I'm new to the area and decided to give this place a try, as my skin hasn't been at its best recently. I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Shia. From the very beginning of the session I could tell she was brilliant just from the questions she asked me. Her knowledge of cosmetic skin disorders and their treatment outweighs most, if not all, of the dermatologists I've seen. As a physician myself, I like to think I'm good at assessing this. Shia explained that although my skin type wasn't right for "granular exfoliation" (what I'd received in other facials in the past that I had bad reactions to), I was a great candidate for microdermabrasion. She used this treatment along with quite a few others, always being attentive to how my skin was responding. She gave me advice on what skincare regimen would work for my skin. I can tell my skin is already looking better (less than 24hrs later), and I'm excited to continue with Shia monthly for as long as I live in this area! Already referred a friend to her as well. Go. My wife and I were in Short Pump and decided we wanted to schedule our couples spa day so she called the Short Pump location. I was sitting beside her and they were on speaker phone while she scheduled. They kindly asked if "your husband" would be ok with a male massage therapist. This is a no for me and always will be. It's my personal preference and will never change. My wife said no and they told us it would be about a month before they could accommodate us. We showed up on our scheduled date after working extra late the day before because it takes us an hour to drive to this location and we know it would take up our whole day. After sitting in my sauna for 20 minutes I sat there waiting for 10 minutes for my therapist, who, to my surprise was a male. I explained I did not want a male therapist. He was polite and I thought was going to tell me to wait a few minutes while he figured this out. Instead he said "go ahead and get dressed and go to the front". So that's what I did expecting an employee or manager to come figure out what needed to be done. It's also important to know once he told me this I told him to tell my wife because I know she would have gotten up and left. He said to me "Oh, she's probably started her treatment". He did not walk me to the front or talk to me after in any way. The staff sat at the front desk whispering back and forth so much that I felt uncomfortable and decided to wait outside. 2.5 hours later I get a call saying it's time for my facial. I explained what happened and told them it was a terrible experience and they said sorry and I won't be charged. She also said she would have a manager contact me. Guess what, not contact has been made to me directly. However, my wife called and let them know just how bad and unprofessional this experience was. The manager, Kendall, agreed and said this is unacceptable and she was going to contact upper management to see what they could do. After Kendall failed to contact my wife as promised she called her. Now Kendall told my wife I lied, that never happened, there staff did nothing wrong and they could offer me 20% off if I come back in. Let me be clear on how I feel about Scents and Serenity. I would rather chew my own fingers off than step foot into that spa again. I will eat the money I wasted on this place rather than be treated so badly, called a liar and listen to the excuses the staff made to protect their mistakes. It was clear and I heard my wife directly state I wanted a female therapist and they agreed and scheduled a later date. Oh, let me also explain that my wife probably hadn't even started her session and had a female therapist. They easily could have corrected this by switching. We would have been completely fine with that. And time wasn't an issue. We started 10 minutes early to the excuse of "you wouldn't have gotten all your time" is irrelevant. Look, I'm sure people may love that place. Everything is good until it isn't and the way the manager handled this showed my their attitude towards all their clients behind closed doors and money is the only thing that matters to them.

A beach city with no laser away. What the heck... It doesn't even make sense. But I still had five sessions to get through. So I'd make the 2 Hour Drive. up to Richmond, Virginia. This is the nastiest LaserAway I've ever seen. This is the second time I've been at this location and both times the bathroom was in disgusting condition. It's shocking that medical procedures happen in this office with the level of cleanliness that is acceptable here. I'm extremely disappointed. I will not be traveling to this location anymore. I'll have to fly to Atlanta or back to California to get the remaining three treatment sessions done. It's just disappointing because we spend so much money to remain loyal to this company, that it's strange to even have to ask for a clean bathroom in a medical grade facility. I liked that the door was locked from people just coming in. It added to my ability to feel more secure and that this was a scared and safe place to relax. I liked the use of essential oils and soothing tunes to set my mind in the mood of relaxation. The therapist made sure that I was comfortable and also gave me instructions on what to do as far as food and water for the next 24 hours and not to consume alcohol. The therapist also gave me insight of tense areas within my body. The therapist was very thorough and addressed every area that lymph runs through. I get massages to help prevent and deal with migraines, and this smell was so strong I fear it'll trigger a migraine instead. I had to wait outside in the 90° heat instead of the waiting room. I asked and the receptionist said it was a diffuser...it didn't smell like any natural essential oils I've ever smelled and they'd probably be better off not using a scent in the common area. If they must, I would go with one that's more calming and universal like lavender.

She squeezed me and my sister in even though she didn't have an available appointment for us that evening. When she saw my brows she explained a tint probably wouldn't give me the desired results since my ends were sparse and patchy and the dye doesn't stay on skin and it had no hair to adhere to. I was surprised because most places I've been to will do anything just to sell a service but she was more concerned with making sure I understood what I could and could not expect from the tint and that I'd ultimately be happy which i appreciate. I decided not to tint and just do a wax. My brows haven't been touched in ages, and they looked rough. She was incredibly meticulous, listened to what I wanted, started working on one brow and would have me check and make sure it was turning out how I wanted. She took her time, and was so incredibly thorough. She's very honest and I really think that's important in someone who's working with the features on your face. When I was done, my sister had her brows tinted. She has lighter brows and the tint was perfect for her. Because the lights are bright at Wink, I didn't really get a complete idea of how my brows looked till I got home and then this morning in natural light. I was floored. She made them look flawless. I can't believe these are my brows. I didn't know they could look like this and I feel like they have to be fake they look so perfect. I will absolutely go to Taylor from here on out for my waxing and hopefully in the future for microblading. If you are at all apprehensive, trust her, she knows what she's doing.
