So I visited my family in Seattle for my 58th Birthday 4/24 and told my sister that when I arrived I wanted a haircut. One of my sisters friend recommended this shop. I've never had my hair cut by a barber so I was a little anxious. The shop was clean and professional and btw I looooved my haircut. Next time I'm visiting from Inglewood Cali I'll be visiting again. Ok imma post before and after pics don't trash the before LOL! Thank you Jameel!!! read more

Reggie is a great guy that takes his job serious and is very professional! He use to cut my sons hair in the past until he moved to a shop in Seattle and it was a little too far to go to! He was our savior today lol when he was able to fit my son in last minute the day before Thanksgiving (Unheard of in this industry) Off of that alone he gets 5 stars, but on top of it did a great job as always! Really has me contemplating on making this drive every other week due to the great Service! If you're searching for a new barber and your in or near Seattle, check him out! Not much parking next to the shop so I suggest parking directly across the street in the Safeway parking lot! read more

J Styles Barber Shop - Master Barber Jameel at work! - Barbers Near Me - Seattle, Washington

It took a bit of searching, but my boyfriend finally found this shop and has been thrilled. He goes to Mike and the quality of the cut is superb, he gets you in and out, and the last time he went they started accepting credit cards. I don't know if everyone accepts credit cards, or if it was just Mike, but please be sure to ask before you head in there. We moved from Chicago last summer and it was the biggest pain in the ass trying to find a barbershop, especially since we live in South Lake Union and there aren't many shops catered to black hair care in the area. If you're in need of a barbershop please save yourself the hassle and give these guys a call. Your hairline will be happy. read more

J Styles Barber Shop - Hair cut from Mike - Barbers Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Hard to find a babershop that is excellent at cutting ethnic hair, especially being from out of town. Called them up the day before I landed and made an appointment. Came in and got a great cut from Mike. Price is good, typical shop atmosphere and although he joked around with the other barbers, he never stopped cutting my hair. Mike is solid. Would definitely recommend to anyone with ethnic hair. read more

Clean cuts and great atmosphere. Diverse cuts so don't be afraid to schedule an appt! Josh is a beast and so is Jameel!

Best place for a skin fade, as in, anywhere in the country (place in La Jolla, CA might be a close second). It's been a while since I've been here (made the mistake of trying "The Parlour" in Columbia City and another place in Bellevue), but I'm looking forward to going back to J Styles. Support this business!!! read more

I first moved here in June of 2007 from the east coast. I tried out four different barbers in the area before being recommended to Jameel. He was able to give me a fast and extremely good cut without needing much explaining from me. I've recommended over ten of my friends to him and they have also recommended friends of theirs. My friends are of all different ethnicities, so I am 110% sure they do a great job on any kind of hair. The quality of these cuts are great. If you're from the east coast, you need to go to this shop to be satisfied. Jameel's staff (Josh, Omar and Carlos) are also very good barbers. From time-to-time I've gotten my hair cuts from them when Jameel is on vacation, and they have all done a great job. Finally, their hospitality is second to none. My home barbershop was not only a place to get a haircut, but also to talk about anything and everything going on in the community. Jameel and his staff are geniuninely great people to be around and I'd recommend his shop to anyone. He and his staff make every effort to accommodate their customers from coming in early, staying late, or squeezing you in just in time to make your flight on time. If you want your head looking crisp and clean, go to J Styles. read more

I have been taking my son to Jamiel for years. He has been consistent with his professionalism and providing a clean and positive environment for all ages and genders. With that said...this is still a genuine barber shop so there is lots of banter about sports, politics, race, economics...basically you name it...it's all fair game at the barber shop. The other barbers there have always treated my son and I with genuine courtesy and respect...so you really can't go wrong in my mind. If you want to get in with J...make an appointment and know that he geneally runs 10 minutes late or so...and once you establish a rapor with him he'll even call you to tell you that...I'm pretty sure most barbers wouldn't do that...so with that said I am sure my son will continue to go to J for years to come. I don't know the normal price of a cut...but I think J chartes $15 or maybe $17... read more

Been taking my boys here for about 12 years. Great guys. No cursing and disrespecting women. Always a great conversation going on. Of course the cuts are on point and the prices don't drain your pockets. read more

J Styles is an awesome barber and really good at his craft. I'm always happy when my son and I walk out of his shop.

FYI for out of town ppl. Only ever review when things go real bad. This man can't cut first of all. Left my head with an offset line. Second don't let him over charge you. Was only visiting Seattle and had to learn the hard way that not all shops are the same. Maybe if you're local he treats you different idk. read more

I've been going to mike for the last 2.5 years. I drive all the way down from UW every week to get my cut. Always on time, professional, and always squeezing me in. The barber shop is always good vibes and interesting conversation on whatever is going on that day. Definitely recommend read more

Nice black barber shop! Omar is tha man. Tell him bobby sent u!

I have been getting my hair cut here since I moved from DC. Jameel is very professional and he knows how to cut my hair. The price is pretty reasonable too. It costs me ~ $25 to get my hair cut and my mustache and beard shaved off. read more

Expensive. For the area they are in, they are very expensive. I called and asked about how much they charge, he said $25. I went there and I gave him $40 and I was expecting the change, the way he handled me the money was obviously showing that he wants tips. I tipped him $5 and never went back. Not for the tip but it wasn't even worth it. read more

Top notch cuts. Very business focus with all the urban stylings. The attention to detail is superior and price is fair. People ask me where I get my hair cut all the time. The rooster isn't large just filled with people who are very talented which is how it should be. Appointments recommended. read more

I personal go to Mike.I've gone 3 times and the cut is better each time! Which is hard to say because the first cut was amazing. Rarely does the barber get it perfect on the first attempt. He was swift but took his time to make sure quality was involved. read more
