Alex did a fabulous job for me. I needed my gravel driveway redone and I called around and Alex gave me the best price so I went with him. I am not the only one impressed by the job he did. I recently had a Highway Supervisor for the county stop by, he wanted to talk about replacing the culvert that runs under my driveway and across my front yard. Roads are what he does all day, every day, he commented on what a great job they had done on my driveway. My husband and I moved up to the Hudson Valley full time last year. We were debating whether to get black top or to keep the gravel that we loved so much. After last winters major snow storm our gravel was destroyed by the plowing. We decided to black top our driveway this past June. We chose the Paving Company after we received a referral from our friend who used them in the past. We called the company, and the owner, Alex came out. He was a character to say the least (think Mad Max and the Thunderdome). We got an estimate which my husband thought was reasonable and decided to have The Paving Co do the work. We were very very pleased with the job that was done. We have a big circular driveway and I was nervous at first that it would not be done properly. It was done to perfection. They did such an amazing job it looks beautiful and very smooth. A few days after the job was done, we had a septic issue and we thought we would have to dig up the driveway, it had only been paved a few days earlier. Alex, the owner had stopped by to make sure that we were happy with the job, and he saw the septic people here and they told him they may have to dig it up. He told us not to worry that if they did have to dig up the driveway he would come back and fix it. I feel that is above and beyond. Thank goodness it didn't need to be done. Shortly after paving my driveway, cracks started to appear. After numerous phone calls Mr DeLaura promised to fix but he eventually stopped returning phone calls and disappeared. I had to hire someone else to repair his poor work. Beware, incompetent work by Alex DeLaura and The Paving Company!!! read more

Despite negative reviews you may see, I must say that Alex De Laura is a real professional, and his work product is proof of that. I just had a 75 yard driveway done, the same day I called Alex, which included leveling before pouring of gravel. The work was right, and the price was right. What more can you ask for??? read more
