After speaking to a few roofing companies, I decided to go with Kavanaugh, because I saw a lot of their signs around Westwood and Norwood and, unlike some of the other roofers I met with, they did not trash the competition. They also had a great price and were really fast to return phone calls and answer questions. I also appreciated that they provided their insurance and license information up front. When it came to the work, they were in and out in one day. They did a great job and it could not have been easier to work with Paul. My wife and I both work in Boston, so it was going to be tough to be home when all the work was being done, but Paul did not mind and his team did everything quickly, efficiently and professionally. The whole process felt more like I was dealing with someone I had known for a long time rather than a big faceless company. I strongly recommend Kavanaugh Roofing and hope that they continue to maintain this high level of customer service.

My husband and I had originally called Paul back in January to get an estimate to redo the roof on…read morethe house we had just bought in Norwood. Paul came out right away and left an estimate- he was the most reasonable of all the other estimates we got. We actually got married this June, and between moving into our new home and planning for the wedding, the roof was pushed aside. Once our wedding was done, we called Paul in late June to see if we could reconnect. Paul immediately remembered which house we lived in (months later!), and mentioned that we may need to repair our skylight. He said he would stop by to inspect the skylight and leave roof samples so we could pick out the color we wanted. Not only did he call back to let me know that the skylight was not an immediate need (he knew we didn't have much money over the estimate to spend), but he was also honest about the different types of roofing materials- as in, what the "Good", "Better", and "Best" meant- and what he would suggest. Paul said he would get back to us in a couple of weeks- he had a few other jobs scheduled before ours. However, two days later (a Wednesday), he called to say another job had to be rescheduled, and that he could begin the next day and be done by the weekend! My husband and I were shocked and so happy! Paul and his crew came on Thursday afternoon, with a dumpster, and were able to remove half of the roof. My husband and I weren't even home- they came while we were at work. The next morning (Friday), they showed up promptly at 6:30AM, and the crew worked right through until noon. They were completely done in less than two full days. The crew was very professional! Paul was there the whole time working, and everyone was very friendly (I was home all day Friday). We have Directv (a dish), and one of his workers even tried to recalibrate it for me so that our cable would work (it was being finicky- not his fault!) The cost was exactly as Paul had quoted- not one dollar more- and he told me about a few extra things that they did- replaced some of the warped wood boards, insulated the front bay window, and sealed the skylight, just in case. Our roof came out excellent, and we are so pleased with the work Paul and his crew did. They were incredibly efficient, even working through a brief period of rain. I will be adding photos once I take some of the outside. The new roof has changed the look of our home. One of his crew members even came back a few days later with a magnet-type stick to pick up any nails left behind. I doubt we will have any more roofing needs in the near future, but we could not recommend Kavanaugh roofing more!

You are very fortunate." We could not agree more. BER transformed our 130-year-old home with extraordinary skill and care. They stripped the old shingles and clapboards, applied multiple layers of protective barrier to the original walls, and installed new state-of-the-art composite clapboards and cedar shingles. The bottom course of shingles was individually notched to replicate the original detail, and the dentil molding was reconstructed by hand. The team also completely rebuilt our bays in PVC that, once painted, is indistinguishable from wood. Every line, corner, and transition is precise. They worked through extraordinary conditions--from 10-degree winter days to 100-degree summer heat--without ever compromising their focus, craftsmanship, or attention to detail. Joe Danz oversaw the project closely from start to finish. He communicated warmly and consistently with the three homeowners in our building, accommodated additional requests fairly, and remained committed to the work until every detail was right. Our neighbors--including two architects--stopped to admire the workmanship as the project progressed. Our home has been restored to its original beauty with durable materials and craftsmanship that should last far beyond the current owners. Overall, for me, Bryson Builders was a great decision, because Peter, the contractor, has experience with the insurance claim process; he is not "salesy" and listened to my concerns/questions; and he had a thorough estimate that clearly outlined all the work that would be completed. Having never been through a renovation, the repair process went beyond my expectations. Given that my roommate and I were still living in my home through the process, it was not as bad as I thought it would be. The Bryson Builders team members were professional and treated my home well. For the most part, the work area was cleaned on a daily basis and I can see progress as time passed. Due to my schedule, I appreciated the flexibility in being able to communicate with Peter via phone or email. I received updates from Peter frequently allowing me to be mentally prepared and/or to prepare my home as necessary. The finished product is so amazing, from the quality paint job throughout the home, the installation of the countertops, electrical work, and the bathroom tiling to the roof replacement. Not only does my house feel more like home but I feel confident that my home can withstand another snowpoccalypse. I appreciate Bryson Builders' hard work, and really feel that things would not have worked out if I chose another contractor. Bryson Builders will be my go to contractor in the future.

Mark was great in making sure all aspect of the roofing project moved along, from providing fair estimates, scheduling delivery of materials and attaining proper permits with the city to providing great customer service by being helpful and promptly answering any concerns I had. Turns out, those roofers were calling a substance rust that wasn't rust and I didn't need a fix at all! Jay Jr literally saved me $4k on the spot (with photo evidence and all) by pointing that out. I learned so much about our gutters and roofs from that first meeting, he was a wealth of knowledge. Right there, I knew he was our guy. I didn't need Jay to fix the slate anymore but since I was so impressed I happily hired him to do some gutter fixes we needed done and painting a small portion of flat rubber roof white. He did a fantastic job with both. Jay was also the person in charge of our project and doing the work himself. He texted to give me a heads-up before he arrived each day and gave me a recap after each day to share progress and findings (with photos). Over several days of work he found a bunch of previously undiscovered but significant problems that he fixed without charging me more.
