The restaurant was very clean, both inside and out; the beverage counter was fully stocked; and the employees I talked to during our visit were extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful. Especially the older gentleman who took our order. He was funny and had me laughing with his comments about my Guns & Roses T-shirt I was wearing. As for the food, we had tacos and breakfast jacks with ham, and they definitely hit the spot. They were fresh and flavorful. I remember eating Jack-in-the-Box since the 1980s. The two taco special was hard to beat. The food is fast food, but it was hot and you could count on it being this consistency that you know. This place twice now my food seems like it's been cooked and sat in the tray for a half hour before they gave it to me. I have to say I will never eat here again. The people are OK. The food is terrible and tastes old. When you order it seems like it should be hot. Just saying. Too bad, fond 2 am memories. Not here, at least. read more

It's what you expect from a fast food stop on the way to Vegas. This location is attached to the Shell gas station and you can fill up, pick up snacks too. I got catfished by supreme sourdough jack - this was one of saddest sandwiches I've had. Has brown was good, coffee was a little watered down. read more

I don't normally review fast food on the road but this stop in Baker I was super impressed. The guy working behind the counter saw a $100 bill on the counter and showed his supervisor. She took the hundred and went and checked the cameras to see where it came from. The she walked into the dining room and gave the man his money back! I think it's just become the norm for fast food places to screw up orders, I mean I just can't be me. This Jack n the box wasn't my first choice but it seemed to be the only place open at the time. So I can't be any more clear when I tell them give me a #29 no ham with an orange juice. Sounds simple to me. Of course it wouldn't be right if they didn't put that ham on there anyway. Of course they did. Ok no problem, ill take it off. We'll if I do that I loose the cheese melted onto it. Not thay I don't like ham, I just don't want it but he'll I'll just eat it. Would be easy if they didn't leave the paper from the cheese on it also. Anyway it upsets me that the people making this food want raises when you need to earn them. My family was on the road for 6 1/2 hours and unfortunately in Baker CA,they are very slim options of fast food to choose from. Usually I go to Arby's...... Arby's is always usually fresh ready to go in decent fast food. Arby's n Carl's junior's were closed today. So Went to Jack-in-the-Box.... this seem like it was the only drive thru open. $32 for two 5piece nuggets and two large fries!!! Yes I have my receipt !!!that's freaking insane!!!! I literally had to dig up my receipt and doublecheck and it was correct. That would not be so bad because we ARE in a rush and you do get fresh food. everything was fresh hot n ready to go. Just a stone's throw from the world's largest thermometer and also connected to a Shell station sits Jack in the Box in Baker, CA. This was our last stop on our week long vacation to Colorado prior to getting home. Grandkids are hungry and adults are sick of McDonalds so we opt for Jack in the Box. The dining room is somewhat spacious and restrooms are clean so how about the food? I had the 2 taco special and a chicken tender wrapped in a flour tortilla. The tacos are surprisingly good for what is inside them and the chicken tender wrap was pretty tasty as well. The 2 tacos and the wrap was less than $5 so that satisfied the Cheap Pete in me. Prices are reasonable considering what it cost to eat out these days and so with a party of 8 we appreciated the Jack deals. As with most places, timing is critical. We ordered and found seats just in time as approximately 25 people were getting in line as we got our food. It could be that we were close to Alien Jerky or a tour bus was stopping after they visited the big thermometer. Anyway, it was good to fill the gas tank and everyone's belly's prior to getting home. Jack's earns a solid 3 star rating. I would go back. read more

We were on a road trip and getting hangry. After some searches, I saw there would be a Jack in the Box coming up, so I used the app to put in our order. We parked and went in, used the facilities and picked up our order. The main guy working at the counter was like my brother from another mother. He was so much fun. Lifted our spirits and our hanger disappeared. Fries were missing from the order but I went back up and waited until I could let him know. He didn't even question, just handed over some fries. I didn't catch this guy's name but it was between the hours of 7am-9am. He was great. Upbeat, funny, and just made the experience. I just visited this Jack in the Box en route to Las Vegas from California but was not impressed. The "Jumbo" Jack Cheeseburger I received was one of the smallest burgers I've seen, and close to the most well done hamburger patties I've ever encountered. Lettuce, tomato, and ketchup could not adequately disguise this basic flaw at the heart of this item. Seasoned French Fries tasted good but were clearly oversalted. The two free Regular Tacos with crispy shells and minced meat obtained with a company advertising coupon tasted the best, augmented by eight varieties of Diet Coke from one of two special Coke machines. I chose Vanilla Diet Coke, which became the highlight of this "mixed "bag" meal. It was very hot outside at 7:30 p.m., and very cold inside the packed restaurant. Disgusting!!!! I can't believe how gross this food was! I love Jack and I'm so tired of being disappointed by this location! Our fries were COLD and OLD! My Spicy Chicken Sandwich is not even edible! The meat is cold & hard and the bun fell apart after two bites due to way too much Mayo. They charged me 60 cents for 2.5 pickles!! One pickle was just a mushy half piece!! I can't even hold the sandwich to eat it bc it's mushy, cold and nasty MESS! I'm driving to LA so we can't just turn around and get our money back! All the prices are raised and the quality is beyond sub-par. Our drive thru attendant was the only good thing about this experience. He was very nice but whoever was making the food should be fired! I should review this. I mean, I'm usually the Duchess, so I should definitely say SOMETHING. I go to this Jack pretty much EVERY time I go to Vegas. Its a restroom break and a place to get an iced tea and sometimes a snack. Sometimes I pick up lottery tickets at the attached gas station. The line can get long at peak times like Friday nights, but usually its quick. The staff is friendly and the tea is decent. read more

Stopped here on our way to and fro our previous trip to Vegas. With the Alien Jerky in the same lot, it's a win/win situation. We arrived shortly after 11am to end empty lot, thankfully the restrooms in the connecting mini mart were open. We headed end and informed the young lady we had a mobile order, she seen my name on the screen and ensured me my food was coming up. Overall good experience, it still being early the food was freshly made. Our way back was pretty much the same, a little more people on a Sunday afternoon. I'm giving 4 stars because people driving through are pigs and maintaining "just ok" isn't easy at locations like this. That trash didn't try to escape it's fate and tragically die inches from the salvation of an open car door. It's Jack in the Box, the food is usually consistent between locations. Unlike some chains with wildly varying food quality, I'm comfortable with stopping off at ANY Jack in the Box and getting the food I expect. The service is another matter. Every year it just stays ok. Sometimes you get a great employee, sometimes a horrible one, but most of the time they are just ok. The cleanliness, the accuracy of the order, the way your burger is put together, it's ok. The main redemption for the service at most Jack in the Box is that if you say something, the majority of the time they fix the issue immediately without giving excuses. If you aren't "that customer", when it was your fault, they are usually nice enough to remake something and not charge you. This place is spot on, it was ok! Frankly after driving 3 hours in the dark, straight out of Death Valley, ok is good enough! This is Baker people, sometimes ok is exactly what you need when you're tired and hungry. read more

Every time I come to this location there is some type of issue. The location is dirty. There has been times that it has been super long lines inside people will be cutting each other and the employees don't do anything about it. Most of the times I have came here the employees are rude. The food is cold, sloppy, wrong and or not completed. One of the times I have came to this location I got my husband one of those chicken club sandwiches just to find out after leaving they didn't give it to us. when I called them and left a messages about that situation no one answered or called me back. They never answer their phones. I have came here before and during the pandemic. They do not sanitize between customers, some of the staff wears gloves others don't and that's the same for the masks. some employees I have seen wearing them and some do not or don't wear it covering there noise and mouth. This last time I have came was 1.21.2021 I walked in thru the shell gas station to get into their restaurant, there was a sign saying only the drive thru was open and if your car doesn't fit in the drive thru you can order on the app and call the store so they can bring it out to you, but then there is a different sign outside saying only drive thru. so I was about to place a order on the app but since they never answer I decided to call them to make sure it was okay to order on the app and that they will bring it out to me but as always they didn't answer their phone or return my calls after leaving them a message. They have this cool computer thing you can order your food from, but it's funny cuz it's right next to the cashier...maybe you're really only supposed to use it when they're really crowded. Same as any ole Jack in the Crack; food was as expected and haven't had any issues...been stopping here on trips to and from vegas for 10 years and we've been good. read more

Went through the drive-thru around 6am. It wasn't crowded and there was no line. Ordered a bacon, egg, & cheese biscuit breakfast sandwich. The gentleman who took my order confirmed that I wanted bacon instead of sausage, but when I got my order, it was incorrect and had sausage. We ordered 2 of the new sourdough patty melts and a kids meal. We opened up our patty melts and it had the meat patty, and 2 unmelted cheese. The drinks were watered down soda. The shells were so overcooked that all the flavor was burned out of them. They tasted like charcoal. Worst tacos I ever had. Every time we go to California we stop by here. And Every time we do come we leave super pleased. This jack in the box is by far the best one I've been too. I always order the ultimate cheeseburger. The buns are soft. The meat is fresh. All the other jack in the boxes buns are always dried out and blah. Defintly my go to when I'm in the area! read more
