We needed someone who was above all honest, trustworthy, and made things easy. We were very nervous because the work we were having done was much more than we had engaged someone to do before, and everyone has heard a horror story about a contractor / bad home project. Our project was a finished half of our basement, including a full bath, mini-split HVAC, new electrical panel and framing around mechanicals that meant creating a mini-boiler room. The work that Eric's team did came out beautifully, the electrical and plumbing team he used was top notch, and we have a space we are very happy with. It seemed almost miraculous to us that with Eric, there really *was* nothing to worry about. What he said would happen, happened. When we had a question, we called him -- and he always took our calls and responded, fast, not to mention he was always up for a good laugh. He made practical recommendations that met what we said we needed, his people showed up when he said, and the work got done while staying completely out of our hair. It is true what their site says, that NEC is a family-run, long time business in this area, and it shows. Eric is a great guy, fun person to talk to, and he takes true pride in his work, as does his family who work with him every day. If you have a job that really matters to you, then I recommend you get a true general contractor, and that is definitely Eric. Perhaps the highest recommendation of all is, we've hired NEC to do more work for us and, to be honest, would have a hard time using anybody else given how happy we are with them. I found a bunch of awnings that extended out 10', but the longer awnings were harder to come by. I found some, but I was not confident. I ended searching the internet, found Alutex, they came by and we ironed out exactly what I needed. The awning is a roof mounted 20' x 13'. The awning makes the deck such a nicer space now as when we have people over in the summer the sun won't beat down on us.
