When it was towed to Auto Werks they had it fixed in 3 days. Their staff was very responsive, quick and went through the bill with me. I should have taken it to Auto Werks right away and not wasted a week of pay for a rental car. This was my 2nd catalytic converter they had to replace and should have just started with them. Their bid of $3,300 was also cheaper than the other shop for $4,300.00. So if you get your catalytic converter stolen go to Auto Werks. The guys were very pleasant to deal with too. I'll be back.

May 2020 my check engine light comes on so I called and spoke with him about a catalytic converter…read morefor my car and he told me he had never worked on my type of car (Chevy Cruze) for that specific part but was still willing to fix the problem. May 29 2020 he asked me what was the size of my engine and which I told him 1.4L. I paid 442 dollars for the part with my debit card & I left my car at his garage overnight. May 30 2020 I went to pick up my car and he told me to pay him 400 dollars CASH. He didn't give me a actual receipt, just the warranty paper for the part. I thought it was kinda weird that he wanted me to pay for the converter with my debit card but he wanted me to pay him in cash but I didn't think about it any further because I was just happy my problem was fixed. About 2-3 days later my check engine light comes back on. I called him and told home that it was back on and then he tells me he's going to call the distributor that he purchased the converter from. He then calls me back and says that someone by the name of Shane Siemonsma said that it's a recall on my car. My question is if you knew that my car had a recall in the first place why would you take my money without notifying me about that first?? So I called the Chevrolet dealership in Independence,MO and they told me that it isn't a recall on my car. I called him back and he tells me that he will talk with Shane and then he gets Shane to send me a email with the "so called" recall. So I then call the dealership again and they took my info with my vin number and all and they tell me once again that it isn't a recall on my car. I tell him this exact same thing once again and in return he says to me "I'm sure something can be done but I'm not sure what." At this point I'm losing my patience. Two weeks have gone by and he still hasn't resolved my problem THAT I PAID HIM IN FULL FOR. So then he tells me to take my car to a mechanic shop called "master tech." I told them the issue and they did a diagnostic on my car and told me basically my car is rejecting the converter because it wasn't a top of the line brand. So then I call him back and tell what they say and he is saying the same thing again " I'm sure something can be done but I'm not sure what." June 15 2020 I'm at the point where I'm tired of the back and forth and nothing being done so I called him and told him I just want my money back for the part (which was 442 exactly) and I'll just give the part back. He says to me that how is that going to be good for him because he will be out of money. YOU HAVEN'T PAID FOR NOTHING. I PAID YOU FOR NOTHING. I'M THE PERSON WHO IS OUT OF MONEY. He then asks me what was my engine size and I said I told you 1.4 & then he tells me he wrote down 2.4. That could've been the problem but I'm not sure but how can you call yourself a professional mechanic and don't know what you are doing?? So he says to me he's going to call Shane again to figure out what can be done and he says he will call me the next day when he speaks to him. Tuesday and Wednesday goes by and I haven't heard a word from him. June 18 2020 he decides to ignore my calls. I called him all day and NEVER got a response. The very next day I was calling and NEVER got a response. So now in total I paid 842 dollars for nothing and have to come out with another 761 to get it PROPERLY FIXED. It's been almost a month later and NOTHING HAS BEEN RESOVLED. In all I lost over 1500 dollars. I was going to take him to court but I will be out even more money. The entire experience for me was highly frustrating. He didn't try to help fix the situation at all. He was completely unprofessional and took my money without doing the job right that I paid him for, & ignored all my calls. He is by far THE WORST mechi have EVER worked with in my entire life. I will NEVER go back to have him work on any car I have and I suggest you all don't either. Save yourself time, money,& headache.

I went with German Auto Service again for repair work as they came in under dealership pricing. The dealer wanted $3400 for this repair plus tax. Graf, the owner quoted me out $1900 plus tax which ended up just at $2045 saving me $1700. Based on his previous work he'd done for me this would have been the biggest job he'd done for me yet engine wise! The parts needed to be special ordered and I made my appointment a week in advance. The dealership had already confirmed this needed to be completed and I prepaid for most of the work not a demand of his but something I like to do so I don't spend the money and end up charging it. So I figured he would have ordered most of the parts needed and made sure he had everything. Apparently there is a special part part to make sure the chains are too dead center and that part took some special ordering and didn't arrive for almost 2 weeks due to the thanksgiving holiday. Other than some unfortunate timing delays everything went off without a hitch and now I don't hear that awful chainsaw sound and I'm confident the vehicle will run smoothly without Timing chain issues for years to come with regular maintenance. The very next next week I was back in here with my other Car getting my blower motor fixed. I thought it would take the day or a couple to get the part but to my shock and surprise Graf had the parts in stock and was able to fix my car quick and easy! It was expensive for the parts but his labor is very reasonable for German repair work. Love Love Love this place.
