Not once did she speak a word to me or my friend while we were sampling, didn't offer any assistance or even acknowledge us. I'm willing to bet that it was because we looked younger and there's this stigma (especially in the fragrance industry because I work with fragrances), that the younger audience doesn't buy anything. Not only was Norma very unwelcoming and inhospitable, I also observed her eating chocolate pretzels right in front of us while scrolling on her phone. This was a very gross and unprofessional representation of Saks Fifth Avenue and Parfums de Marly. Norma needs better training because she seemed very comfortable doing this as if she does it all the time. There is one bright side to this story though; Patricia came to assist my friend and I and actually spoke to us like we were human beings. She seemed happy to assist us and even made light conversation with us. I felt a lot more welcome speaking with her. Norma could learn from her. If Saks Fifth is comfortable with having their name and luxury brands represented so sloppily, it's only a matter of time before this location closes. Very disappointing experience.

She wasn't sure where the salon was, but the gentleman she was speaking with (he also worked there), said to follow him and he'd take me to the salon. You can't get to it directly, he said. What!? Something about while the salon is part of Saks, it's not really part of Saks. Oh, okay. Well, we go in the back area where inventory is stored, go through a couple of hallways and doors. The last door puts you outside on the sidewalk. The salon entrance is only accessible from the outside, no inside entry. Who knew? After all this, they didn't have what I was looking for. Oh, well.

It carries incredible women's clothing brands, accessories and home goods, and menswear. It's also an incredibly beautiful store - tall ceilings, wood features, incredible rugs... it bears no resemblance to the Stein Mart I used to visit growing up that was in the location previously. It even has a bar area, where you can get a local draft beer, wine, coffee, or espresso. It's definitely high-end (even the on sale items could run you hundreds of dollars - for a dress, say), but it's really high quality and well worth a visit if you're shopping for something nice!

Overall, I had a great experience here, and almost bought my dress here, but decided to keep looking and found my dress elsewhere.

My original gown shopping experience with Taylor was positive, and I captured that sentiment in a completely separate 5-star review. This review and reply are only about the alterations communication she provided and veil outcome, which occurred months after purchase. When buying the veil, I was directly told by Taylor that both shortening and appliqué removal at the top were possible in alterations. I made it clear that the ability to remove that top appliqué was the sole reason I moved forward with ordering that specific veil. At the alteration appointment which I attended in-person, the veil was shortened, but the appliqué was still untouched. We marked precisely where it needed to be removed so the design would properly align with my dress. I did not approve leaving it as-is. Because I live out of town, my mother later picked up the veil on my behalf. Only at that time, days before my wedding at final pick up, were we told the top appliqué removal could not be done at all, even though it had already been discussed many times. At that pickup moment, I did not threaten a bad review. I requested a full refund so I could return the veil entirely, and that request was denied by you because the veil had "already been altered." Again, those alterations were not completed based on what was discussed or marked and, as mentioned in my initial review, I had to settle for a partial discount and a veil I was unhappy with. So my review is warranted. Had I been told upfront that the change wasn't possible, OR had the appliqué been removed where we marked it, I would have: * never purchased the veil, * never requested a refund, * and happily kept and loved what I ordered. Instead, I was left with a veil that: * visibly clashed with the dress due to color contrast at the top, * was not altered as confirmed or marked, * and could not be returned when I asked, despite the incomplete work. Transparency is everything in bridal alterations-- especially for expensive, time-sensitive items with no remake or replacement window. My response is not personal to Taylor's styling work, but clarity matters for future brides reading this. Brides deserve accurate information and accountability on purchases made specifically because of alteration assurances. I stand by my review and this context.

The employee who rang us up was named Emily. The interaction leading up to the purchase was minimal and subpar. After Emily charged our card we requested a paper receipt. She said she would get the receipt then disappeared. A few minutes later we noticed she was at the front of the store talking to a fellow employee so we continued to wait. When she didn't return, we noticed she had moved on to assisting another customer looking at duffel bags. It had been well over 10 minutes and we had still not received our receipt nor our purchase. I went to try and get Emily's attention and she ignored me. I then found another employee to help me. This employee brought the item out to us within a minute, but we were still left waiting on the paper receipt. When we finally got the attention of Emily, we told her we had been waiting and had to have another employee bring out our purchase, but still needed the paper receipt. The second my father turned around I saw Emily make a rather rude facial expression behind his back. This is something I do not take lightly in any situation, but especially at an establishment such as Coach. Emily finally retrieved our receipt and we were on our way. An interaction that should've taken a few minutes ended up taking many many more than needed due to the negligence and poor attitude of Emily. Additionally she did not apologize for this delay. We received an apology from another worker we assumed to be the manager. I own many Coach pieces and have been to many different stores and have never had an issue much less to this magnitude. I am disappointed to say the least.
