I called the number, gentleman told me to wait for a tech to call. Tech called within 5 minutes. He said he could be there at my convenience and I stressed that this was no emergency and didn't need emergency pricing. He said no problem they work all the time. We agreed on an 8pm arrival, Dan was on time. I sent him pics before hand and he had everything in his trunk. We went to the apt, he immediately went to work. The locking mechanism and cylinder needed replacement, I offered to supply as I have a box of such things from owning the building for many years. He said it would save me the cost of the hardware and he only charged me for the install which was $175 and worth every penny. Considering he had to reshape the metal door with a hammer - which he did quite nicely.

Honestly would have given 4 stars if they hadn't bait and switched me. The locksmith showed up…read moreafter 25 minutes, said it would be $135 if he opened it with the shim. I said ok, he opened the door with the shim, and the price magically jumped to $230 for an additional "service charge" that was never mentioned. I paid it because it was 1 am and I was exhausted, but I called the business afterwards to have a conversation about what I considered to be a dishonest business practice. After I managed to have one conversation with a manager where he said he would "check his records" and get back to me, he fully ghosted me. They also do business under Open Locksmith, so stay away from both.

My neighbor was able to pick up the key within a few minutes, and Amazon didn't even ask me to pay until I was back in town the next week and could stop by. We used them again when our door lock got messed up, and it seemed like a really challenging job, but they handled it professionally, explained the issue, and the price was totally fair. I did though remember Just Bulbs being the place to go for bulbs, especially when you need them for more than just light.
