I used to go to Jack in The box all the time when I was younger. Like all the time. I used to order a jumbo Jack with no mayonnaise, add secret sauce and two tacos. That was a long time staple for me, but over the past 15 years or so, haven't really been a Jack in The box all that often. Matter of fact last week was the first time I've been to one in the better of a decade, at least. I really think it's kind of unfair for fast food places to be able to be reviewed on Yelp, because I mean it's fast food. But anyhow, we came through and got a couple tacos and some onion rings this last pass through, and the tacos are just like I remember. They're 69 cents more but times have changed! I remember back in the day you could get two for a dollar. We sat in the drive-thru for a pretty extensive amount of time. They are super busy, and I don't know if they're just understaffed, but it was quite a wait. I didn't particularly mind, I didn't have anywhere significant to be anyways. I might take a trip down memory lane, and actually order one of my jumbo jacks. But food wise, I can just speak on the tacos and onion rings which were fine. read more

I am a door dasher. I am constantly in and out of this facility as well as all others in town. This is by far the worst out of every place in town. The customer service is so poor. And I absolutely question the hygiene of this establishment. My order has never once been on time. I am never greeted or acknowledged. I do everything I can to avoid having to go here. I love Jack in the box but will never eat at this particular one again. I will say there are females who work in the morning that are pleasant and try their best. But the evening crew is awful every single time. They are in no rush, regardless of how busy they are or how late my order is. They are not friendly and barely communicate. We have teens working at almost every single food establishment in this town who do a fabulous job. That is not the case here. read more

We have been going to Jack in the Box since it was built in Gardnerville, NV. Around the last few years, it has become the dirtiest restaurant in town. The dining room is always Filthy and the Bathrooms are Disgusting!!! We went 6/3/2026 for dinner and we were the only ones in the dining room and had to walk around to find a clean table. I've been to this location before and thought it was slow compared to other fast food places, but this time takes the cake. We've been in the line for 40 min so far, stuck in a long line of cars, and when we turn the corner after ordering, we can see that there are 3 cars in front of us as well up to the window, so it will be at least an hour until we get to the window at the rate they are going. I should have read the reviews before coming here, nothing but slow service for years on end with no change. We could have gone into a nice restaurant and eaten already at this rate. I fear the food won't be hot either, judging from other reviews. Super disappointing, but it must suck the most for the owner who isn't making much money for only a few orders per hour. We went through the drive through about 15 minutes before closing. We haven't eaten here in a while. I was surprised how much just a burger was costing as an a la cart. Who pays these prices? We ordered a jumbo jack ($4) and stuff from their discount menu, including a chicken sandwich, 2 jr jumbo jacks and 2 fries. We didn't wait long, got our food and drove the 5 minutes home. Food was lukewarm by the time we ate. Everything was good except the fries. They look like they had been sitting for a while. We got 2 of them and the amount of fries we got was a joke. Coming from the Chicago area jack in the box pulled out late seventies early eighties so whenever I see one I stop in for some tacos and jumbo jack. Awful. I ordered 4 regular tacos. It was after 3:00 pm. They were obviously left over from lunch as all of them were very soggy. I bit into the first taco, took 2 bites and discarded it. The second one was the same. I bit into the only portion of the shell that appeared still crispy and also discarded it. As I reached for the third taco, I came across a used wrapper with a couple of uneaten bites of taco. The third taco was also partially eaten....so of course I stopped there and threw the rest away. I am thoroughly discussed and repulsed by this. I will not be ordering anything from Jack in the Box, Gardnerville again. I'm not sure what is going on but it's extremely frustrating. If you look online it shows "open". This is very disappointing. Taco Bell is thriving due to them being closed. My favorite thing is to be over worked, not to be paid a living wage, then come your restaurant so I can be robbed of the little money I have to survive. This location does a great job for always being understaffed. Unfortunately with these times that seems to be common everywhere. However the food is always hot and tastes freshly made despite their difficulties. Waits can be long but that's pretty much anywhere right now. And who doesn't love jack in the box tacos? WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I placed an order via the drive thru totaling a bit over $60 . I arrived at the window and was attended by 2 employees , one appeared to be a new trainee and the other was a younger girl . I was handed the first bag which contained the side orders (fries , tiny tacos things like that) and was told that all they were waiting on was the 10 burgers . My daughters wanted the fries in the car , so I Started digging through the bag and noticed that the jalapeño poppers were missing. I advised the trainee that the jalapeño poppers were not in the bag, and that is when the younger girl behind her said "yes, they are in the bag " and again I told her "no, they are not if you would like you can look through the bag". She stared at me and rolled her eyes turned her back and went to go bag the jalepeno poppers under the heating lamp (the ones that she said she already gave me) and muttered something to the trainee then started laughing. I asked her "I'm sorry what did you say?"She gave me a snobby look and held a stare for about 10-15 seconds. She handed the poppers to the trainee then obnoxious smiled and waved goodbye however I was still missing the 10 burgers I ordered. I advised the trainee that I'm still missing the burgers . The trainee was kind and apologized went back to the heating lamps to advise the employee who then started packing the order while giving me dirty looks , handed the order and kept waving goodbye and smiling. I went into the store to ask for a manager , I was then approached by an older woman with unkept hair and a tongue piercing (oh my!) . I tried to explain the situation because now I was upset at how I was being treated after spending over $60 but she just asked me multiple times ,"did you get your order" and rushing me ,telling me she's 10 minutes behind ( mind you the conversation did not last 3 minutes). Not once did the manager acknowledge or apologize for the employee's behavior , listen to what I had to say and she was very rude ... I asked for her General manager and she refused to give me the information . The younger girl then came up behind the manager and told me to leave before she called authorities then started smiling and waving , in the presence of the manager who did nothing again. I have been coming to this location for 22 years , never again will I be back and I will be sending an email to corporate Monday morning . Oh and to top it off , the jalepeno poppers were burned and I was short 2 burgers , Usually it would be easy for one to go back or call if something is missing However, I am about 70 miles round-trip from this location... the closest location to me :( read more

The staff is great here! Always friendly and quick. They are short staffed which will hopefully change for their sakes soon! They have been working for weeks in a heat wave with no air conditioning! Tonight no lights on outside. We saw someone order so we knew it was open. No menu lights. So my husband knew what he wanted. I wanted a regular hamburger with lettuce tomatoes and onion. Jack in box has some problems. I was parked in drive through I could hear couple employees fighting by dumpster I place my order and notice how slow drive threw was. My first visit to a Jack in the Box. The drive-in. I ordered "I have a coupon - 2 for $6 butter jack sandwich". Supposedly their signature. Something incomprehensible is muttered. I ask "excuse me. How much did you say ?" No answer. Up pops $5.79 on the screen. I think we'll that's heck of a deal. 1 vehicle in front of me. 15 minutes in line. Fortunately I am in no hurry. And I was entertained by the 2 very cute dogs in the truck in front of me. I eventually get to the window. That will be $12 something. I showed them the coupon. "Oh he has a coupon" she exclaims to her co-worker. This seems to stun them, surprising really seeing as they send one to every house in the town. 4 minutes pass during which they unload the register- $20 bills flying everywhere- and put back an empty register tray. They must be recalibrate get the register and re-lobotomizing the staff. Window opens. Someone says "$6.43" I give them $6.53 cash Window closes. Food bag is passed. I says "10 cents change ?" Window closes. 3 minutes later I am still sitting there mildly interested in what's going to happen next. Yep. Nothing. I leave without my 10 cents imagining their end of day panic as they try and account for the extra 10 cents in the next to empty till. No thank you from any of them. No apology. Of course there was no napkin in the bag. The meat was badly over cooked and cold. The sandwiches were sloppy and falling apart. Fortunately I had my incompetence bag of spare napkins, forks and straws with me. My last visit to Jack in the box - forever !! read more

I have now complained to corporate about the Gardnerville Franchise, TWICE about both product and service. Got a burger last night that looked as if it had been made the day before and my fries were covered with burnt residue from the deep fryer. A couple of times before, our son who frequents this dive simply for convenience, found it to be closed during operating hours, no sign as to why; another time, he and three other cars waited in line and no one was taking orders, so they all backed up and left. After leaving a complaint with Corporate, Michelle left me a voicemail today; I called back immediately, only to get an automated message that said they weren't taking messages.
