I wish I could give Zero stars. The worst customer service; the sales reps started complaining & talking about me before I left the store. I suggested they wait until I leave to do that & she tried to backtrack with some stupid cover-up. When I called her on that- she said- well, we have had bad days! When I said, that's no excuse; she said well, we have construction going on & listen to what we are dealing with; when I said that wasn't an excuse- she yelled at me to leave. read more

This is a response to the reply GPS left to my wife Janice G's post about two vanities being damaged. We deliberately did not reference Michele by name. Michele is an excellent sales rep. She was nothing but wonderful. She was very helpful with design choices and gave us the time we needed. This is not about Michele, it's about overall GPS mgmt. To me this does represent the whole of GPS, are you not one company? You delivered broken vanities not once but twice. Do you find that acceptable? How do you control your shipping and delivery people? Great showroom performance was undone by poor delivery quality. I tried to contact your delivery manager by phone. I also tried to reach out to your CEO and president via email to no avail, with no response, so we then posted a yelp review We had to go to another distributor because we have no confidence in GPS handling custom vanities. You do fine on plumbing components, Not vanities. We had zero issues on plumbing parts. I work for a large company. We treat our customers like gold, we know they have choices. Retaining customers is key to growing a business. When you mess up, as we all do at times, you go above and beyond to satisfy customers. And you provide your employees with whatever support they need. That's how its done. Consider Looking at Nordstrom, rue lala for companies that know how to treat customers I hope our feedback motivates GPS to take a good internal look at their processes and then institute some positive changes in their operations. Ordered $3000 worth of fixtures. Had to go 3 times and nearly get down on my knees and beg to give my money away. Staff is indifferent and run around like they are are overdosing on caffeine but don't seem to do anything. Actually they do answer the phone and answer questions to the callers while paying customers sit in front of them and wait. As usual first order came in wrong. Good Luck ! read more

Just a warning for anyone thinking of doing business with this company. To make this as short as possible. We ordered a very expensive bathroom vanity from them. When it was delivered it was broken. The box it was in was broken as well as the pallet it was on. There was only one person delivering it & he had a very hard time maneuvering it. We had to reorder & wait an additional four weeks for a replacement. They said they would take extra care 2nd time. Nonetheless Replacement came with only one person delivering it again. Was having a very hard time maneuvering box with broken pallet, and it tilted and fell off the truck, and broke the second vanity. Unbelievable! No apology from GPS mgmt, didn't seem to care about broken vanity and didn't offer any compensation for all the lost time on our renovation. Our contractor said in his 40 yrs in business has never seen such poor customer service. No answer to email I sent to president and CEO. They did refund us since we never received a useable vanity. Beyond that they could care less. Terrible treatment of a repeat customer who bought plumbing supplies previously. Wished they would've given us the courtesy of discussing the situation and offered something to acknowledge the hassle and month delay on our bathroom renovation. read more

He helped fix a few snaffus! with size issues once our remodel was in place and never fussed a bit. Our plumber made some install incorrectly for our specs and a toilet could not be used. I've been there several times and bought a lot of items to renovate my home. My experiences have been excellent with numerous people who work there as well as the items purchased. I don't understand the bad reviews as the good reviews are consistent with my experiences. At no point have I felt pressured or heard any typical sales talk. They appear to respect the customers and focus on satisfying our needs and desires. Although my friends did not buy much there, they felt the same way I did when they were there. read more

I went in there looking for help and the second I started talking to one of the parts guys, I could tell he wasn't interested in working. He didn't want to even get up to look around. All I kept hearing was no. We don't have anything like that. I asked about piecing together some different parts. Again, nope, can't help. So I went to Lowe's and they were super helpful. Do yourself a favor and go see Sherri! We are building a custom home and I have to make a LOT of selections. Sherri has been an amazing help. Being new to the world of plumbing, shower valves, shower trim, faucets, shower heads, toilets etc etc, I was overwhelmed the first time I walked into GPS. Sherri walked me through it all and was extremely knowledgeable and patient. In addition, she has fantastic taste and I came to really appreciate her input. We have updated our master bathroom. It looks great, however, the Koehler bathtub faucet assembly that our contractor purchased from General Plumbing supply in Green Brook NJ is missing the necessary pieces to complete the project. This has been going on for more than 6 weeks! Either Koehler or General Plumbing Supply should stand behind the products they sell so that our bathroom can be completed. What should be done is a whole new faucet assembly should be sent to us with all of the requisite pieces. How discouraging and unprofessional these two companies are to leave us waiting so long for a complete bathroom faucet assembly. Both companies should be ashamed of their lack of customer service. read more

Just had the Starmark cabinets that I purchased from Joe P. at General Plumbing Supply installed and I couldn't be happier. They are beautiful, and Joe did an EXCELLENT job designing and measuring and helping me along the way. Our cabinets came in two months before our contractors were ready to put them in, and he was still incredibly helpful when we needed assistance months later during the install. He knows a lot about cabinets and was patient with the 1,001 questions I asked him. Plus, GPS was $4,000 cheaper than another dealer up north and between $3,000-$7,000 than a dealer in Madison! I searched and searched for kitchen cabinets, and I am so glad I stumbled on this company. I love my new Starmark custom cabinets, and my kitchen is what I dreamed it would be. The service GPS offered was beyond excellent. From the measuring to after the install Joe Pelligrino was the consummate professional. Not only did they give me the best price on gorgeous custom, wood cabinets, Joe was available to answer any questions I had before, during, and after the install. I have been here twice. The first time I went the person helping us was rude and condescending and I thought I would give them a second chance. I went there again and dealt with another employee with a horrible attitude. If I didn't need the products right away I would definitely go elsewhere. DO NOT GO!!! The customer service is awful! You can find the same items at Home Depot, and you can actually return them to Home Depot if there is an issue at any time. They give you 30 days to return items knowing construction takes more than 30 days. Many of the items also need to be ordered before construction even starts to get them in time. Then when you need to return something they claim it was a special order, but they didn't tell you that in the first place. I have over $400 of stuff that I asked to return and they won't even respond to me. Not only that but when I ordered a tub the sales person who was helping me "design" my bathroom didn't realize the drain was square on that tub, but the drain we ordered was round, eventhough that's kind of her job. So they came and traded out the tub for another style that I had to research online they basically tried to tell me too bad! So they came and picked up the tub which the guy destroyed while picking it up, and brought me a new one that they then tried to charge me an additional $600 for eventhough it is $350 at Home Depot! This tub was less expensive than the one I bought, they forgave the $600 but didn't credit me the difference! So to save everyone the trouble don't go there! There are plenty of other places in the area that will work with you besides them! And if it's something basic the big box stores can help you at just as much as they can if not more! Worst experience ever I can't say enough bad things about them! DO NOT GO! read more
