The pork fried rice was underwhelming. The pork was tough, and the flavor seemed to be little more than soy sauce. It was mostly rice with a few onion slices and pieces of pork. The General Tso's Chicken was disappointing as well. There was very little actual chicken and a lot of batter. The sauce was brown in color and tasted nothing like the General Tso's sauce I've had elsewhere. It lacked flavor, and aside from a single piece of pepper, there were no vegetables. The Crab Rangoon was okay. The texture was different from what I'm used to, but it was edible. Overall, I found it to be an $18.75 meal that was largely inedible. While I appreciate the friendly service, the food simply wasn't for me, and unfortunately my second visit didn't change my opinion.

However, I had to make a choice, given that I've been a bit disappointed twice in a row, 3 it is then. The first visit, I had lunch special Thai eggplants with hot & sour soup. The hot & sour soup was delicious, although it's not the original SiChuan style. It substituted the signature day lily buds to golden needle mushrooms instead. It appears to be the Fuzhou style where the owner & chef are from, nonetheless, it's still very tasty. The Thai eggplants didn't come with any meat. I didn't know it's a vegetarian dish until it's too late, would have preferred to add some beef to it. The flavor was good but it's just too greasy, it sits in a puddle of oil as you can see from the photo. There are ways to make it less greasy but it takes efforts. Efforts take time & time is money, Apparently, this was something not worthy of improving when I brought it up. I kind of understand it but also felt disappointed at the same time. The second lunch visit, i ordered my favorite Japanese dish Unagi Don, I.e. Grilled eel on rice. I was more disappointed than the first time. The eel was barely warm, from the taste & texture, I felt it was precooked & microwaved upon order. The eel sauce was subpar & the slight fishiness further supports my suspension. This is a subpar Unagi Don experience unfortunately. I don't feel so bad now on giving it 3 star. I may return one more time to try out their sushi sashimi offerings, however, not in a any rush & not getting my hopes up either.

Upon opening the doors, I was pleasantly surprised by how delightful and well-appointed the restaurant appeared. The host greeted me with a warm smile, which made the whole visit feel inviting. The menu was beautiful, with photos of each dish that made ordering genuinely fun. I was starving, but I had to remind myself that ordering too much food might mean flavors clashing with each other -- though with everything looking so good, it was a tough call. LOL I started with drinks: Thai iced tea, hot tea, and ice water. Each one was great, but one stood out -- and I completely forgot to ask what type of hot tea it was. It caught my attention even before it arrived at the table; it was so fragrant, almost hypnotic. My best guess is it was one of three: oolong, jasmine, or chrysanthemum. You know that feeling when someone walks by and a faint perfume catches you off guard, making you turn your head just to compliment them and ask what they're wearing? That's exactly what this tea did to me. But then the food arrived, and I completely forgot to circle back and ask. They don't have a liquor license yet so check with them about BYOB and corkage fee if they're allowing that Everyone was so nice, service was great but they may still be working the kinks out because everything was served staggered, to the point where we had to start eating one plate so it didn't get cold while waiting for the other. Excellent chili oil dumplings. Sesame chicken was delicious with fresh everything including fresh pieces of garlic which I thought was great, something you don't see enough of. The sauces was almost too thick but still very good. The beef and broccoli tasted great and had real pieces of ginger and garlic which I loved but the sauce must've seized or something because it was gummy almost. And the white rice to go with each entree arrived way after the dishes did. But again, little kinks that I'm sure they're still working out. I cannot wait to try them again soon!
