Mother's Day breakfast - come early . We had a 40 minute wait. However, i do appreciate the timer…read morethat lets you see a real-time countdown when your table is ready. I ran to get gas and my son rode his scooter all while waiting for our table. Food was good as usual and great service. Would return again on a non-holiday.

The original pancake house is your classic breakfast place with pancakes, eggs, breakfast meats,…read moreand combos, which you can't really go wrong with. The service, however, wasn't great. I was a little put off right from the start. We walked in and the two employees standing at the host stand gave us what I can only describe as the Gen Z stare. They literally just looked at us and didn't say anything. No hi, welcome, how many-nothing. Then, our server took our drink order and didn't come back for a long time. The lady who brought our drinks avoided eye contact to the point that it was awkward. When we did finally order, our food came out quickly. I got the meat and eggs, and chose chicken apple sausage (not a common option and nice to see), and upgraded to pumpkin pancakes as opposed to plain buttermilk. The pancakes and sausage were great, and the sausage serving was huge. I did have to send my eggs back to get them cooked a little more, but they were good as well. Our coffee and waters were empty for a really long time. Also, the food was extremely expensive. I've never seen $20 for a basic breakfast combo.

This restaurant was bustling on a Saturday afternoon. They have about seven or eight tables indoors…read moreand a couple tables outside. There were also several picnic benches around the side of the building, but I wasn't clear if they belonged to the restaurant. You order at the register and they call out your name when your food is ready. They have a ton of vegan/vegetarian options, as well as a great breakfast/brunch menu. I ordered the egg and cheese biscuit. The cheddar jalapeño biscuit was delicious. It was buttery and dense. The flavors were mild, but the sandwich was the perfect portion size. I also got a side of the vegan bacon. It was rubbery and tough to chew. Would not recommend. My husband enjoyed the breakfast burrito. We also shared the buffalo cauliflower. The cauliflower pieces were well coated in buffalo sauce and very flavorful. I also got the Don't Kale Me juice. It was tangy, citrusy, and refreshing. The Deep Roots smoothie was also quite tasty. They have free self-serve water and the employees were quick to wipe down tables so they were clean for the next party. Looking forward to coming again!

In search of vegan dishes I searched Yelp in the Hawthorne NY area and it took me to Sleepy Hollow…read moreNY where I scored big time . Going inside Grass Roots Kitchen was a breath of fresh air. The aesthetics put me in the mind of earth day and such beautiful paintings on the wall and flowers and greenery throughout. Grass Roots Kitchen offers have high tops dining as well as, regular dining, and outside dining. The dining area is pretty large, length wise and beautifully attractive. I ordered the egg and cheese biscuit with the help of the cashier, I didn't get her name and it's on the receipt but I threw it out. Even though this was not a vegan dish, who could pass on a collosal cheese biscuit. The egg was a nice accompaniment to this cheese biscuit also. The lady that gave me the biscuits said, wow! That smells nice. I thought she was giving me a compliment on the order until I sniffed the bag. Normally I don't do well with my sense of smell but, boy oh boy! That was a gooooooood smelling biscuit. And the taste, it tastes so good, it makes you want to slap yo momma. (Don't do it, it just makes you want to slap her.) Needless to say, I really enjoyed this cheese biscuit. In hindsight I guess I could have grabbed a hot drink, maybe next time, and there will be a next time because I told the lady that this was my first time and at the restuarant and I'm new in the area. She said she's looking forward to seeing me again. I'm looking forward to more eats and treats or treats and eats. Whatever it is, just ... Inspire more, Yelp more!

** WOULD NOT EAT HERE **…read more I was with some friends and stopped in here to get a cup of tea to go. I asked the person at the counter what kind of plant milks they had and he said, "Whole milk, skim milk..." obviously not even listening. I had to ask again. So I order my tea and the whole time this guy is wiping his nose with his hand. Not even kidding. Right in front of us. So he makes my tea and he goes to put a sleeve on the cup. HE DROPS THE SLEEVE ON THE FLOOR AND THEN PUTS IT ON THE CUP. Sigh. I was with new friends and didn't want to make a fuss, but GAH You could not pay me to eat here. If this is how they behave in front of you, what happens when you can't see? Was trying to phone to speak to a manager, but one was never in and maybe that is the problem...

Cafe Deux was such a lovely place for a date night and looks like a great place for breakfast. On to the food, the menu had plenty of gluten free options so my partner had endless decisions to choose from. We started off with the hummus with gluten free sourdough bread and you could tell all of it was freshly made. For the entree, we had Spinach Basil Pesto Rigatoni and the Deux Wagyu burger mind you eating the burger it melted each bite I took. The winner of the night the French Onion Mac and Cheese like whaaaaa, that is on top of my list of best Mac and cheese I ever had. Honorable mention has to go the side salad because the dressing or vinaigrette was delightful and would get it again. Ultimately I don't think you could go wrong in any of the food choices. We shall be back for breakfast or dinner
