Great employees always the correct meal. Yes, sometimes I have to wait longer than I would like, but that's life. Most of the time I go through the drive-through after picking up poke at KTA, which is right next to it. I Assemble my own keto poke salad. I order a side salad at Jack-in-the-Box and add the pokey to it. It is a great lunch depending on how much poke, the price is reasonable. The reason for the low rating is the line was long at the drive-through so I went in the restaurant and it was an absolute horror show. Wet floors trash on all the tables, people waiting, and not understanding the order system and the folks behind the counter had no capability to handle the press of people that were ordering at 1:30 in the afternoon. If I could give zero stars for EVERYTHING, I would. There was not ONE good part about my visit & this is NOT the first visit that I left unsatisfied. Now let me start off by pointing out that ofc my standards are never 5 star dining high, but if im paying $50+ for 2 meals, I do expect to atleast get what im paying for. You will never find that here. This is by far the WORST place to eat in hilo. 10/10 do NOT reccomend. Here, to start you off, they will have you waiting 20-30mins in the drive thru line just to order, then make you wait another 20-30mins for your food. Once you finally get your food you wont be hungry anymore, but thats okay because the portions are so small! On top of that everything is so old, oily & soggy even my 1 year old said "ew". As if the food taking forever, being gross & completely over priced wasnt enough, The whole staff is completely uneducated on how to perform their job correctly, efficiently and within a timely manner. However its really not their fault when theyʻre being managed and taught by an unprofessional, lazy and yet SASSY "manager". Its all VERY unethical. Jack in the box as a corporation should really look into their management and staff at their hilo location, because the type of reputation you folks are building here within the community, is a damn shame. We went in yesterday to get a sourdough jack meal and a large ice tea with lemon. Drive thru was very busy so we went inside. Utter chaos ! For starters, the kitchen/counter area was filthy, counters needed to be wiped, the floors were covered in rubbish such as fries, ketchup packets, etc. The drive thru was staffed by one person, they couldn't manage the line and seemed like they were not focused. We waited over 15 minutes to be waited on. The counter staff who waited on us threw our food at us when it was ready. When I told her the fries were wrong she went and got the correct ones and threw them in the bag along with the wrong ones. She gave us one cup for the sdj meal, did not give us the ice tea. When we asked for it, she informed us there were no lemons or non-sugar sweetener for the tea and refused to go look in the back to get some. The grill staff was flying the sandwiches out so hard they were opening and spilling out. I can remember when Jack in the Box was a good place to eat. what a horrible experience this was! My wife was so hungry that she was feeling sick after a long drive! We drove and hiked all morning and we needed lunch! We drove into Hilo and the wife needed a burger. She said how about Jack n the Box! The line was out to the road but went super quick! We got a Sourdough burger, chicken sandwich, cheesy bacon fries, and spicy popcorn chicken. **Update: 2022...not a single thing has changed. Constantly don't give you your food and mess up pretty much every order. Everytime we have gone here, they always mess up our order. This time I remebered to check everything before leaving. Not only did they completely forget my husband's buger, but they didn't didn't give us straws or forks. On top of that, the person at the window argued that they did give us the burger. Wanted to get something to eat one night. And one of the workers was real rude. To the point where we asked for large milkshake. Instead we got a medium size one. Then we explained to this rude worker. And end result he filled up the same size cup about half way and stated that should equal up to one large shake. It's fast food. Overall, the chicken here is better than McDonald's, but not as good as Wendy's. They were open Christmas Eve though, so that was pretty sweet! Fries were decent. The staff were friendly and fast, that gets them up from the single star. Went to try the Siracha burger which was a limited time offer. The patty and bun were dry. There was no moist warm grease like a sourdough Jack should have. I knew it was a bad sign when I opened the bag and the wrapper remained opaque, not clear from being soaked through with griddle grease. They also ran out of the siracha sauce. So I had a dry non-greasey sourdough jack with chipotle sauce and some jalapeños. read more

I thought restaurants were supposed to be practicing extra hygiene during the Coronavirus pandemic. This doesn't seem to be the case at the Hilo Jack in the Box. Last week when I there, instead of paying my bill at the first drive thru window and picking up the food at the second window as usual, I was appalled to see only one window open with the cashier giving us our drinks and putting napkins and condiments in the food bags with her unwashed hands after handling money. So, everything on her hands from the dirty and possibly contaminated paper money, coins, and credits cards was now on my and other customers' drink cups, napkins, and ketchup packets.
