I came here to get my nails done before my bachelorette party, a no-chip pedi and acrylic set with tips and cat eye polish. Within one week, every single acrylic fell off my hands. Not one or two.. all of them. They came off like press-ons. I paid $125 plus a $25 tip and called to ask about a refund. They offered to redo them, but refused a refund. I appreciate the offer, but I shouldn't have to come back and hope for a better result on a service that completely failed the first time. At that price point, it should have been done right and I don't want to waste multiple hours again. I've had acrylics many times and have never had this happen. On top of that, the salon was not the cleanest. I'd recommend looking elsewhere, somewhere that stands behind their work from the start. read more

First time going here with my daughter and I'm definitely coming back, my nail tech was Jenny, she was so nice and helpful. Pretty much she put me on a new favorite! I usually get gel sets with a rounded square tip, and this time i went with a soft pink and white hombre dip. She suggested a rounded coffin tip and I absolutely love it! I have big hands and have always been afraid of them looking so ugly but this finish makes my hands look dainty and pretty! My daughter wanted some nail art but the tech didn't do it, (that's the reason for the 4 stars.) and she felt bad to let him know, she told me after the fact. ***Update from 1 star to 3 ***Sam apologized for the miscommunication, credited $20, and personally re-did my mothers pedicure. She's happy and loving her fuchsia pink toe nails! Unfortunately the experience left too much of a bitter taste to return for future services but wish them well in their business. Thank you.*** *Today I came in for an appt @ 3:45 w my mom for two pedicures...they had us choose our polish, and sat us down...both nail techs then proceeded to sell us on the "deluxe pedi" a $45 ea. charge... We agreed sure.... Problem- So my mom unknowingly chose a "gel" polish that's supposedly last longer and is no chip per the receptionist. Funny enough the nail tech didn't mention or make my mom aware of the up charge for choosing a "gel polish" that again is suppose to last longer and be a no chip. It would've been nice to make us aware instead of taking advantage from our lack of knowledge of which section was the regular polish versus which was the no chip...it wasn't until it was time to pay that to our surprise the receptionist drops an unexpected total...the receptionist explains, and my mom and I looked at each with confusion. But still paid no mind and paid anyway...WITH THE ADDITION OF THE TIP! -Shortly after we arrive back home, my mom is getting ready and she lets me know somehow during her shower that one of her toes has already chipped!! I see her disappointment as she has plans tonight and therefore the only reason why she went and got a pedi....Seeing how upset and disappointed she is I'll be calling tomorrow for a refund, or an exchange to redo my mothers pedicure completely with a different and honest nail tech. I will not be returning here. i haven't gotten my nails done in over a year. i'm currently looking for a salon to regular at & i decided to give J-nails a chance because i've been there once & the nails were pretty good. but this experience was very upsetting. my nails are very uneven & overall VERY BAD. I'm not typically the type of person to write a review, or a bad one at that. i just want to help out others who may think this is a good place to get acrylics. Another thing i wanted to mention was the lady who had done my nails. throughout the entire process she kept making comments on my natural nails & was overall very aggressive while doing them. when it came time to checkout, she held the receipt & hovered over me while i was putting in the tip. i'm a people pleasure so it made me feel obligated to leave a decent tip for something i wasn't happy with. jus wanted to bring awareness! read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I'm honestly so upset at the fact that I just paid $40 for a full set acrylic nails to look like trash. I asked for all matte nails even the sparkly one on my ring finger (which I did the time before) and she kept saying no it'll look bad but isn't it always what the customer wants? Like they look bad all together! Asked for a somewhat long length with square but more rounded edges and they look like little boxes. Not worth my time or money here and super disappointed. The manager Sam did an amazing job on my sisters nails and they lady who did mine didn't seem to care one bit, she just wanted me out the door. I just paid to get a full set to have them taken off after thanksgiving. Obviously they communication issues because they refused to see my point. But my sisters nails turned out HORRIBLE! Uneven, short, disgusting! So this time, I decided to get my nails done, and my sister decided to get her toes done! I've been to J Nails a few times and had good pedicure experiences with Nancy. On June 15, a different person did my pedicure and I cannot be more disappointed. She grated my skin to the point of drawing blood. I had a one inch gash on my toe that was very painful and bled for hours. The girl did not even apologize. I did say something when paying for my pedicure (yes, I was still charged) about what to do to keep from getting an infection and the girl semi-rolled her eyes and said "use hydrogen peroxide and Neosporin" It still is not completely healed three months later--the girl butchered my toe! read more

I've been going to J-Nails for years now and wouldn't go anywhere else. Sam and Tim (and Nancy and everyone else there) all go the extra mile to make--and keep--their clients happy. They greet everyone in a friendly manner, have hundreds (maybe thousands) of colors, offer professional manis and pedis, and make it a point to talk to their customers during their services. It's so comfortable that customers even strike up conversations with each other. You leave feeling pampered and knowing that you got your money's worth. There are SO many salons in this area, to many which I have been, but this place knows how to do it right! No, it's not swanky, or fancy, or hip, but the customer service is excellent. If I'm going to spend a pretty penny on some pretty nails, I want it to be a great experience. Sam provides that here at J-nails. He cares about every customer that walks in the door and wants everyone to have a great experience. There are over 300 (almost 400) no-chip colors to choose from, and probably just about as many regular nail polish color choices include OPI and Essie. When each customer walks in, no matter how busy the shop is, they are greeted at the door with a friendly hello and asked to pick a color and get comfortable. There are cookies and candies on the coffee table. I was offered a complimentary beverage (water, coca cola products, and I even hear there is wine). The color selection, as mentioned, is unbelievable, and I'm pretty sure the largest selection in the area. And, of course, the quality of the maniure is absolutely great. It even comes with a guarantee. If your nails chip within the first 2 weeks of getting your manicure, even if it is completely your fault, they will fix it for free. I have been to this location a few times, but after today I will not be back. At the end of my service I go to pay. They have a sign to not use credit/debit card to save them fees. So I decide to do zelle as I had used it before. The gentleman said that the text said it is processing and not pending so that is not proof of payment. I call my bank and put it on speaker phone. They clearly says the payment went through and at this point I cannot even stop it. I show them the transaction on my online account where it clearly says complete payment to jnails. He still said that is not proof of payment and wanted me to pay again. And than want to argue when I said I want this in writing cause I want my money back since I am force to pay twice. He was very gentle and precise with my nails, especially the cuticle cutting. I'm recently moved to Kenosha from Chicago and was looking for a good place to get my nails done. I've had some bad nail experiences and there weren't a lot of reviews of places in the area. My neighbor mentioned she'd been to J-Nails a few times and really liked their service so I figured it was worth a shot. Things I love about J-Nails: 1. Very reasonable price! I thought the J-Nails prices were incredibly reasonable and comparible to other nail places I've been (minus outrageous prices in Chicago!) I know some of their prices were 'GrandOpening' specials, but really, their gel nail prices anytime were good! 2. Very clean pedi & mani stations. 3. Ease of appointment scheduling. Walkins are welcome, but I've always called ahead on the day I'm going just to make sure there will be availability and I never had a problem getting the time I'd like. 4. Nail polish and design lasted over two weeks (I finally had to remove it for work!) and I hadn't even gotten gel that time!
