I wish I had read some of these reviews before I took my comforter to be cleaned here. I thought Slater White had a good reputation. I asked for laundry service rather than dry clean because of the chemicals. When I picked it up the charge was $42 after a 25% discount and I found out they did not follow my instructions and it was dry cleaned. When I put the comforter back on the bed, I noticed a terrible smell. The whole comforter had a sour smell that transferred to all of the other linens that were on the bed. I took it off and spread it out in the living room on one of the couches hoping to air it out. Nothing worked. I went back to the cleaners to complain and have it re-cleaned and the girl told me that the manager was on vacation and there was nothing she could do except have it re-cleaned and they would have to charge me again read more

I dropped off 4 shirts on Monday morning. I was told they would be ready the next day after 6pm. I show up Tuesday at 6pm and was told they had not arrived yet. This doesn't warrant a one star review. The response to some of my questions does. I was asking questions on whether or not they would arrive before they closed. The guy answered I don't know the driver told me I wasn't going to risk his life. The employee proceeded to tell me he didn't promise me s*%t! He then threatened me saying, what do you want to do? I go to the gym. To be honest I was shocked. I also wish I had read some of these reviews before taking my items here. One of the reviews mentions an employee named Dereck talking about going to the gym. I'm pretty sure it is the same guy. Idk what his motive was, or whether he was being a smart ass, but it turned me off to using the business. This place doesn't want business. When I arrived on Saturday with three pieces to be dry cleaned, a man was inside with his backpack on. I pulled on the door to go inside, but it was locked. I stepped back to read the sign that clearly stated they were open until 3:00. It was 2:58. I pointed to the sign, looked at my watch, held up the number two indicating that there were still two minutes until closing. He just stared and shrugged. I bought a Beautiful Faux Leather jacket in Italy. I took it to Slater-White on Wilderness Oak and Hardy Oak (next to Whataburger) only to find out they would completely ruin it. The jacket is as stiff as can be and crunches to pieces as you touch it. We all make mistakes. That's what makes us human. What bothered me the most, however, was the insensitivity shown by their management. No one ever contacted me, never offered to reimburse me and worst of all, NEVER even received an APOLOGY. Word of mouth can make or break a business. Evidently, whoever is running that establishment does not care about having a successful business. Had a little trouble with store being temp closed for 15 minutes, until I got locker service. Closed account when moved from SA last August. Fraudulent charge on my card (that was supposed to be deleted) May this year. Store employee played dumb and was going to call back, no call back, next store employee told me that the first one I talked to was the mgr, had to bring proof of transaction to store for mgr (1:15 drive one way), mgr conveniently took day off, contacted website (no address, no phone numbers, no management) with NO RESPONSE! I took two identical pair of women's slacks, one tan and one black to be dry cleaned. The tan ones came back just fine, but the black ones had been ironed flat, with no creases, and the material and elastic were stretched completely out of shape. When I put them on, they were huge, while the tan ones were just fine. I was told that there was nothing they could do, because they followed the washing instructions on the pants. I reminded and showed them the tan pants, which were normal, and the identical black ones clearly had been pressed out of shape. I was treated like a criminal, and offered some very shaky and defensive excuses, such as there was another dry cleaners tag stapled inside the pants, (as I had moved to this neighborhood from another location, and of course I had taken them to another cleaners before). The woman was very defensive and did not seem to care that the pants were ruined. I will never go to this establishment again. read more

I call the manager Gary and he tells me he has told his manager Jody to call me, and this has been going on for a month with NO return call from anyone. They ruined a pair of $600 Armani linen slacks from Saks. I filled out a claim, they agreed they were now covered in yellow splotches because CLEARLY they don't know how to care for this fabric, and this was all in April of 2017. It's now July. The corporate number is a recording, and all I can find for them to go over the incompetent management's head are these bad reviews...everywhere. DO NOT get involved with this cleaners. NEVER AGAIN. apparently it takes 3 times to pick up your dry cleaning. the first time i tried to pick up i arrived at 6:45 pm and my clothes should have been ready for pick up at 6 pm but the driver hadn't arrived yet. ok strike one. i went back a couple days later at 11 am and the sign on the door said closed. really? they should have been open at 7 am. I called another location to see if i could find out what was going on and left a message. someone called me back to say that they were having a problem with the employee not being able to come in due to the heavy thunderstorms. strike two. i went back the next week and asked if i could get a discount for having to come back 3 times and was told to leave a note with my phone number. i did leave my info but am not surprised that i didn't get a call back. worst customer service ever. read more

Tried the cleaners because it is close to home. Big mistake! Took a comforter in to be cleaned because my husband cut himself shaving and there were a few spots on the comforter. Was rudely told by the Manager that they do not clean anything that has bodily fluids on it. What's the point of offering a cleaning service if you won't clean what needs to be cleaned?! Wow. I cannot belive this place. Firstly, they didn't even dry clean my clothes when I came to pick them up. Literally, they pressed them, and didn't clean them. There was hair ALL over them!! Then, they recleaned them, and upped the price by $12 after the fact, saying well, this shirt was more like a dress, and silk, so we had to charge you more. We have TRIED to like this cleaners but we give up. we switched from Dutch Boy because it closed and we have regretted it. the location is new so you would think they would really work for your business. The morning staff could care less what instructions you give them because they are just going to throw your clothes in a bag and do the clothes the way they want. I have had several redos and one dress shirt burned. The reaction from the employee was "oh sorry". Do not drop clothes off at opening time because employees have to finish texting before they unlock the door. All my dress shirts look like they have been stacked in a pile in the delivery truck. Collars are often pressed bent with wrinkles. The best thing about this location is it is by Whataburger! I agree with the review by Joyce F!! read more

I dropped off 10 shirt on Monday. The girl at the counter was very friendly and helpful. She checked my shirts and said it would be $2.95 each and they would be ready on Wednesday. Today I got a voicemail to call the location back. I called back around 6pm and spoke to someone that stated she did not work at that location. From the start she was completely rude and unhelpful. She said she was informed over the situation and she would leave a note for someone. She kept repeating that the shirts needed to be dry cleaned because they had stretch that would be $7.95. I told her I understood but I was told that it would be $2.95 per shirt and I needed the shirts by tomorrow due to my husband leaving out of town. She got irrate and loud and kept telling me that she couldn't do anything and would leave a note. I did tell her that her rudeness was unnecessary. She then got louder speaking over me . For being a 1st time customer this is not a great experience. To top things of I have tried several times to email customer service and it boots me out. I will be calling tomorrow and hope that I get a friendly person that can resolve this. read more

First of all, when I pay more for essentially the same service, I expect more. Slater White is the most expensive cleaners I've found in the area, but I procrastinated and needed my jeans before Easter. Dropped 2 pair off Friday morning and was promised them by Friday evening. Went Saturday morning, paid, then discovered one pair had a large stain on the leg. Clerk verified that nothing was noted when I dropped them off, so offered at redo. They would be ready Monday, March 28th. Went in Tuesday morning and they were nowhere to be found. Was promised a call back within the hour. 4 hours later I called and spoke with a different employee. Still nothing..... I asked who I could speak to that may have info regarding my jeans. Employee said, "Lucy, the District Manager", then proceeded to give me her phone number. Attempted to call with no answer. Left message. Nothing. Several days later, I called again around 7:30am. She answers and has the audacity to give me attitude about me calling her on her personal cell phone. What?! This was the number YOUR employee provided me. She tells me that the "policy" is they have 2 weeks to find my jeans. After that, I will be reimbursed. By the way, I have to go back to the store and fill out a form, which is sent with the driver (hope he doesn't lose it) and wait up to 10 business days for the check. It's been 3 weeks since I spoke with Lucy and no check. I've asked repeatedly for updates, etc. Nothing. No follow up. No apology from Lucy. Nothing. Obviously, Slater White does not value their customers at all. So, I will share my horrible experience every chance I get and will blast them on review sites. That's my "policy". Next, phone call is to the owner, Paul Brown. I have now wasted several hours in driving and phone calls because of incompetence. I now take my business to Frontier Cleaners. I feel valued there and, as a bonus, pay half as much. Absolutely, no chance I will ever set foot in Slater White again. read more
