Josh came out the day after I called for an estimate. He came out that day and gave me options for the driveway; simply a coating, a 2" top to what I had or tear it out and replace it. He priced each option and gave me the time to think it through and make my decision - which was to tear out the driveway and replace it. They were here the following Monday. If there was a delay, Josh called me, if I had a question he answered me - and I thank heavens for even just that - since I have had almost NO ONE that I've called for any type of service to ever call me back. They treat their customers well. The guys came out and I've never seen such an amazing team of people working together, each knowing his job and getting it done to perfection. There was a small issue with a piece of equipment, and they didn't leave me. They waited until a part came, they fixed it and finished the project, even though it now ran past 6:00 pm. They were kind, professional, they cleaned up after themselves, and they did an freakin' amazing job. It's beautiful! UPDATED: After my original review, Josh contacted me directly, came out to inspect the driveway, and addressed the cracking concerns by filling the cracks and taking the time to explain his perspective regarding the seal coating materials that had been used by another company. While I was initially frustrated by the communication and felt my concerns were being dismissed, I do appreciate that he ultimately responded, came out personally, and worked toward a solution rather than ignoring the issue entirely. He also offered a reasonable option to repair the plow damage at the road and reseal the driveway. I still believe the initial communication could have been handled better from the beginning, but I also believe it's only fair to update my review now that an effort was made to address the concerns. read more

1 year after my driveway paved, it's started to sink along where my car pulls in and out. When brought to the attention of Joshua Paving, they immediately started to blame me for it, before they even came out to look at it. They actually told me that I shouldn't park in my driveway. Although they offer a 2 year warranty, they didn't honor it. They blamed me saying my driveway doesn't drain properly, which is BS. I couldn't recommend them less. read more

Prompt, reasonable, understanding, communicative and efficient. When we had called last year, we initially planned to get the entire driveway ripped out and repaved as one project. Other obligations took from our house project budget. We had to stop progress with the tear out and gravel base. We lived with the gravel for a year and had hoped to get one more year out of it BUT this summer of torrential rain made our driveway look like the Grand Canyon! We called Joshua once we realized that a tamper and some gravel wouldn't be enough. Joshua arrived soon after we called. He gave us a fair price. i'm highly suspicious of the veracity of the rave reviews shown here on Yelp. Nothing in my experience with Joshua Paving, Inc. would qualify for such glowing statements. The firm did a poor job of installing an asphalt driveway. One evidence of that is that the driveway turns into a wading pool with every rain. A call to Joshua Paving to complain was met with considerable disrespect, verging on abuse. I intend to take this matter further, starting with a complaint to AG's office and the BBB. read more

So we had to re-pave our driveway, we knew it wasn't going to be cheap but Joshua paving came back with the lower quote than others and we decided to chose them, local, less money. They came and re-verified measurements the week before, and then we had rain on Monday, so it got pushed to Tuesday. Today came and I couldn't be more happy, they came around 830 and got right to work removing bad areas and cutting around our car port to make sure it was level. I'd say they were done about 2pm. Looks great! Can't wait to drive on it. Just an FYI for anyone that is going to resurface or replace their driveway is that you can't park on it for 3-4 days after, I didn't realize that and it was a bit of a surprise, with all the rain we've had the grass was very soft. Overall, I'm very pleased with the work that Joshua Paving did for me. They paved my base driveway and added a section for an additional car. I did have some trouble scheduling the work date, but this was made up in spades by the quick and professional job that was done. I am happy with the service and follow up on my driveway being sealed. I got response right away if I texted, called or FB message. Someone came right away and gave me and estimate. As soon as I called to book the job, they came right away-NOTHING to do with them-they had to postpone a day due to down pour rain. Very Happy... here's why. In general, I am skeptical of pavers. I have had two other experiences with pavers and both were fairly bad. I wasn't sure what to expect with Joshua Paving. The reviews online were pretty good but his price was lower than others so I assumed they would skimp somewhere. In the end, the final outcome was great and I couldn't be happier. Jeff was the foreman on my project. Two other guys seemed to be the skilled labor who would spread out the material (one of their names was Alex). There were three other guys who drove the trucks and also brought the materials to where they needed to be dumped via wheelbarrow. They started around 10am and didn't finish until around 9pm. They all worked a hard long day. The guys looked a little rough around the edges but were professional, nice and respected my property. I took the day off work and got a chair and watched them work. They kept the pavement thick, even in the middle. They didn't play any games of thick on the edges and thin in the middle. They did have to come back the next morning to finish up a little near the road as they had run out of material and the plants were already closed. You can see the seam a little but it looks sturdy. Jeff promised a two year warranty. There were no surprises at the end when it was time to pay the bill... the final price is what he quoted me. Jeff listened to my concerns and checked in with me a few times to make sure I was happy. I don't know if Joshua Paving has multiple crews or not, but I know that Jeff and his team did a great job. If I notice anything goes wrong with the driveway over the next year, I'll make sure to come back and update my review. Overall, I am very happy and would recommend Joshua Paving. I called Joshua paving because I saw his signs while driving around the Hudson valley area. Figured since so many people seemed to be using them, they would be a good fit to me as well. I was completely wrong. The guy that came looked like a kid with bushy hair and acne. Spent 10 min walking back and forth in front of my house on the phone forever approaching me. Never once introduced himself or asked what I wanted done (my whole driveway was not getting paved). I felt like he thought he was doing me a favor by coming to my house. Whole situation was uncomfortable and unprofessional. I a female mind you had to ask all the questions regarding the scope of work the job entailed. All in all cheaper than other companies but not by much, definitely didn't not get s good feeling from this guy. Very sketchy. Maybe he's good at a simple seal job but not a dig up, repaving driveway that has issues. Good luck to anyone who takes this joker on!!!!!!! read more
