Great experience at this Del Taco. It's super close to the EV charging stations and the giant thermometer. The fish taco combo was solid and the workers were very kind when we popped back in to use the restroom when the thermometer shop was closed. On our one stop here between Redlands, CA and Las Vegas, I tried a couple of new offerings. A Green Bean Burrito filled with cheese was smooth and filling, and a Cheese Quesadilla oozed out Cheddar Cheese. They were both filling and flavorful washed down with water and accompanied by good and hot crinkle-cut French Fries that tasted best dipped in ketchup. This Del Taco, now open each day to midnight, remains a good rest stop and source of tasty Americanized Mexican food for drivers who left Southern California en route to Las Vegas, or vice versa. read more

It's nice to stop in to get some food, use the restroom, and stretch out after a long drive. Located right next to the Giant thermometer in Baker. A pit stop before coming to Vegas. Five star review mainly because the bathrooms were very clean and they had 2 ply toilet paper! This Baker location has always been a prime location for people to stop and use the restroom and have lunch either on their way to Vegas or on the way home. The restaurant was very clean, the gentleman that took our order was very nice. They have a good selection of drinks with their drink machine. On our way to Vegas and made a stop over in Bakersfield. For a fast food restaurant it was nice. Less crowded, no line, fast service. The menu was a typical fast food tacos. We ordered chicken quesadillas and the Burris ramen. Both were good a little salty. Overall a quick stop to grab food this place is good Ambiance very typical fast food. read more

I'm always in Vegas at I stop to use the bathroom here every time. They are usually clean and there's about 5 stalls in the women's bathroom. Today, I decided I should get a snack. My fiancé has the app and tried to scan it for points and the woman working the register said they don't scan at their location. I asked "do you take mobile orders" and her response was "we don't scan the app, we don't take American Express or EBT". Are you trying to be funny right now because that's not what I asked you. Because I was in a good mood, I didn't let her have it and yes she was not Black. Of course the prices are more expensive at this location as it is in the middle of nowhere. By far the best Del Taco I have experienced. They do not participate in the DT mobile app or points since this is privately owned and operated but this is perhaps why their tacos and burritos are larger and more flavorful. The best way to describe this location is more of a mom and pop type of Mexican restaurant that is housed inside a Del Taco. This is my go-to on the way home from Vegas. read more

A hot spot (pun intended!) near the world's largest thermometer, one would think this Del Taco location would be teeming with a zillion customers, but though we hit the lunch hour, service was quick a an employees were super friendly! Stopped for some food and to use the restroom. Ordered the crispy chicken tacos and those were well prepared and very tasty. I used the restroom and it was very clean and well stocked with toilet paper, napkins, and soap. The dining room was very clean and welcoming. I asked for the manager and was introduced to Lupe. I thanked her for having such a clean restaurant and serving well made food. She said she knows folks stop in to stretch their legs and she likes to provide great service. The service was absolutely terrible I am completely aware that one of the only real rest stops to exist on the way to Vegas will always be jammed packed and busy, but that's does not excuse ignoring customers who are politely trying to get your attention. The manager fully looked me in my eyes and walked away when I asked a simple question. In additionally, the quality of food was putrid. My burrito legit was just a block of funky a$$ cheese. Decent restaurant if you are in Baker and need a quick meal while you take a break from the road. We were coming from Death Valley and stopped by here since they were near the Tallest Thermometer! You can take decent photos from their photos of the thermometer, a little tip for you! Your regular Del Taco meals, clean inside, they offer only take out during the pandemic, no dining in. We stopped in on the way back from Vegas. We went in, ordered, and got our food to go. The employee taking our order seemed new and didn't know how to operate the computer well. Also, I asked for no tomatoes on my tacos... and instead, all three of them had tomatoes but no meat. It was a real bummer. But thumbs up for crinkle cut fries! read more

Why, Del Taco? Why hath thou forsaken me? You know it's 115° out here, so why u no put enough ice in my drink when the soda is way too diluted with tepid carbonated water? The 99¢ bean and cheese burritos here are lime the size of the 59¢ burritos at other DT's, and if you ask for extra of anything: onion, green/red sauce, sour cream, napkins... it somehow gets translated to the kitchen and bag crews as DO NOT ADD ANY... IN FACT, PUT NONE IN THERE. Best not to mention ingredients or requests and just hope for the best. And then, there are the myriad delights of some of Barstow's finest denizens-- scratchy, downtrodden tweakers with all sorts of hard-luck stories to facilitate their panhandling schtick. I once saw three meth heads walk out of the store to a car in the lot, sit down inside, and pass a meth pipe around in the hot box car with the windows up on a blisteringly hot day... and then the actual owner of the car came out, confronted them, and they scurried off like roaches. All this from the drive thru vantage point. So why come back? Despite being in the sort of isolated location along I 15 this is a very good Del taco location I was very pleased with both the food quality and especially with the great service provided. I got one of the grilled breakfast wrap burritos and it was cooked very nicely and tasted great. The ice coffee was good as well so it was a nice little quick breakfast stop. They do have a drive-through. I did the walk in which was just as efficient, if not more, so I was very happy about that and overall would definitely come here again. read more

Consistent, fresh, tasty and affordable. Del Taco is one chain I can fully support. It has all the convenience of a fast food place including drive thru window and delivers that local small shop flavor and quality you typically miss out on with giant chain brands. Awesome and worthy of mention, they have the Del Taco brand sauces at the tables as well as Del Taco brand ketchup packets. The sauces are really tasty and not overpowering. Just left, had a hair in my strawberry sprite after drinking a 1/4 of it and finishing my food, we noticed. We told the ladies just to be told it was a short hair?! Newsflash, my hair is longer than yours. I never opened the cap since they serve it for you so how would it get it? On top of that, they made me feel uncomfortable the whole tome dining in since the cooks were staring at us and talking about us the whole time as if we can't see them. The only okay one was the casgier who rang us up other than that, the rest were just awful and left a gross experience that made my stomach turn. Quite happy with our first Del Taco experience! We had been on the road for almost 8 hours from Vegas and the kids were begging for tacos! Our family of 5 ate here for under $11 - that's a few bucks cheaper than what we would have spent at Taco Bell and the portions and amount of meat was larger. I quite liked the tostada and bean cup. The $1 menu was quite extensive here and tacos were only 69 cents! We will most definitely be back. I never thought I'd give Del Taco four stars but this place was literally an oasis in the desert. As a woman, pit stops can be... scary. This is probably the cleanest restroom I've encountered on any trip I've been on. The staff was super pleasant, polite and speedy. They had us in and out of there in record time especially with a crowd. But the shocker - it was the best quesadilla I've ever had from a Del Taco and not just because I was hungry like it was actually flavorful. So if you're looking for a clean restroom and familiar food, this is a must stop. read more

Took two stars off since they don't accept the Del Taco App or the corporate coupons... I will add that they do make the best tacos out of all the other locations I've been to. Next time I'll pass this location and head to the original Barstow location. I'm sure they'll accept both the app and the corporate issued meal coupons! read more
