    Cheesesteak
    Marcus W.

I've only been to Philadelphia once but when I did I had some of the greatest cheesesteak I've ever imagined. A friend of mine told me about this place and it's about the closest you can get to a real Philly cheesesteak in North Carolina. The bread is shipped down from Philadelphia. I was in Wilmington recently so I stopped by and it looked like a Philly institution on the inside. The people were all super nice and I was immediately taken to my seat and brought my drink. I was disappointed that they did not have cheese whiz as an option as that is the best option when you're in PhiladelphiThey said they did make their own provolone cheese mixture to go on the steaks I was I ordered that to go on the steak. I was not disappointed at all as the food was just simply amazing. I can't recommend this place enough and if you're in Wilmington or even in North Carolina looking for an authentic Philly cheesesteak you definitely should go here

I made a group order with my co workers. We all ordered cheesesteaks with cheese fries and a drink. The cheese steaks were soggy and the fries didn't have the cheese on them. I hate when I have to dip my fries in the cheese. My coworker is allergic to onions and they put onions all over his cheesesteak. I always have a way better experience when I dine in. I'm very disappointed in how this pick up order turned out. When I dine in the service is great, the food is great, and the ambiance is great. Idk what happened today. Very disappointed.

It has been a few years since I have eaten at J. Michael's. I have always loved their chicken cheesesteak. I compare every other one I have tried to J. Michael's. My waitress seemed rushed. There was a gentleman, I guessed he was the manager, that kept checking on everyone and was very nice. My food was really good. Fries & sandwich were hot. The only thing I noticed is that my sandwich did not have as much cheese as I remembered.

On my search for the best Philly Cheesesteak in North Carolina I tried out J Michael's Philly Deli in hopes to find a find a great Cheesesteak. I will start by saying the seasoning they use on the steak is delicious, but the beef they use was definitely lacking a good beefy flavor. The cheese sauce was made of white American cheese and was pretty tasty. The bun was soft and could have used a slight toast, but was good nonetheless. The fries were quite disappointing, they were warm when I received them but were lacking seasoning and tasted a bit like old potatoes. The service was great and we got our food fairly quickly. Overall I would rate the food as average and nothing that blew me away, but at a fair price point.

Sampler they were out of onion rings I got extra mushrooms

This is one of my favorite restaurants. I love their fried mushrooms, and our mozzarella sticks are all-time favored. Is the Philly cheesesteak with ham and add the ranch which is homemade they make their homemade ranch with their secret recipe. You have to try.

Worst Cheesesteak Hoagie I have ever had! Meat was bone dry and it had hardly any cheese. One slice of tomato cut in half for an entire sub.

I came on the tail end of the "lunch rush" and saw most tables occupied. My mom and I were seated promptly, thankfully, and my server was prompt. She was happy to hear about how we found Winnie's and that we are looking forward to trying their signature burgers. I ordered a miniature Carolina Burger and my mother ordered a full-size Station Wagon Burger. The Station Wagon is Winnie's take on a Mushroom Swiss. My burger has chili and slaw between the patty. Both our patties are thick and juicy. The cajun fries have a kick to them and are worth trying out. We saved half our burgers to take home along with a take-out order of two more burgers. Our visit yielded four meals and two happy bellies.

The flavor was great the caramelized onions with the Oklahoma sauce was a great pairing. The burger itself was juicy and had a good flavor. One of the better burgers I've had honestly and you have a ton of toppings to choose from. My one bite score came out to a whopping 8.2/10 which is the 4th highest rated burger on my scale ever. The sweet potato wedges were amazing the cinnamon is the way to go! I was kind of disappointed with the sizing I ordered a large to split between the two of us and it wasn't enough. The 12 oz shake was amazing the only thing with that was it took forever. I was done with my food by the time the shake was done. It did look like they only have one shake machine so that could be why it took so long but the fact the I was done with my food before even seeing the shake was a bit crazy. The price of it all was a bit steep in the 40 some dollar range, but it was great. Also kinda in a random place but the vibes were great in there and the food was good I would say it is definitely worth the drive.

The staff were awsome, kind, and polite with energetic spirits, the restaraunt was clean, and most importantly....so was the bathroom.

Unfortunately, we were by the door, and it was a little chilly with people coming in and out, but I totally understand that they have to pack in tables due to being so busy. Service was friendly and quick, and they were very patient with the fact that a member of our party was late arriving. I went with the Oh Molly, which included 3 eggs, bacon, sausage, homefries, grits & a biscuit with mollasses butter. They let me sub in double bacon since I don't eat sausage. The main draw for that dish for me was the molasses butter. The molasses flavor wasn't as strong as I was hoping, but it was still really tasty. The biscuit was soft and perfect, I liked the grits, the eggs were cooked right. There was room for improvement on the hashbrowns. For such a busy spot, the gender-segregated single stall restrooms did have a bit of a wait. So, just keep that in mind. Also, when they are busy, their parking lot does fill up. We struggled a bit with parking. I'd definitely stop in again!
