasty (not pictured). They have a nice outdoor seating area, there's ample chairs for a large party.
Birria taco was bomb. Chicken taco was smoky. Carne asada taco was chewy. I would recommend 2 birria and 1 chicken taco. That's what I would get the next time I return. Easy parking in the lot. Great experience.
By far the BEST tacos I've ver had nothing beats this spot ! Amazing customer service and a nice hangout spot ! I definitely will be back when I'm in town .
This was delicious. I got the OG plate with Birria, add avocado. You pretty much get to try everything and they put the consume in a little coffee cup- which is great because you'll wanna drink it. I can't figure out whether I liked the quesataco or the quesadilla better, I think I just like cheese.. the mulita was probably my least favorite, but it was still delicious. The taco on its own was delicious. The salsa was amazing, really deep and smoky, I can't wait to come back and try the OG papa.
Really good food and a great space overall, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. Prices are on the higher side but pretty standard for the area. My only complaint would be that the customer service felt a little meh.. maybe the cashier was just having an off day. Other than that, I'd definitely come back again. Oh and they don't have a large drink selection; but do have some substitutions available.

Papi's Tacos & Churros keeps Mexican classics very simple. They have birria, chicken, and carne asada, and all of their meats were very good. They are also halal - which was perfect since I stopped by here on a trip with a friend who eats only halal meat. I personally got two quesabirria tacos and a chicken taco while my friend got one taco for each meat. The tacos themselves are loaded, however, they are a bit small and pricey for my liking. The meat was juicy, marinated well, and the birria was nice and tender. The people working behind the counter were friendly, but I did notice that one of them was not really paying attention a couple times, so I did have to kind of wait for them to notice that I was there asking for a few items. We also tried their horchata, and it was watered down to me. I think the ice might've melted into it, but it just wasn't as strong as I prefer it to be. We also tried the churros with chocolate, and they were pretty good. As far as the restaurant itself, it's definitely a vibe. There are a lot of cars going down the street, so that threw off the ambiance a bit, but I'm sure this spot is best enjoyed at night. Either way, a solid spot for halal tacos.
This is my first time ordering from this place It is very tasty ambut I only gave them 3 stars because the size of each item in the OG plate were "mini sizes", so extreme small‼ Yes, I understand they called them street size‼ Everything was very good , and by ordering the OG plate I was able to taste just about all the items they sell there: Mulitas ( meat between 2 corn tortillas) Quesataco ( meat and melted cheese on a grilled corn tortillas) Regular Quesadilla (Street Size|beef with cheese melted in our grilled flour tortilla.) Taco ( meat and melted cheese on a grilled corn tortilla) And a small consume ( taco dip) I also ordered a side of Mexican rice By the way I noticed that they have more than one location My order came from the Hollywood location on Vine Street Yummyluscious
The Birria & Carne Asada tacos are fire! This local community taco spot is one of the best, and the servers/cooks are kind. The interior is clean and the Jamaica & Horchata are delicious. 10/10 would recommend.

It's a chill and casual spot so you can just drop by or get a to go order. The OG plate is a bang for your buck & is so filling. The consume is so flavorful and the meat is cooked to perfection.

Highly recommend and will return! It's hard to find good halal food that's a more diverse and unique compared to the typical desi or Mediterranean food. The food was good we ordered again. I highly recommend the birria tacos with consommé. read more

Papi Tacos & Churros is pure Instagram hype. I tried it because of all the influencer posts, and honestly... it's not worth it. The prices are ridiculous, the staff is unfriendly, and the food was greasy and bland. Nothing tasted special, and everything felt rushed and careless. It's hard not to think the place is riding on social media clout rather than actual quality. Most of these influencers are straight-up pretending. This isn't some must-try taco spot--it's mediocre at best. I've had better street tacos for a fraction of the price. One and done. Not worth the hype. read more

What a find! Leaving the Palladium and craving tacos and found this place in walking distance from the venue. We ordered the asada and birria tacos with consommé. Everything was delicious but the birria was exceptional. They have ample seating outside and even parking. Glad we stumbled across this place and we will definitely be back. Ordered the OG burrito with beef birria, large quesadilla with birria and churro with dulce de leche. I'm not a big fan of birria in general but this place was pretty good! It's a simple menu and the main focus seems to be birria. The consomne was pretty good - flavorful but not too heavy. The quesadilla was thiccc with cheese which was a lil too cheesy for my liking and needed more onion but still really good! The churro was a little doughy but p good overall! read more

Alright, alright, alright--there's just something special about a place with a simple menu. To me, that means they've perfected every item, and this spot delivers. My partner and I came here last year, and let me tell you--it was so good. We had the Birria taco and burrito, and it was so delicious we even drank the Birria broth. Where do I even start? The ingredients were incredibly fresh, the beef was juicy and tender, and every bite was packed with flavor. On top of that, the inside was clean, and the staff was super nice. When a place gets the basics this right, you know it's the real deal. Definitely a spot worth checking out! read more
Outdoor seating with fire to keep some of the tables warm. Kind staff. They were extremely busy on a Thursday night so it took a little while to get out to go order, but they kept things organized and it was totally worth the wait. The price is great and the quesatacos had incredible flavor. The salsa is delicious and the meat was amazing. The churros were so crispy out the outside and soft on the inside and tasted amazing with the dulce de leche. Their horchata and watermelon agua Fresca were also amazing. read more

They have great birria tacos and burritos. When you order them, they give you consome so you can dip your food in, which adds extra flavor to the food. You have to order your food before sitting down. The staff are quick to take your order and make the food. There is plenty of outside sitting enough for large parties. read more

TL:DR I'd rather go a few blocks up to Hollywood Blvd or Sunset and find good tacos The food is not good. Staff is all over the place. The place is just not what it could be. There's one cashier working for a line literally out the door. She's very sweet but doesn't pay attention and forgets to input items or inputs them wrong. We ordered some tacos, drinks, and few add ons. My friend wanted avocado in his burrito, but when we got the food, the avocado was added to two of my tacos. We told her we wanted two horchatas but she only rang me up for one. When we asked for the second one, she rang us up again. Food looked decent and I like that they give consome with each order but the consome isn't good so it's just a waste. The quesa birria tacos barely have any cheese and the tortillas are falling apart. The birria is soft but bland. The asada tacos were dry and fatty. The consomme was just straight grease. I know birria is typically a greasy anyway but a good place knows how to enhance the flavor through the broth. The horchata was watery and bland. read more
