Very friendly people, but improper tailoring practices (per my new tailor). When taking in slacks and skirts, they did not measure to make it even, which can be seen from the distance between back pockets and center seam. I took them to a different seamstress and she measured them to be off by a third an inch, and explained to me that it appeared the fabric was taken in from one side versus both sides. This causes the back of the slacks to look pinched at the center seam, like the fitness influencer butt scrunch shorts. They also forgot to add the back belt loops back on. My new tailor is trying to fix them, but she told me that ATG did not leave any fabric to let them back out and is recommending I throw out these pants altogether. I think these women are very nice and were friendly, and that's why I am giving 2-stars. But I paid around $800 to get several skirts, slacks, and jackets taken in. For the price, I wish they had been more detail oriented with measuring out exact lengths, and I wish they'd left some fabric for future alterations (which I have been told is typical practice). read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I dropped this dress off on Monday and just needed the straps taken in a little and the length a tiny bit shorter. When I tried the dress on, the man spent maybe 5 seconds pinning the dress and didn't even let me describe what I wanted done to it. I was in a rush, so I just figured he knew what he was doing and let it go. I told him I needed it for an event Saturday and was willing to pay the rush fee to be able to pick it up Saturday morning, and he told me he would have it ready by Friday and to come then (seems great!). I get there on Friday and the same man is working. I hand him my ticket and he looks through the racks maybe 5 times and "can't find my dress". Even asks what color it is and when I dropped it off. Finally after 10 minutes, he finds it sitting on the floor... exactly where he sat it down on Monday when I handed it to him... with the 2 pins still in it. At this point I'm really upset, but he feels bad and says he will have it done before they close (in an hour), but I feel bad and don't want him to rush and do a bad job, so I just say I'll come Saturday morning when they open to pick it up. About 40 minutes later, I get a text saying my dress is done and ready for pickup. I had plans and wasn't able to get it that night, so I go Saturday morning to get it. And guess what... it looks absolutely horrible. Who hems the length of a dress but doesn't even check the inner liner to make sure it's not showing?? And now the dress flares out on the sides?? And it is way too short since you didn't even take the time to pin it and check it?? And this cost me $80?!? Insane. I tried to explain the situation to the lady working on Saturday, but she did not care at all. This place is very overpriced and genuinely just not good. Not coming back. I had a great experience! They were friendly, professional and quick! One day service to have a pair of pants hemmed. They did a great job!!

Owner and her family are nice. However, my most recent experience was disappointing. Initially I took 3 knit jackets to have sleeves shortened. The first jacket was done to see how it turned out before releasing work on the other 2. Upon trying on the first jacket it was obvious the sleeves had been turned inside out and stretched to perform the work. The sleeves were like bell-bottoms at the end. I took it home to wash and see if it would go back to its original shape. It did not. The other 2 jackets were done with more care and turned out fine. I returned with 2 new sport coats for similar adjustment and returned the jacket with the stretched out sleeves to be corrected as well. I was surprised when picking up the 2 sport coats and the original jacket to be charged for the taking in of the sleeves which had been stretched during the initial alteration. I paid the total bill to avoid conflict and expressed disappointment all considering. I debated doing a review as it is not a common practice, but after reading some other's reviews for this business I decided it best to share my experience. Ultimately the work was done correctly and I am pleased with the results. Unfortunately time to complete, high pricing, and now paying to correct their mistakes, too, make this provider an unlikely option going forward. read more

First off: this place does not accept credit cards just Venmo , checks, and cash which is very inconvenient given we are living in 2024. We can't even pay with a debit/credit card. Second: I went in requesting to adjust the straps to bring them in as they were too long and was charging $32 which was more than the shirt itself the pricing is expensive here I will no longer be using them. She expressed her apologies for what had happened and shared the ways in which she had taken steps to prevent similar situations in the future. We spoke on the phone, and she offered to pick up the items still in need of repair from my original ticket. Not only did she complete them beautifully, but she used creativity and long-term planning to ensure that the repairs would resist future wear and tear. She is highly organized, prompt, a good listener, and dedicated to customer satisfaction. I was really delighted with the work. First, this is my first time to leave a review for any business. I used to love this place. But I took some nice pants there in December, and yes, it took me three months to go pick them up. I only had one text message, never a phone call, reminding me to pick up. I went to pick up and also took three dresses to be altered. After trying on all dresses, he told me the owner gave away my pants! What??? Three months. And she just gave them away? I'm so upset. That is not okay and they were expensive pants. And ZERO warning they would just throw your clothes out if you don't come promptly to pick them up. Unbelievable. That is stealing. I have warned many who say they won't go back, including my family. This place is awesome!! I purchased these shoes size 5 wide fit, and was so devastated because they did not fit. I couldn't figure out how to make them work for me and considered returning them, but then I came across this business. Their response time is so prompt, and I was able to take my shoes to them the same day I messaged them! All of the associates are so kind and welcoming, and they worked with me to ensure my shoes were the perfect fit for me! Took a dress in that accidentally was put in the dryer and shrunk substantially. I found some fabric that was close to the design and took it in to Santiago ,who is the tailor at this location, to have him add fabric to the bottom and also to the straps at the shoulders. Brought in a number of shirts for minor alterations and patches. My first trip was simple enough I was quoted for the work and approved it. When I picked up the first batch of shirts, I paid for them and later noticed some work was not done. When asking the gentlemen there about it he seemed to imply that since another garment was a difficult repair that would somehow excuse them from this repair, although it was paid in full. I noticed the "difficult" repair was not done as I asked either. Overall my impression is poor business practices and communication from this store. Better check what they give you back! read more

Excellent work but I was charged 250 for minor alterations on 2 tops and two bottoms Typically I'd expect to pay around 100 dollars or less for similar alternations. I was given no notice Of the price of my alteration prior upon drop of the week and a half before, and no receipt. I do not recommend simply due to the fact of being over charged and my uniforms weren't even ready on time. read more

I brought two quality fitted bedsheets in to have several small tears patched. A woman I presume to be the owner/manager marked some of them together with me and quoted the price. When picking the sheets up, some of the tears were iron patched but not all of them were sewn, which they promptly re-did while I waited. But there were still tears in the sheet even after that. I said I would come back later, as I had toddlers to feed, asking this be attended to. When returning, at least one obvious tear remained and I was told that due to COVID, the business was only sewing face masks and that no alterations could be done for anyone. I paid $38.00 for two quality sheets to receive minor repairs, and still, only have one that I can use. I think this company misunderstands that I paid to have sheets again useful to me, not just to have x number of holes repaired. Charge me more, this is fine. I had these in before COVID and they've had plenty of time to do the work. She's open enough to receive my payment & to hand me back my sheets. Her tailors are all in the work-space. I do NOT recommend this business (ALAMO HEIGHTS location). It took 3 weeks and a lot of "excuses" to finally get some curtains made. The company that I work for had a client that needed 7 curtains made. I was told that they could make them. There was a setback because we had to get additional material (that was NOT the fault of this business). On October 29, I delivered the remaining material so the curtains could be made. One week later, he still had not started on the curtains. I appreciate that he offered to show me a sample before completing the remaining 6 curtains. However I told him that I did NOT need to see a sample, for him to go ahead and make the curtains. On November 5th, I was told that the curtains would be ready on November 12. I received a text on November 12th stating they would be ready the NEXT day. Then on November 20th, I finally was able to get there to pick up the curtains and he had only had ONE made! He promised that they would be finished today (11/21) because I told him that I would be back when they opened. I kept my word and they STILL were NOT done when I arrived at 9:15am. I was told "2 more to do". So once again, I told him that I would be back after a meeting that I had to go to & would be back before noon. He gave me his word that they would be completed. Almost 3 hours later, I returned & this time he STILL had 2 more to finish. What was he doing all that time?! He tried to tell me that they would be ready this afternoon. I was told that lie several times, so I decided to sit there until they were complete. This kind of service is unacceptable!! read more
